Why wouldn't this work? 1% Ivermectin solution is commonly available from feed stores. ## Hi ralft, From what I could gather, Soolantra is just another brand name for Ivermectin, but is reported to come in the form of a topical cream as opposed to the generic liquid solution you're describing. What purpose are you using it for though? The MayoClinic lists Ivermectin as being used for treating worm infections, diarrhea, and onchocerciasis (also known as river blindness). However, some other sites go on to note that the topical form may be used for rosacea as well. So being that there are two forms of Ivermectin, my guess is that a vet would probably be your best bet for determining which form of Ivermectin is better suited for the horse, including the type of condition, dosing, a...

20 years ago I was blacking out over a period of time so went to the ER. Had BP of 21/14. Literally. How common is this? I was awake and they asked me why I was still alive. I still wonder to this day. Took me 60 days to get back to normal. Docs concluded allergy. Should I be dead? ## @klcbva, This is honestly the first time I've ever heard of anyone having a blood pressure THAT low (21/41). So it's probably not very common at all and it's no wonder you were blacking out on a regular basis because of it... Information from the mayoclinic suggests that big plunges in blood pressure due to allergic reactions can be life threatening. But as to how close you may have been to death, I haven't found any specific details mentioning exact figures. Although my guess is that you w...

I have been on gabapentin for a about 4 months. Just in the past 4 weeks I have noticed horrible muscle pain in both legs (taking the med for nerve pain in left leg). I don't see the pain doctor until after Christmas, so was wanting to know if anyone else has experienced this, yet another, pain. ## Hi Linda, Based on my research, pain or swelling in the arms or legs is one of the less common side effects of Gabapentin. You can follow the link for more info: mayoclinic.com/health/drug-information/DR600709/DSECTION=side-effects I hope this helps! ## Thank you for the info. I take so many meds it might be hard to decide which one might be causing this new pain. I am having a spinal cord stimulator put in after the first part of the year. I am hoping I can get off all meds after that:) ...

Has anyone else gotten severely dry skin while taking welchol? I've had mildly dry skin all my life, but since getting on welchol about 9 months ago, my finger tips get so dry they crack. ## The Mayo Clinic has quite an extended list of side effects pertaining to this drug, but oddly enough, I can't seem to find any side effects of WelChol (Colesevelam) that relate to dry skin. Maybe you can see if there's anything listed there that might be in line with what you're experiencing: mayoclinic.com/health/drug-information/DR600465/DSECTION=side-effects Learn More: WelChol Details The only conclusion I can reach is that the medication may be making you dehydrated at a much quicker rate than you might usually be. So drinking lots of water may help lessen the severity of dry sk...

will it be ok to take 2 x 500mg paracetamol and then 2.5hrs later take 1 tramadol hydrochloride 50mg ? ## Hi charlie, From what I could gather, the maximum amount of paracetamol (acetaminophen) for adults is 1 gram (1000 mg) per dose - up to 4000 mg daily. So with that in mind, it is possible to take two 500mg tabs at once. Safety is another concern though with regards to liver damage, if you plan on taking such a high dosage for any prolonged period of time. But as far as drug interactions go, there shouldn't be any problem taking Tramadol shortly thereafter. According to the MayoClinic, there is actually a Tramadol + Acetaminophen combination that is available for pain relief. When used together, the combination is said to provide better pain relief than either medicine used alone...
