Worn tendons and damaged ligaments left foot. Is it safe to be on Medrol this long? ## Hello, Oliver! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the health issues you've been experiencing. Other long term effects, as reported by the FDA, may include weight gain, fluid retention, acne, and high blood pressure. Has your doctor tied these issues to your use of this medication? Or do they think there is some other cause? ## Thanks for the q...

Is It a narcotic? How safe is it to take for long period?Does it interfere with any other drug taken? I take it for fibromialgia and rheumathoid arthritis. ## No, Tramadol is not classified as a narcotic, though the FDA has changed their minds on this, several times. Currently, it is classified as a centrally acting analgesic, because it does not control pain as well as a narcotic, but it can cause similar side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. It can react with some other medications, however, there are far too many for me to list. Can you post back with the name of any other drugs you are concerned about? I will gladly check the interactions for you.

I have MVP and take propanolol and was recently prescribed meloxicam for arthritis. Is it okay to take the meloxicam with having mitral valve prolapse? ## Hi debbie, Based on my research, Meloxicam is contraindicated for the treatment of peri-operative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. I haven't found anything specifically relating to MVP in that regard. But one review I've come across from another MVP patient (who happened to be taking Meloxicam), mentioned that their heart was acting strange on this medication and they had to switch to another muscle relaxer. Although it is important to understand that these medications can effect each person differently, so unfortunately the only way to know for sure how it effects you, is to go by trial and ...
