I started my period on my last week of blue pills, today(Monday). I am having a family vacation this weekend and am going to be outside doing active things. Is there anyway I can end my period early if I keep taking the blue pills? Any other suggestions for ending it early? ## Hello, Morgan! How are you? No, it's going to run its course now and there's not really anything that can be done. In the future, you can skip the placebo pills to skip your period, if your doctor approves. Many women do that. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi I am 29 years old and have problem of PCOS and thyroid issues for the past many years. For the past 6 months I was taking Krimson 32 and everything was fine. But in December I stopped it. My periods started from the 1st of December and ended on the 6th of December. But on 14th of December my periods started again. I am taking Trapic MF to stop them. Is this okay or what should i do to stop them? ## Hello, Anu! How are you? Has there been any change? If you abruptly stop taking a hormonal contraceptive like this, then it is normal to have irregular bleeding, according to NIH reports, and it may take a few months for your body to balance things back out and return to normal. Other withdrawal effects may include nausea, headache, weight changes, and mood changes. Has your medical provid...

Ive been on the depo for 11 yrs and have never had a period. I got off the shot in February bc I wanted to conceive but hadn't had a regular period until last month August 26. It lasted for 7 days and it was awful!!! I just started my period today and it is very painful and heavy. My boyfriend comes home Wednesday and I dont want to still be on my period. If I start taking lo loestrin Sunday will it help stop my period? ## Unfortunately, there is no way to say for sure, plus if you are taking it, you will most likely not be able to conceive, since it is also used to prevent pregnancy. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, and PMS-like symptoms. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I stopped taking Sprintec in July/August because I no longer wished to be on it. I had my period in September, but have since not seen it. I did have irregular periods before I was ever on BC and missed periods from stress. I was stressed out lately but it has since calmed down, and now im not sure if my period would come... its probably been almost 30 days late, and pregnancy results have been neg and ovulation tests low. Im thinking of going to the dr soon to get checked out, but just want to know if I should wait it out or if now would be best. Btw, ive been overly tired lately, and went from eating a bunch to not having an appetite at all... ## It's best to have things checked out, but most likely there is nothing to worry about and it's just from stopping the OCs. Your body...

I have been taking Diane for the last 9 months and have now stopped because my doctor told me to take a break for 3 months. However it's been at least 7 days longer than my normal cycle when I used to be on the pill, and I still haven't gotten my period. Is this normal? Or could there be another explanation?

Hi ..I was adviced by my doctor to take regestrone for 5 days so that I can have early periods as I wanted to get my cycle dates changed. I went through an intercourse just the day before i started this medicine..its been 2 days that i have stopped taking regestrone but I am not getting my periods... I am really worried... my cycle starts from 2nd ... Can you please advice me what may be the reason why I am not getting my periods after stopping regestrone? ## Hello, Jimmy! How are you? It may not have worked for you, usually it takes about 10 days or so for the progesterone in this to do its job. Alternatively, if you've been engaging in intercourse, there's a chance that you could be pregnant. Have you been checked for pregnancy, yet? ## Hi, I took regestron for 3 days. 2 5mg t...

I was taking this pill for a few months, and i wasn't very good at taking it daily. never had any problems while taking it when it comes to missing period they were just very light which my doc. said was normal for this pill. I stopped taking it about a month ago (i believe). I have very sensitive and tender nipples, I have had cramps for the past 2 days and have yet to see any sign of my period...I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and both neg. whats going on? ## Well, they are hormonal based contraceptives and your body does get used to having these extra hormones added, when you've taken them for a few months. Thus, these symptoms might just be caused by your body trying to readjust to not having the additional added hormones now. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. How l...

I was taking dronis 20 since 2 years. Now I have stopped taking since my last LMP on 1 may as I want to convince. However I have not have got period's till now. I am.worried as my baby plan is getting delayed. I am not sure if there is any side effects of it for taking 2 years . ## Stopping it abruptly may have thrown of your natural hormonal balance, according to NIH reports and it may take several months for your body to adjust so things return to normal and you are able to become pregnant. Have you double checked with a doctor? Are you on any other medications? Do you have any diagnosed medical conditions?

I've been on Quasense for about 6-7 weeks. I know they say to stick it out for 2-3 months. But between the constant bleeding and cramps I don't want to be on it anymore. I don't even use it for birth control, I just didn't want my period so often. I go on vacation in 10 days, if I stopped taking it now how long might my period last? Remember I've only been on it for about 6 weeks. ## There's really no definitive way to say, it can vary from person to person and depend on your body's reaction to the hormones in it. The withdrawal bleeding could last a week, or so. Have you consulted your doctor?

I would like to stop taking Detrol LA. Do I need to stop at once or go off of it slowly. My eyes have been getting worse since being on the drug. ## It really depends on how long you have been taking it regularly, if it has been several months to a year or more, then you will probably need to slowly taper off of it. You should speak with your doctor about the problems you are having with it and they can probably help you with the best way to stop taking it. Anytime you are taking a med for a long period of time, your body gets used to having it, this is called Dependence and if you try to stop suddenly, you will suffer some mild withdrawal symptoms. ## I loved that Detrol let me sleep through the night Besides dry eye and throat I’m dizzy and exhausted a lot and I get out of breat...

Hi , am 42 years old and since last 3 months have irregular periods my doc gave Deviry form 6th to 25 th day. after stopping i feel i got my periods but very light and they are still there in the 10th day now. I called up the doc and she said to start Deviry sooner as i was supposed to start it from 15th -25th day of my next cycle. is it ok if i start it again ?. my ultrasounds and other tests are normal .she says it is hormonal imbalance. shall i let it work on its own or keep taking Deviry, i don't want to take too much of medication. ## Hello, June! How are you doing? Hormonal changes are very common once a woman enters her 40's and most of us do experience some oddities, due to the fact that we may no longer ovulate each month. However, if all of your evaluations were normal...

Is there any way of stopping or slowing down period with Sprintec? Get annoyed Friday will make 15 days of bleeding & no signs of slowing down :( been to Dr but hate to keep taking different pills, thought about getting the IUD but not sure? Thanks! ## Yes, according to the FDA usage listings, oral contraceptives may help with such a problem, though it could take anywhere from one to 3 months. However, they contain hormones, so for many women, they can help balance them back out for you to eliminate such a problem. Typical side effects are listed as including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was put on sprintec 28 6weeks postpartum because I started bleeding non stop with big clots with it. They put me on sp...

I took plan B on Jan 25 2015. On Jan 26 2015 my period came on and then again on Feb 6 2015. On Feb 16 2015 I went to the ER because I was having massive bleeding and thought I was having a miscarriage. I was given an imaging ultrasound and was told that I have a moderate size fibroid. I saw my OBGYN and was told that I have a fibroid the size of a quarter and she wouldn't show me the pics after I asked. She hasn't done a physical examination at all since I started seeing her. She just did blood work because I told her that Im always tired and she prescribed blood pressure meds. She also prescribe medroxyprogesterone 10mg 1 per day every day. My period completely stopped and on March 30 2015 I decided to stop taking it since my stomach is hard and forming like im pregnant. I hav...

I had a catheter ablation for atrial flutter in April and began weaning off bystolic in May after 3 months on the medication as my HR was consistently below 60 even post-ablation. I weaned off over a 10 day period and my last pill was on May 21. Since my last bystolic my HR has been fluctuating a lot and I just haven't felt 'normal'. My HR during the day can fluctuate between 70-100. With 2-3 hour periods some days where's resting HR is in the high 90s. For some reason in the evening (around 6pm) my HR calms down and is in the 60s and stays there until I wake up the next morning. I also haven't felt like doing much during the day and have some lightheadedness/more labored breathing when my HR is elevated to the 80s and 90s during the day (even if just sitting on the ...

Hi, I was on sprintec for nearly 4 years and everything was fine when I was on it. But do to health problems with my gallbladder I had to quit taking it. It's been nearly 4 months and I still haven't had a normal period. I think I had one that lasted 3 days and then another one about a week ago that only lasted one day. Is this normal since I was on it for so long? ## Hello, Lauren! How are you? Yes, it can take several months for your body to balance your hormones back out on its own. It was used to relying on the oral contraceptives to control them. However, as long as your last pap smear was normal and your doctor sees no reason to be concerned, then it's nothing to worry about. According to the FDA, you may experience other withdrawal effects, such as irritability, PMS-l...
