I had a script for 90 xanax. Pharmacist gave me 60 but is making me wait for the other 30 days. Are they allowed to do this? When this has happened before, I got more pills the following day. What is the law? ## andy, what is the reason he gave you for having to wait on the remaining 30 ? What are the directions on the prescription ? ## Dave. Three a day, but the pharmacist never informed me. He shills have stated he was short and to keep me safe he wanted me to wait. I would have understand If. I was treated like a piece of dirt. I have been clean from drugs for years and suboxone saved my life. I'm 52. Dignity is my issue... ## andy, it is common for pharmacist to do that. As long as you only take them as prescribed, you won't run out.

OversyHad dilaudid 8miug recently Pres. 3 daily. Pharacist caused all kind of trouble. Stating he disagrees with the. Dr. Ultimately causing my insurance to demand a pre authorization and then refusing to allow me to pay cash until the Dr.had to call him personally. Did the pharm ## No, the pharmacist did nothing wrong. If he feels he has reason to be concerned about a controlled substance prescription, he can and should speak up about it. He is, after all, held responsible for what moves through his pharmacy. Pharmacists are taught to question any medication prescriptions that they feel may be suspicious. Whatever his reasoning was, whether he though it looked funny as written, or he was concerned about the dosage and amount, he obviously had a valid enough point to get the attention o...

Hi, I was prescribed seconal for insomnia and when I went to my usual pharmacy, I was told they don't carry it. I then went to several of the big, chains Pharmacies and was told the same thing along with the fact they they wouldn't even order it. They recommended trying an independent pharmacy. I then went to several of those and was told the same, with the recommendation to try the bigger, chain ones!!! Is Seconal impossible to get even with a legit doctor's prescription?!?! If not, does anyone know ANYone in LA/Long Beach area that does carry the drug? This is insane. ## Hello, Walter! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. I'd suggest trying a hospital pharmacy or a compounding pharmacy, both tend to keep a larger supply of more unusual m...

I take 6.3/1 bunavail twice a day, I've been taking it for just over two weeks ,my pharmacy didn't have it in stock when I went to pick up my script today but I have 3 zubsolve left over from when I first got clean, can I take them in substitute for the day to stop my withdrawals? Or would it make things worse? ## Too late to help you now, but taken in an equivalent dosage which can be found on the manufacturers website you will have no issues. I do believe that bunavail 6.3mg/1mg applied via the buccal method is equipotent to one 12mg/3mg Suboxone film taken sublingually or zubsolv 8.6mg/2.1mg. I am not a doctor or pharmacist, I believe my writtintgs to be accurate but please do your own research.

I have not tried them. He says people like them. There are some out there make my depression worse. I take teva really good for me. My pharmacy carries a brand called Sun any information ## Hello, Rita! How are you? What medication are you asking about? You forgot to mention it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of most antidepressants as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight changes.

Is it possible for pharmacist to provide powdered Rx if tablets no longer manufactured? Some of the old time pharmacists still concoct some Rx, although I'm only familiar with them doing cremes. The capsules are useless, as is Fioricet, and I've taken tablets for 25 years. I have even tried Fioricet along with additional aspirin, but no relief. Is there any recourse to get these tablets manufactured in labs again? Tried many things with no relief. ## Hello, Darlene! How are you? Yes, this can be done by compounding pharmacies. Basically, they keep powdered forms of drugs on hand and put them into capsules, as per the dosage your doctor orders. This can still be done for almost any medication, as long as it hasn't been pulled from the market due to health dangers. Is there an...

I am 58 years old, I normally taking Losartan 100mg-12.5 mg as per prescription but a pharmacist refilled the wrong dose i.e., 100mg-25mg and I did not noticed that until 3 weeks later. I took the first 25mg on 11/27/15 and 2 days later I got stomach pain, muscle pain, dark urine, loss of appetite, diarrhea and lost weight 9 pounds in 6 days. I felt better on the seventh day which was 11/3/15. My co-workers said I must have stomach flu because the above symptoms have gone after one week. Now I feel normal. Should I have an evaluation for my kidney and liver? Please advise, thanks! ## Hello, Saks! How are you feeling? The 12.5mg and 25mg listed is actually Hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic that helps remove excess fluid from the body to help lower blood pressure. The symptoms you...

is oxycontin oc still available through any other maker ## No! The only company that makes it is Purdue Pharma and they have discontinued the original product and now only manufacture the new formulation, Oxycontin OP. If you are having a problem with the new formulation, the only thing I can suggest is reporting it to both Purdue and the FDA at the following numbers: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication issues: 888.726.7535 FDA MedWatch number: 800-332-1088 Have you spoken to your doctor about a possible alternative medication?

I recently was told by my pharmacist that oxycontin8o mg.O.C. was no longer available thru Perdue. Perdue reformulated the medication and noe has O.P. instead of O.C>on the pill. This new formulation is very upsetting to my stomach. Please advise. ## There are a few pharmacies that still have the original product available, but this will only be until their supplies run out. Your pharmacist is correct, Purdue has changed the formulation and is no longer making the original product. There have been many complaints that it does not work as well as the original and about it causing unusual side effects. Since you are experiencing more nausea, you should report this to both Purdue and the FDA. You can do so at the following phone numbers: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication ...

i would like to know if anyone know a pharmcy that still has the old oc oxycontin in or around minnesota ## It is actually very doubtful that you will still find it anywhere, due to the fact that Purdue has stopped manufacturing it. The places that had a supply of it where allowed to continue dispensing, but once they ran out, they had no choice but to order in the new formulation. Are there any other questions or comments?

Has anyone else had trouble getting their pain meds filled? I am a pain management patient and when the new law went into effect Walgreens refused to fill all of my script. Told me I fit the profile of an addict. I've been a customer of theirs for years and it was never a problem before the new law. A pharmacist iisn't a doctor what gives them the right to decide how many pills I get? Changed pharmacies and thinking about getting an attorney. ## Hello, Oldilocks! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you've had. It might be due to how much it was written for, since there are limits on how much of any controlled substance can be prescribed, except in the cases of those who have intractable pain from a possibly terminal condition, such as stage 4 cancer. If the pre...

Hi - My Dr prescribed Belviq after several years of healthy eating and exercise with nothing but a slow weight gain. Took all the necessary blood work / tests to rule out anything else. It's working so far but now I've dropped enough weight after one month that I'm just below the 30 BMI now. I go back to see my DR in a week for a weight in and to get a refill but am worried that either my DR or my Pharmacist won't fill it now that I'm below 30. I've read everything possible and don't see this answer out there, and all I see is the statement that Dr can prescribe if a patients INITIAL BMI is above 30, does that mean they can continue to refill / write additional RX after I'm below since I started above? I really haven't lost that much weight and am no ...

Do not put up with this unnecessary interference. Estatest, and most of the generics, are on the DEA exempt list. Go to this link, print it off, and take it to your pharmacist. Send a copy to your insurance. Quit putting up with this garbage. This medication would not be likely to be diverted for use as an anabolic steroid, because bodybuilders would not want the estrogen. And it appears that the FDA is not as stupid about this as they are about a lot of other things. A bright spot on the horizon... ## I am not sure what a DEA exempt list is, Please explain. I am paying $200 for 90 day supply. I will do what I have to do to get insurance to approve

Is it legally required to consult with the pharmacist when filling a new prescription? ## Hello Missy, I was not able to find any federal laws that state this is a requirement, however, I was able to find documentation in the state of California on the pharmacy government website that states "since the early 1990s, California has required pharmacists to consult patients (or their agents) on all new medications or medications with changed directions for use or changed dosing." [1] Patient Consultation I was unable to find any information on other states that claims this to be true so it is entirely possible that it is the only state that has this law. I hope this information helps.

Is it legal to substitute oxycotin 40timerelease abuse deturant when prescribed oxycodone40 abuse deturant. ## Hello, Mark! How are you? Only the time released has the abuse deterrent formulation, right now, thus your pharmacist didn't substitute anything. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I think my pharmacist put the wrong pill in my script bottle and there doesn’t seem to be anyone who can find what it is. The closest is a green one w the same markings k 101 which is Ritalin and I’ve never taken that and I have taken a days worth of the pain meds and I’m scared I took the wrong medicine my pharmacy is closed and closed tomorrow so I can’t get them to confirm. I’m traveling out of state. I’ve talked to pharmacist and poison control. No one can find a light blue pill with these markings. It’s def not green. I’m just scared because I take oxycodone 10 mg for chronic pain but I’ve never taken any kind of Ritalin it adderall or amphetimine and now i May have take it for a whole day and i have to sleep to work tomorrow an...

I wet to my doc 7 days early because of running out early. I took my new script to pharmacy and said, this is early so I won't be using insurance. My doc said you can call him if necessary. Well no one wanted to. They filled two per day for three days. On the third day I asked to fill the rest on insurance for the next day. I was one day early. When I called the next morning to have my daily two filled the pharmacy manager said no we won't be filling it for another 5 days. Go to the ER for your withdrawals but don't come here because I won't give it to you. Has this happened to anyone else???? ## If you run out of suboxone too soon- you might need to increase your dose? That way you won't have to worry about being out of it too soon. Is anyone willing to start a petition with me on Chang.org due to Actavis taking over Watson. For four years I have been satisfied with taking the Watsonn Oxycodone 10mg with no problems. I suffer with severe spinal injury along with arthritis and fibromyalgia. One day about four months ago, I noticed my medication was oval shaped and small. I was not alarmed but after taking it for a week, I noticed that I was in severe and unusual pain with irritability and headaches. I called the pharmacist who also happens to be a friend of mine and she stated that Actavis has now taken over Watson and that all Walgreens stores are now carrying Actavis. Also, Target and Cvs are carrying Actavis. I'm going to try Schnucks but in the meantime, instead of complaining on the forum which is a good st...

Hello, Just curious about a certain topic that just came up and I had never experienced it before. However, it's important to note that I'm more curious about the legality of this situation and not looking for any feedback on any potential actions worth taking. Situation: The other day I went in to see my doctor at a Pain Management clinic, who I've been with for years and have a great relationship with, and something very different was brought up that kind of had us both curious as to the reason behind this. I want to point out I'm not publicly stating the pharmacy name since that's not the focus of my question, but I will state that it is one of the largest chains in the US. The Event: When I was sitting with him he said, "I got a very odd and explicit call fro...
