Best Medication to Treat Pneumonia ## Antibiotics are most commonly used, since bacteria is what causes the initial infection in the lungs. However, there is no particular best one, your doctor will prescribe according to how severe it is as well as their experience on which has worked best for other people being treated for a similar condition. Have you seen a doctor for this? ## i have suffered in pneumonia from childhood still today now iam 22 year old ## I have been seeing doctors since March. The pulmonologist released me because the last x-ray showed no infection or aspiration. I still have some pain and discomfort in my chestand wonder why is it taking so long to get back to normal.

I am taking quadtab 4 tab once a day before breakfast, is it normal that i encounter non stop coughing for almost 10 mins with vomiting? Or i have to see my doctor too? But my doctor said that i am having bibasal pneumonia, is it ok that my ptb test was negative?

I have been sick for a week. I have been coughing a lot & wheezing. I have a lot of phlegm but can't cough it up. I started using essential oils & it seems to be helping some. Could I have pneumonia? ## It is possible, however, there are also other possibilities, according to the NIH, such as a cold, asthma, congestive heart failure, bronchitis, and etc. However, only your doctor can give you a definitive diagnosis. And regardless of which condition might be causing these symptoms, essential oils are not going to cure it. Hi, I am wanting to conceive again, as I've had irregular periods for a long time now, especially after losing our first baby to pneumonia. I am having irregular periods, to hardly any. It's been nearly one year. The doctor gave me norithisterone. It brought on one period, but it has not come on this month, so I did a pregnancy test the day I was late and it was negative, yet I felt bloated and moody!! Is penicillin v a effective treatment for walking pneumonia? ## Penicillin is a broad spectrum antibiotic that can be used to treat many types of infections. If your doctor prescribed it, then obviously they think it is the right antibiotic for you. Please follow their usage and dosage instructions.

Do you recommend another antibiotic? ## I'd think that after having it for several months, it would take awhile for you to recover, especially since your lungs weren't able to operate at full capacity for awhile. I was prescribed two amoxicillins for pneumonia. Amoxicillin 500mg and Amoxicillin /K Clav 875-125. Im suppose to take both twice a day and levofloxacin 750mg once a day. If I want to take a few drinks while on this medication, should I skip a dose just this one time? I have a wedding to go to. I was given this medication to treat pneumonia. ## Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, the active ingredients in Augmentin, is an antibiotic. And drinking while taking it may cause worsening of the side effects, such as nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. The way I usually explain it is by saying consider one drink to be the same as having 2 and so on. No you shouldn't skip a dose, but you do need to be careful and let someone else do the driving. I'm sure that I have walking pneumonia and I have some pentrexyl at home. I've been sick for quite a while and thought it was copd, but today I got a runny nose and I'm pretty sick...no energy, chills, wheezing, etc. I've been reading about this and it says that antibiotics cure it and I was wondering if this particular one would help. I have had chronic UTI's my whole life but ran into real problems since 1998 after cystocele/rectocele repair. I had a suprapubic catheter for a few days. I got a nosocomial infection in hospital. Before all my UTIs were E. Coli. I got Kleibsiella pneumonia in my urine & over the years a variety of others. I am on cephalexin 250mg prophylactically because I have interstitial cystitis for the last 10 years. my 3 yrs.old daughter was seen thru her xray and cbc with atypical pneumonia she was given 2.5 ml of tergecef for 2x a day.we are not yet advised to be admitted to the hospital if she will not have a fever.i'm just worried are we safe at home or should we admit her already she has been vomitting clear phlegm was it a good sign that tergecef is working? thank you.
