Nyquil Pills

I am on 10 mg of lexapro which I take when I wake up. I got a head cold and took 2 nyquil at 11:30pm. I didn't even think about the meds till after. I'm a little nervous because I looked it up after the fact. It's been about 20 mins I hope I'll be ok. ## @ro pal, I'm really glad you took some time to post this because there actually is a drug interaction listed between Lexapro and Nyquil. The University of Maryland Medical Center states that using the two together may increase blood levels of dextromethorphan (one of the main active ingredients in Nyquil) potentially increasing your risk of serious adverse effects. I have had a couple of bad colds and the flu over the last 6 months. I took NyQuil b cause it's a multi symptom cold and flu reliever. What a surprise when I took it with the suboxone, it helped me better with the pain I expierence. I suffer from multiple medical problems and had many surgeries. Now, I'm not saying 2 go and do this 4 nothing, but, it has really helped me. ( maybe, b cause of the liquid acetaminophen in it. I see both nyquil and amoxicillin have acetaminophen. I take amoxicillin once daily for hip pain. I have very bad cold and need a Nyquil. Can I take it. Can you take Augmentin with NyQuil capsules? ## It should be fine as long as you're following the instructions that came with your prescription. Also, it's not recommended to drink alcohol when taking NyQuil. Other than that, I don't see interactions listed between Augmentin and any of the ingredients found in NyQuil [1]. If you still have concerns, you may wish to double check with your pharmacist.

can you take nyquil if you are on metoprol tar 25 mg ## If you are taking the Metoprolol to treat high blood pressure and/or a cardiac condition, I'd advise proceeding with caution. Learn more Metoprolol details here. The reason I am saying that is because most Nyquil formulations contain antihistamines and many of them can cause elevations in blood pressure and heart rate. Thus, you should check with your doctor first, to see which one is safe for you to use. Are you on any other medications?

I was prescribed Amox TR-K CLV 875-125 MG Tab from my doctor, however I still feel the symptoms of the cold. I've also read that Amox does not cure the common cold. I have been in and out of jail and rehabs for the last year. I have finally found someone I love, got a job and I'm sincerely trying to live right. Since I have left rehab I cannot sleep, so I take large amounts of NyQuil to help me rest. I was drug tested at work the other day and it came back positive for cocaine. I am suspended from work now and that is a violation of my drug court so I'm in trouble with the law again. I took some Nyquil Monday night and Tuesday night but I didn't take any on Wednesday. Thursday afternoon I may have to take a drug test. Will Nyquil show up possitive for benzo's?? I keep testing positive for benzo's and honestly havent takin any my freedom is on the line and I'm really freakin out ## Well, Benzodiazepines are about the one thing it isn't listed as causing false positives for, so it really wouldn't surprise me if it did. My grandson who is in his twenties had a terrible earache. I gave him a zolpidem, a trazodone, excedrin and nyquil. He was still hurting so I gave him a 50 milligram tramadol. Now I am worried about how it will affect him. He is also on antibiotics. Is he going to be okay? Should I stay awake and monitor him? ## Tramadol is mainly used for depression or anxiety, insomnia so not for sure why that would be a good choice since he already had so many other drugs in him. I think he probably was very groggy after sleeping quite a bit but def over medicated. I would have checked every hour. Hope he is better now.
