I took these to help with sciatic nerve pain but my legs have since swollen to at least 3 times their normal size. Is this down to the pregabalin? ## It is possible, according to NIH reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood swings. However, such edema could possibly be dangerous, so it would be best to have it checked out to be sure. Are you on any other medications? How long have you been taking Pregabalin?

My wife has been on Actemra for about 6-7months now and her doctor says it's working, my wife disagrees. Due to her having to be on prednisone (very low dose 10mgs daily) she has now been diagnosed with Cushings as well. She is the most advanced RA patient this doctor says he has ever treated and that since her neck is deteriorated to the point of coming apart, he says she has to stay on the Actemra to slow down the progression. She feels worse every single day. She was misdiagnosed for 10+ years and by the time we found a Doctor to believe her it was too late to stop it. She was to far gone. She has gone from 140lbs all her life (shes now 51) to 270+ and nobody seems to have an answer other then it's from the steroids and pain meds, neither of which she can stop. Her legs are s...

I have swelling in my ankles and legs, feel unbelievably tired and my skin is hot yet I shiver as you do with a sunburn. My Dr. has changed my med at my request, but I would like to know how long it may take for the swelling to go down? ## What medication did they put you on, now? I'm sorry, but it is hard to provide you with accurate information, without knowing more specifics. Can you please post back and clarify? Depending on the new medication, it could take a couple weeks to a month, or more, since most medications in this class can cause these symptoms as side effects, according to the FDA. However, things may be different if they gave you a medication that helps remove the fluid that is causing the edema. ## My Dr switched me to METOPROLOL 25 MG per day. It brought my bp down...

Hi, I had a heart attack 6 months ago. A stent was fitted, and I was prescribed ramipril 5mg at night, Bisoprolol 2.5mgs daily, Aspirin, Ticagrelor 90mg twice daily, Lansoprazole 15mg daily... as well as all the usual side effects i.e dizziness, cough, muscle pain, I also have swollen ankles, feet, lower legs, which I'm told is not fluid... Has anyone else had this? ## I was prescribed Ticagrelor (Brilinta) after stent placement and after 3 months had to switch to Plavix due to massive bruseing and shortness of breath when taking it. Also had the swelling , still do. Wearing compression socks does decrease the swelling if you wear them 2-3 days in a row. Good luck to you! ## ......vorder, thank you for your reply...I will look into this ## Edema, which is the name for the swelling y...

Took Zanidip for only 11 days and stopped (under dr advice) due to severe swelling in my feet, ankles and lower legs. So much so that my shoes did not fit and it feels like the whole area is bruised. Has anyone else experienced this? I have stopped meds for 4 days and the swelling has not gone down - I am getting worried that this may be permanent. Any advice or ideas? ## Zanidip contains the active ingredient Lercanidipine, which is a calcium channel blocker, used to help lower blood pressure and treat certain cardiac conditions. They are known to cause edema in some people and, when it does, the medication must be discontinued and they usually have to switch to something else. If yours is not improving, you may need to take a diuretic, to help your body expel the excess fluid, because...

I started taking 10 mg of Norvasc 4 days ago and my feet & ankles were swollen to capacity. They almost hurt and they felt very hot. It was given to me for high blood pressure. ## This is one of the bad side effects of the drug. I've been taking Norvasc for almost 6 years now. It had the same effect on me and I can only take 5 mg. a day without the swelling. I have also developed a rash on my lower legs as well and was told by a dermatologist that it could be from the medicine. I take 3 drugs to try and control my BP but I have yet to find anything that controls things. I've had hypertension for 20 years now and I fear that any day I will have a stroke or heart attack or kidney problems. Hope you will talk to your doctor about your ankles swelling. Most people have that prob...

I just started taking Xarelto a week ago. My feet and legs are swollen. What do I do? ## Hello, Shane! How are you? As reported by the FDA, that can be a side effect of this medication, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. It would be best to have it checked out by your doctor to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello, the doc told me it was the oppressor that was causing the swelling. I had been on a constant IV drop for nearly a week as well. Also during that time I had terrific dry mouth and drank constantly. I could hardly move. I think all these factors led to the swelling rather than xarelto. These medications were all new to me. ## Hello, the doc told me it was the lopressor that was causing the swel...

I just started taking Levothyroxine 2 wks ago my legs and feet are swollen so bad by nite I can barley walk. They go down a little at nite but swell back. I am taking 25mcg and I am afraid to continue taking this med. Has any one else had this problem? ## Have you contacted your doctor? It sounds like you might be having a bad reaction to this medication and it may not be the right one for you, or may be too high of a dosage. Generally, the symptoms of a dosage being too high will start to manifest 6 days or so, after you start taking it and this type of fluid retention can be one of them and there is a chance that it could lead to congestive heart failure, if that's what's causing it and it isn't rectified. I am taking DOXY-CYCL HYCL along with 10mg of Amlodipine. Now my legs are swollen. I'm not sure if it's the antibiotics or the blood pressure pills. Am I supposed to take both pills at the same time?
