I went to the clinic because I was experiencing pains in my womb. The nurse prescribed me doxytet and almost every time I drink the tablet I vomit. Should I stop or jus continue? What happens if stop the antibiotics before I finish them ## Hello, Priss! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. If you're getting sick right after taking it, then you're not really absorbing any of the antibiotic, because it's not staying in your stomach long enough. This antibiotic can cause some nausea as a side effect, but it really shouldn't be that severe. Have you returned to the clinic? You may just need to try a different medication.

I would like to know how people are reacting to name brand Micardis 40 mg? I just started and am not sure if the side effects will get better over time. I.e., worse back pain (already have chronic back pain but seems to be worse since starting this), worse anxiety and depression, headache, stomach upset, general aches and pains in joints. I was on 80 mg of Lisinopril for 10 years ~ yes, 10 years! I had no problems with side effects or at least I thought I didn’t, but after being on it about 7 years I started to get bouts of severe gastritis which I blamed on too many steroid shots and also tinnitus. I had no idea that BP pills could cause so many long term side effects. I had to get off them when my pharmacy switched to Solco brand and they were terrible! Instant headache and seve...

I took Diovan brand 320-12.5mg for a very long time. The generic became available. I have a history of reacting to drugs and wanted to stay with the Sandoz which I've been told is a generic to Diovan and Sandoz company is the generic company of Novartis who originally made Diovan brand. By hopping from one drug store to another I found Valsartan Hydrochlorathiazide tablets 320-12.5 mg marked identical to the brand drug with the HIL and NVR on the pink oval pill. I paid generic price. Soon pharmacy ran out and told me they would not be getting anymore Sandoz Valsartan HCTZ 320-12.5mg. I was told to go to other pharmacies and maybe they would have some on their shelf. I did, I even went out of state and was able to buy 90 days but was told that's it, no more will be available. The...

My doctor prescribed Xarelto for 30 days and then to stop. I am freaked out because everything I read says 'dont stop taking', 'irreversible'. I am over reacting or is there cause for concern? ## Hello, Scot! How are you? No, this is sometimes used short-term. The directives from the FDA not to stop taking it, means you shouldn't do so on your own, without your doctor's approval. As to the irreversible, that refers to bleeding, there is no way to stop it, if someone starts bleeding, while taking this. It has to stop on its own, if it stops, at all. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am taking nature's bounty, magnesium 250mg for leg cramps. I am experiencing some break outs. Although sulfa isn't listed in the ingredients. Does it contain sulfa ## No, they do not. However, it could just be your body reacting to the magnesium itself. While, over the long-term, magnesium can help resolve acne, suddenly starting it may cause brief unexpected break outs, just like when you start any other acne medication. You should also be aware that as reported by the U.S. FDA, it may cause diarrhea. That said, you should be aware that leg cramps are most often caused by being low in potassium, they are not caused as often by low levels of magnesium and calcium. Thus, you may get better results by improving your calcium intake. Your doctor should be able to do a simple blood...

I was taking .100 of Levothyroxine and my dr. said that it was slightly over corrected...now I am taking .75 and have already gained almost 2 pounds in 5 days. I am really frustrated! My bloodwork says one thing, but my body is reacting differently...any advise? Is there a dose between .100 and .75? ## yes-there is a dose of .50 of levothyroxine. ## Theres isn't a tablet in the exact dose between but a lot of people cut up a second tablet to achieve the desired dose, or alternate their dose every other day. For example you could cut a .25 tablet in half each day and take that along with your 75 you are currently taking so that it brings you to 87.5 daily. ## Weight gain is a normal side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports. What is croscarmellose sodium made from? Could it be made from corn? ## Hi Bee, According to an article on wikipedia, Croscarmellose is reportedly made by a process of mixing crude cellulose in with sodium hydroxide and then taking the cellulose and reacting it with sodium monochloroacetate to form sodium carboxymethylcellulose (which is the chemical name for it). Most reports I found suggest that the cellulose being used is made from corn. However you might still want to contact the manufacturer of whatever pill you're taking just to be on the safe side if it's an ingredient you need to watch out for. I hope this helps!
