What is the active ingredient of this tablet? How many of zolfresh 10mg are considered a normal dose? ## Hi Navi, I'd sure like to hope that you're not "that person" overdosing on Zolfresh. Based on my research, 10 mgs daily of the immediate release formula is the maximum recommended dose of Zolfresh (Zolpidem). There's really no good reason for a person to take anything over that; especially 50x that!! According to a drug monograph on wikipedia, an overdose of Zolpidem may lead to too much sedation as well as impaired respiratory function. Either of these could potentially develop into a coma, & in some cases death. Something very important to remember or even take note of, is that Zolpidem overdosage can be remedied with what's called a benzodiazepine recep...

is this cerizine ia a sleeping tablet?. FOR WHAT PURPUS IT WILL USE? MINIMUM HOW MG TAKE A NORMAL ASTHMA PATIENT ## No, this is not a sleeping pill. Cetirizine, the active ingredient in Zyrtec, is an antihistamine that is used to treat or prevent allergy symptoms, however, it can cause drowsiness in some people, as a side effect. As to how much of a dosage you should take, you should really consult your doctor, especially if you are on any other medications and have other health conditions. The standard dose is usually 10mgs, once a day. Has your doctor advised you to use this? ## I've taken 20 cetzine tablets each of 10 mg few months back. But due to stress i didnt slept that night and nothing happened so far. Why nothing happened? Will there be any side effects in future? ## Its gud

Can Serez 25mg a night eventually causes sleepless nights? My patient is taking it at night and she can't for the past 7months and she can't sleep at night anymore? ## Serez is listed as containing the active ingredient Quetiapine, which is an atypical antipsychotic that's used to treat various mental health issues, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. As far as side effects are concerned, has your patient mentioned if the sleeplessness was attributed to insomnia or some other side effect keeping her from getting a good night's rest? From what I could gather, "unusual dreams" happen to be one of many possible side effects that I find could alter one's sleep patterns. However, a more complete list of side effects can be found here: nlm.nih.gov/medlinepl...

Can I take 500mg vitamin B12 tablets for a month straight? On one tablet a day, I had a low level of vitamin B12 due to poor absorption. My current level of B12 is around 350 but I still experience numbness in my hands when I sleep on my sides. So I cant sleep on my side. I also tend to forget things sometimes. ## What has your doctor advised? 350 is considered to be in the normal range, which goes from 200 to 900. So, you should consult your doctor, because it really depends on how poor your absorption is, a supplement may be necessary to keep your level in the normal range. However, you do have to be careful, because getting your level to high can also be dangerous. ## Hi Verwon, Thanks for the reply. I should probably take a test before taking vitamin b12 pills. I have been taking .5 mg xanax every night for the last 8 months to fall asleep. It actually works, but I think I'm having side effects. I used to wake up 3 times per night before Xanax, and now I sleep through the night, but I wake up exhausted and sluggish. I'm having memory problems and I don't feel alert. Am I addicted? Can I just stop, since it's such a low dose? Do I have to reduce slowly? It's only .5 mg per night. Any ideas?? HELP! ## Those are normal side effects for Xanax. When you use something regularly and your body is used to having it, it isn't considered addiction, it is actually called dependence. An addict has to keep using more and more of something, because they like the effects they get from it and must keep increasing the amount the use, bec...

Hi there, My husband who suffers from depression and sleeping problems has been taking Ivedal for years now and he does not just take one but two or three per night, which is really too much of course. For the past few months, he is very tearful, cries in the morning a lot without any particular reason. I was wondering if Ivedal could be the cause of this tearfulness. The reason I am asking is that I used to take Ivedal myself for a couple of months and I remember being depressed and tearful as well. So I stopped it and things went thankfully back to normal. I know my husband is going through a depression and so, it makes him sad, but this tearfulness is weird. I haven't found this as a list of side-effects of Ivedal but I thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks for your feedback. ## Hi ...

I am on suboxone just started today and was induced at the office after being on methadone for two years and the induction was great no PW's at all. My question is this when I was on methadone I slept great, I mean awesome, but tonight I can't seem to get to sleep since starting the suboxone. How long does it take on suboxone do you start to sleep normally again. I hate this part when starting a new med. lol. Just would like to know when I will sleep normal again. Thanks for any feedback in advance. ## Unfortunately, there is no way anyone can give you a definitive timeline, it depends on you and how your body reacts to changing medications. The FDA warns that Suboxone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry m...

If a patient of age 23 takes Restyl 0.5 mg how much time does it takes to start its effect and how many hours will they sleep? ## Restyl 0.5 (and other strengths) are prescribed for insomnia (lack of ability to sleep). As to how long the effects last, generally a person of the age you indicate probably could potentially sleep anywhere from 4-8 hours, depending on their susceptibility to the drug and also whether they have ingested any alcohol or other "downer" drugs. It would be best to ask your doctor about the proper use of Restyl. ## Restyl actually contains the active ingredient Alprazolam, which is a Benzodiazepine, it is most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. It is normally only given to treat insomnia if it is very severe and has been resistant to othe...

i take xanax daily and have been for years . I have taken as few as 2 and as much as 4 rarely 5. . They only make me sleepy if i take more than 3 a day . i took one that looked diff than the ones I normally take. It was still blue and round but larger and scored so much so it looked like it would be easier to break in 1/2.. some of them are scored but they crumble if you try yo break them in 1/2. Theyhad markings on both sides but don't remember & I have been sleeping on and off for 24 hours. I may sleep 5-6 hours a night but VERY RARELY ANY MORE . I even drank a Red Bull one time and still went to sleep . i feel i could go to sleep now. ## Well go to sleep than but did you have a specific question? I'm pretty sure with that type of self medicating you are not speaking about...

Hello there, My son has been on Intuniv ER 1mg for four days. The Dr says give it time, but how much time he didnt say. My son takes it at 8am, and at 2pm each day he is tired. after a nap, still tired for the rest of the day. Anyone know how long this might last? Thanks ## Intuniv ER contains the active ingredient Guanfacine, it is used to lower blood pressure and treat ADHD. Drowsiness and fatigue are normal side effects, they should taper off as his body gets used to the medication, this could take from 2 weeks to a month. If it gets worse or does not improve, then make sure to speak to your doctor, again. Other side effects can include: headache, constipation and loss of appetite. You can read more on the medication itself here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## The sid...

Im suffering from slip disc & right knee pain. Recently Doctor has prescribed GABAPENTIN 300mg pill one per day to be taken only at night. Two hours after taking, I felt very dizzy, drowsy & nausea an it continues for the next 24 hours. Feel very sleepy and cant concentrate on my work. Should I continue or stop? Pls advice. ## Hello, Amoy! How are you? Those can be normal side effects of this medication, as reported by the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. They should go away, in a few weeks, once your body adjusts to the medication. If they don't, or if they get severe, then you should consult your doctor as you may need to try a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have a hemorroid a...

The NIH lists the typical side effects for this one as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations, and sleep actions. Have you tried any others? Have you consulted a doctor? What is your normal sleep pattern? Do you ingest a lot of caffeine and sugar each day? ## I had taken alprax for few years and i have become so addicted that i used to send my children even at midnight with prescription for this medici...

Another problem with generic not feeling my normal self as with Watson mfg. After two weeks I'm irritable moody cry easily and problems sleeping...don't dare to be sociable. Same problems as the generic Sunco... Why aren't these regulated better? This is my life. ## Hello, Laura! How are you? Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredient, by as much as plus or minus 20%. However, they do not have to measure against each other, only against the name brand. This was done to help bring generics to market faster, in hopes of keeping prices lower. The FDA considers this an acceptable therapeutic window and, for most people, it doesn't cause a problem. But some people are sensitive to medications ...
