Need any information on what Doctors prescribe methadone.. ## Hello, Tony! How are you? If you require it for addiction/maintenance, then your only option is a clinic. A private practice doctor isn't allowed to prescribe it for that. However, if you require it for pain, then any doctor can prescribe, but most will be reluctant to do so, due to it's highly addictive tendencies. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can anyone suggest a doctor in that area?

Need a doctor in Atlanta GA for Methadone for Pain. Its the only thing that has helped relieve back pain and without it, theres no point. Ive been on a low dose. Because of people overdosing and dying, we are now treated as criminals - and due to liability issues, doctor after doctor no longer prescribes. No doctor will help me so Im now panicking because I dont want to be in debilitating pain. Plus in our healthcare system, doctors get paid by insurance for procedures and so theyw ant to to that cuz they make more than a drug script ## Hi MAT, Here is a list of doctors who can prescribe methadone, suboxone, and subutex in the Atlanta, GA area. methadonedocs.com/methadone-suboxone-doctors/Georgia-Ga/Atlanta.aspx Also, have you ever considered trying acupuncture or essential oils? My name is David, Ive lived in Atlanta for years and was on 1mg xanax 3x a day, and for knee replacement Percocet 10 3x a day. My Dr. Is moving and I need a Dr. quick. I live in Gwinnett Co. please help, thanks. ## Im on xanax and have been on percocet the past 8 years. My Dr. has to move and gave me 3 weeks notice. Please help. ## Hello, David! How are you? I"m sorry about the problem that you're having. Is there a chance that your doctor could refer you to a colleague, before he leaves? That might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need. Due to the new directives set forth by the DEA last year, most doctors are going to be reluctant to prescribe both medications and will refer you to specialists for treatment. my doctor in marietta prescribed my ultram for my sciatica. it is a mild narcotic. the new dr i went to wont prescribe it. are there any doctors that give out meds easy? ## Hello, Regina! How are you? No, all doctors must be very picky and careful about prescribing, now. If they are thought to be prescribing improperly, they can lose their license to practice medicine and face jail time. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And as to having it prescribe, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year. What is your general location? That may help ...

I have been prescibed oxycodone for pain from 3 surgeries. I have worked for my company for almost 7 years. I recently moved to atlanta and now im being told that I cannot work if im taking pain meds even though it has been prescribed by my doctor and I have used it for the past 5 years and never had an issue until now. Can they do that or does the law covers me can anyone help. ## Help, Jbliss! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. Much of it really depends on what your job entails. There are certain jobs that are considered unsafe to perform under the influence of such medications, even if a doctor has ordered them, such as driving a truck, operating heavy machinery, or supervising those that do. There are some legal protections, but they don't apply in all ...

My mother was prescribed methadone for her Neuropathy while living in Florida. Since then she has moved back to Michigan by necessity. She left her job to move to Georgia with her husband who was a military vet. He got OxyContin from the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta for his back issues. With her having no insurance he used to share with her. Now he's dead and we moved her back here to Michigan. She still has no insurance except Medicare A&B. she's almost out of meds and the pain she will experience is excruciating. The docs she has seen here all want her to jump thru hoops to make sure she's not a drug addict. How can we get her the meds she needs without spending her ssi check all on doctors who give her no help? ## @Anthony, Sorry to hear about your mom's situation. If...

I really need help. I've been on opiates for 4 years for a back injury resulting in surgery. I am addicted of course and ready to get my life back. I have taken suboxen but get irritable, depressed, and a headache that won't go away for the entire time I am on them. I need to find a dr that prescribes subutex. Can someone please help me? I have a family that needs their wife and mom back. Thanks ## Well, the first question is, has your body simply become dependent on them, or are you actually addicted? Being addicted means that you've been abusing them, taking more and more than you've been prescribed, because you like the effect they have on you, so keep that in mind, before you answer the question. If you've only been taking them in therapeutic amounts as prescribe...

My pain doctor prescribed OxyContin (Oxycodone ER) 30mg for pelvic pain. However, I can't seem to find them in the Atlanta, GA surrounding area. Can someone tell me why? ## I live in the U.K. and my Dr prescribed 120 mg (5 times a day), with 40 mg for breakthrough pain. I can only assume I must be the only person on this amount as I'm having a similar issue. ## dkc, how have you been checking for it with the pharmacies? Because, if you are just calling, or even going in and asking them, without showing them your actual prescription, then you aren't likely to be getting an honest answer. To try to help prevent theft, and diversion, since this is a very commonly abused medication, they will usually just tell a random person asking that they do not carry it, or it is out of sto...

I need dr in the north Atlanta area that is actually willing to write a pain prescription and not just do expensive procedures ## Hello, Kitty! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to whether or not they will prescribe medications that I can refer to for you. Generally, possibly habit forming drugs are the last choice for treatment, to be used only when the other treatment options have failed. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? With many pain specialists being overwhelmed right now, that would like be the easiest and speediest way to find the help you need.

Help, I need a doctor in Atlanta Georgia that can see me pretty quick and refill my Oxycontin (which are for my 4 herniated disks that keep me in constant pain). We just relocated from Arkansas and I will be out of meds on Saturday and need a doctor quick. PLEASE HELP. ## I'm sorry, I know this type of thing is very troublesome, but due to the new laws, I doubt you're going to get in anywhere that fast to a new prescription. If you're a chronic pain patient that requires long-term pain management, a regular doctor can no longer prescribe them, they have to be prescribed by a specialist that is trained to treat pain. Learn more Oxycontin details here. And most places have gotten a lot busier since these laws were put in place and everyone has to switch to pain management. Is ...

I was told Friday by my Pain Management Doctor at my monthly appointment that the DEA was implementing a new law dictating to doctors on how much pain medication they could prescribe per patient per day. It could be equal to no more than 120 mg of Morphine per day per patient and they had to comply within 3 months for all of their patients. I am trying to find out as much information on this as possible. I don't know if my Pain Management Doctor is stating fact or if he is just running scared and if he is stating fact, I don't know if this is federal or state (Alabama) mandated. I spoke directly with the Southeastern division of the DEA in Atlanta this morning and they are not aware of any law of this nature coming into effect and I also contacted another pain clinic locally tha...

I am new to Georgia. I live about 45 minutes south of Atlanta. My Dr. back home prescribed me Hydrocodone and/or Tramadol for menstrual pains. My menstrual pains have inconvenienced me 5 days a month for as long as I could remember until I met my Dr. back home. I don't want to waste the time or money going to a Dr. here for him to tell me to take 800mg Ibuprofen and call it a day. Any recommendations for doctors who are open minded to pain medication? ## Hi, Brooke! Sorry about the pain you've suffered. It isn't that doctors aren't open minded and don't want to treat pain, it's that there are restrictions on what they can prescribe, why they can prescribe it, how much they can prescribe and for how long they can prescribe it. Since this is related to your menstru...
