My husband has an abcess under his knee and it was cut and packed. What kind of pain meds should i ask for to help his pain once he goes home ## Hello, Yuvette! How is your husband doing? I'm sorry about the problem he's had. However, it isn't wise to ask the doctor for any specific medication. That is often viewed as being drug seeking behavior and will make most doctor's reluctant to prescribe anything. If he needs a pain medication, he should speak to his doctor about what to do for that pain, without asking for any specific drug. Is there anything else I can help with?

A new pain pill exstinded relief that starts with and a not avinsa ## Hi Eddie, What about the name Astramorph? It too is another brand of Morphine like Avinza. However, the difference is that Astramorph is an inj./epidural. And while I'm not sure how new it is or how long the relief lasts, inj's. are typically a lot stronger than oral pain meds due to increased bioavailability. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any other pain meds that start with an 'A', but if anything I hope this at least helps narrow down your search.

I need to know witch pill is the strongest Norco 5-325 or oxycodone 5mg my husband had a double knee replacement and is in a lot of pain.... ## Hello, Tina! How is he feeling? The Oxycodone is stronger than the Hydrocodone, but in this case, since the Norco also has Acetaminophen in it, they are probably both about equal. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Learn more Norco details here. They are both narcotic opiates that have the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Which has his doctor prescribed?

ive been on every pain medication I can think of.none of them work.my docter no longer knows what to give me.im in constant terrible pain. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I am so very sorry that you're in so much pain. The strongest that is currently available would be Fentanyl, it is over 80 times stronger than Morphine. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Have you consulted a specialist? You may do better with a pain pump or spinal stimulator that are constantly working.

Hi. I have a question about fentanyl. I'm on 25+12mg every 72hr but still in a lot off pain. Now I heard from a friend that oxycodone 80mg is stronger. I'm in the pain clinic and my dr said my insurance (bmc) doesn't cover the oxycodone. Can anyone tell me if I can pay for the meds with cash? ## Hello, Caroux! How are you? No, Fentanyl is the strongest narcotic available, it is even stronger than Oxycodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, you may need a medication for breakthrough pain, in addition to the patches. Most doctors will prescribe a low dose Oxycodone or something similar. Have you let your doctor know that your current ...

Howdy folks, in bad shape and need some relief. I've taken the Lortabs/Lorcegts, Darvaset Percoset, yada, yada yada. Come here pretty lady I have something to put in your mouth! ## Have tried any of the straight narcotic analgesics, such as Oxycontin, which is a time released formulation of Oxycodone, or MS Contin, which is a time released formulation of Morphine? Otherwise, the strongest on the market would be Fentanyl:

I've had severe chronic pain for years. Pain dr. Gave me 7.5/325 hydrocodone. I have hep c and chronic anemia. I don't want either tylenol or Ib.. what can I ask for that has none of those and is stronger? Would a fentanyl patch work? ## Hello, Andrea! How are you feeling? Fentanyl is the strongest narcotic available, so it may not be wise to jump straight to it, because that's not going to leave you anywhere to go in the future, once you build up a tolerance. Learn more Fentanyl details here. There are several others that are stronger and don't contain NSAIDs. One would be Oxycodone, which is available in instant release, regular release and time released formulations. Learn more Oxycodone details here. There's also Morphine, Dilaudid and Opana. small blue with ABC and 100 on other side ## Found a stash of these in little bothers shoe ABC 100 round Bluish pill/ What is it? ## oxycontin 100mg is what you found. they are probably the strongest pain killer made and are highly addictive and very dangerous. ## Actually, a tablet with the marking of ABG 100 that matches this description is a 100mg extended release Morphine tablet, a generic for MS Contin. It isn't quite as strong as Oxycontin, but it is still a potent narcotic analgesic, so it does have the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. You can learn more Morphine details here. Are there any questions or comments? Is there anything I can help with?

I've been taking tylenol #4 with codeine for over 18 years now for pain management. I would like to know what is the next step up because its not as effective anymore. I currently take 12 tablets a day. ## Hello Thoyt! Wow! I'm sorry you're in so much pain. That's a lot of it to be taken in one day, you're exceeding the 3,000mgs daily limit issued by the FDA or Acetaminophen. This medication is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The next step up would probably be Tramadol or Hydrocodone, with the first being the weakest and they latter being the strongest. Which is better for pain? Tramadol, Hydrocodone apap 5 325, or Tylenol 3? I am on blood thinners ## Tramadol is stronger. I'd research about the blood thinners. Might help to know that Tramadol is relatively new on the market, researchers might not have all of the facts. Ten years ago, the word was that it was NOT addictive. Now we know that it is Still, it is a nice, less ominous, alternative to narcotics. ## Hello, Shelby! How are you? In order of strength and efficacy… Tylenol 3 is the mildest you've listed, then Tramadol, and the strongest is the Hydrocodone/APAP. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am searching for information on how dilaudid compares with oxycodone ## white pill with m on front, no. 5771 ## For the first poster, Oxycodone is the strongest narcotic pain killer on the market that you can get in pill form. While Dilaudid is really a stronger medication, it is considered so dangerous that it is only available by prescription in a max of 10mgs, so for those who suffer chronic pain, the only option available in pill form to provide sufficient pain relief is Oxycodone. ## Gary, M 5771 is Methadone 10mgs, generic for Dolophine. The side effects for this are similar to those of other narcotics. ## Diladuid is not that strong once you get used to it. Whoever told you you can only get a script for 10 mg's at a time in not informed. I get180 4 mg. pills a month with 90...

blue oval pill ## Narcotic pain medication come in odd mg. doses like 22 mg. very addictive ## No, there is no Norco available in a 22mg dosage. It contains Hydrocodone, and Acetaminophen, it is narcotic analgesic and its most common side effects are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache, according to FDA reports. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. The strongest dosage available contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone, and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. What are the markings on the tablet in question?

I have these pain medicine and when I opened my bottle the have the strongest smell to them. They are 10/300 hp vicoden has this ever happened to anyone? ## Hello, Denise! How are you? Most medications tend to have an odor, some manufacturers just coat their pills to prevent you smelling it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What are the markings on them? That will enable me to double check the details on them for you.

What doses do morphine patches come in and do morphine patches actually exsist. ## Hi. I know there is a strong opiod patch called Fentenyl. The available dose varies and I was told that this is the strongest form of opiod available. I was prescribed for a while and the patches last for 48-72 hrs before you need to change to a new one. Very easy to tale and I felt the least amount of paincompared to other types. I I've in V an ad a but I've read that Gentanyl with slight differences is in the USA as well. ## @Darby (original poster), I personally haven't heard of Morphine patches and do not think they exist. If they do make them, drug companies certainly aren't making any effort to market them. Post #1 had mentioned Fentanyl coming in the form of an opioid patch, and I b...

Which is stronger? Norco 10mg or oxycodone 15mg? ## Oxycodone is the strongest of the two, you'd need 22.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to equal each 15mgs of Oxycodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Hello, all. Just wanted to try and help anyone out there with the similar situation. Generic norco used to work, but over the last 5 yrs., total junk. Tried every brand, felt anxious, no pain relief. God bless my doc, he switched me to oxycodone. Everyone is different, but noticed that this med is different in a lot of ways....most importantly...it is like creeper. I saw a new PM doctor yesterday. He was extremely nice as far as his personality. But when it came to the medications, he just wouldn't listen. I have a very low tolerance for strong pain meds. The strongest I can go is a Lortab 10/500 (which I've been on since 2005 successfully). Anything above that makes me sick or euphoric along with other challenging side effects. The only side effect from the Lortab I dealt with was dry mouth. No biggy. This new doctor doesn't believe in the short acting medications as a primary source of pain relief. Even after I explained to him that ever since I was a pre-teen, the long acting medications make me sick. I can take the exact same medication in short acting form and be just fine, but continuous is a disaster. Yesterday at my appt he put...
