I've been having pain in toes on both feet. Wondering if this could be due to flecainide. Pain and tingling about a month after usage. ## Hello, Squirrel! How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're in pain. It has been known to cause some joint and muscle pain or cramping in some people that take it, though it isn't common. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. If you've been on it for over a month, then it is most likely that this side effect is going to continue, if it is caused by the medication, so you may need to try a different drug to treat your condition. But, you should have this checked out, because there is a chance that this symptom is unrelated. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Have had extensive blood tes...

Last 8 years have been fighting constant pain unless I can sleep. After many, many, many medicines for pain, I was prescribed percoset. I did not have side effects with this until my doctor in Richmond had bad surgery, retired and of course no longer practices. I actually was able to speak with him and he listened. I have been on a 7 month journey to find a comparable doctor.....closer to home would be nice. A quality of life is not to be taken lightly. No doing the activities that others take as "normal" is brutal sometimes.......no travel, no movies AND dinner, and nothing longer than 3 hours. My last experience with a pain management doctor closer to home proved to be something I have never experience before and I started at 21 with colon cancer (has nothing to do with chronic p

Taking Toprol Xl for blood pressure. 25 mg tab. Bad disc in back at L3-L4 area. Have had shots for pain due to disc problems, for my pain is located in my hips. Can barely walk . What pain med can I take till I can have another shot in back if at all possible. ## Hi Terry, People will make suggestions, but at the end of the day it is only your doctor who can make the final decision on what he/she wants to prescribe you based on their own discretion. For that reason alone I would encourage you to speak with your doctor first and foremost to at least see what medication(s) he/she has to recommend. At that point you can probably better discern if those options are suitable based on the feedback of others, even though everyone seems to respond differently. One other thing to take into consi...

My papa wants to purchase this medicine for pain of foot this medicine is good for this and not ## I'm sorry, what medication are you talking about? You didn't post a name or put it in any particular forum, so I don't know. There are many medications that can be used to treat pain, such as opiates: But the proper treatment will depend on what is causing the foot pain. Has he seen a doctor for it?

I am addicted to opiates for pain. I abuse the oxy that I get. Would Sub or Methatdone be better for me with regards to pain? My husband has a history with drugs and has been on Methadone. He thinks Methadone is the way to go. ## Hi Sheri, I guess I am way too late but will throw in my two cents anyway. Im recovering from an opiate prob (percs) and am on a sub program. I found a good doctor, checked his background on the net, and am lucky. Things are going well.. Ok, I can answer with confidence that Suboxone is NOT a choice for you. Subs are used to fight an opiate addiction, not to treat pain. It was not designed for pain management, but Methadone is. I have read its especially used for end of life pain management. It has a long half-life and therefore is easier for people to overdose...

can But/apap/caf be used for other temporary pain associated with arthritis or fibromyalgia ## That stands for Butalbital, Acetaminophen and Caffeine, this combination is usually used to treat migraine headaches. It may help a little with pain from those conditions, since the Acetaminophen is commonly used to treat pain and swelling. Have you spoken to your doctor or pharmacist about what you should use for the pain?

I have been on Oxycontin ER 80mg twice a day for almost 7 years and it has been moderately to sometimes completely effective in eliminating my chronic abdominal pain. However, there are times (1-2 times a week, or so) when I can't get the pain under control. Currently, I cut one of the pills in half, which I know I shouldn't do, but it does what I want it to. Considering the strength of the Oxy that I'm on, what would be a better alternative to what I've been doing? I was considering asking my DR for an Rx of OxycoDONE (same thing but faster acting) for the break through pain an, if I do, what strength should I ask for? Or, if that's not a good idea, then what else would you suggest? Any help would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU! ## Discuss your problem w/ your Dr...

I've decided at my next Dr. appt to ask for my Soma back. I have a certain bone disease, and the only thing that helped the awful pain from it was Soma. I'm tired of being in pain & if the Soma is the only thing that helps, then why deny me the Soma that are completely legal? Enough is enough!!! If he denies to re-prescribe it, then put me back on Oxycontin 80mg a day. Does anyone know why so many people I know can't get their Soma either?? ## The US government is making it very difficult for Drs to prescribe all pain medication. Drs also don't want to be part of any kind of DEA investigation if the DEA wants to delve deeper. The DEA has all access to pharmacy records and can randomly investigate. ## It's not the DEA that's behind my losing my Soma. My Dr. st...

What meds can I take for burning stomach pain Dr got me on percose what you think ## Hi I am on stomach pills I have pain etc,my doc put me on Reva Rabeprazole 20 mg let me tell ya it like a magic pill really help don't think it a pain pill ## Percocet is classified by the FDA as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. It can help with stomach pain, but will not treat whatever the underlying problem is that is causing the stomach pain, such as acid reflux, an ulcer or gastritis. If one of those is causing it, then you need a medication, such as what Cricket has mentioned. Rabeprazole is used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to allow those types...

I have arthritis everywhere, especially in the ankle, and also osteoporosis. For the osteoporosis I am 67yrs. I am taking Alendronic Acid once a week and have done for 4 yrs. For arthritis I take one each of the following daily (and have done for years):- one Glucosamine Sulphate, one Omega 3, one Zaldiar tablet and one Beline capsule. It seemed to work well for me except for severe hourly nightime lower leg cramps which obviously prevent me from sleeping. A month ago, I suspended all medication and have been in terrible joint pain and feel awful, however, the leg cramps stopped overnight. I now know that it is the Beline capsules which give me the severe cramps as I started to take them again yesterday. I need to know if there is a successful alternative to Beline? I'm having shoulder surgery on feb. 20th on my rotator cuff. What can I take for pain right now for sciatic nerve and shoulder surgery I had done in october? ## Hi Deborrah, Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I realize that your surgery may have already taken place seeing as it's now the 27th of Feb. Did you manage to find anything to use for the pain since you last posted? Personally, I think it's imperative to discuss potential treatment options with the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist in order to play it safe; since whatever they administer during the operation could interact with whatever it is you may be taking. I know if it were me in this position, I'd probably turn to medical cannabis and/or kratom for relief, but I cannot say what will or wont work for you and y...

How long does it take to get off subsys, I have been on this for over 15 years for chronic nerve damage. What are the withdrawals and what other pain relief is instead of this. ## Hello, Jean! How are you? The FDA lists Subsys as containing Fentanyl, which is the most potent opiate available, thus after that long of a time period, you'll need to do a very slow taper. Your doctor should be able to help you set up a proper tapering schedule. However, since there is nothing else close to it available, I am not sure what else you may be able to use for pain relief. What dosage of it have you been on? The possible withdrawals may include nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, diarrhea, depression and rebound pain.

my dad used to use a medicine for mouth sores he got when he chewed- he thought it was called painla- does anyone know. I can't find it. thanks ## Was it an over the counter product? From the name, I'm assuming it probably was and, in that case, it's very hard to say what it was and if it's still available. There are, however, similar products on the market that serve virtually the same purpose, such as Orajel, which contains the topical anesthetic Benzocaine:
