Hi, I am prescribed oxycodone HCL 10mg. This medicine helps a lot with my chronic pain but this time when I received my medicine it had this kind in my bottle; the ones with the np and 12 on it. When I take it, it has no affect on my pain. Can you tell me why? What do you recommend? ## I agree th np 12 oxycodone is not like the flat round ones. Thought I must have bumped my knee, as it was a little stiff and sore 2 days ago, but I didn't bump it on anything I recall. Yesterday, it increased to the point of not being able to bend it without extreme pain, and swelling has come on. Took 2 panadol, and the pain receded, if I didn't move it. Today it is worse, and I can't do almost anything. It's a painful struggle to get to the toilet, and sitting is out of the question. I am stuck on my bed for the greater part. If I move it at all, it takes around an hour for the pain to back off. I have been taking amytripyline for about six months for fybromyalgia pain. My doctor prescribed me the little blue pills in 25mg of which I take six. Only side effects have been dry mouth and slight constipation at times. My pain was gone within a week of taking it and I could not have been happier because I could now function and do things like play with my child and clean house. Well yesterday I cleaned house all day and felt fine. My prescription needed a refill so I sent my daughter to pick it up for me. When I got the script I was no longer the blue pills, instead one 150mg pink pill. I took it and went to bed, no big deal. This morning I feel like a truck ran over me. I have not hurt like this in a while!! So my question is this....has anyone else experienced this with the differ...

I'm taking oxcydone 10mg hcl little pink pill with k 56 on it. For neck surgery and fused discs . Pain treatment. Seems to work ok but how long does it take for your body to get use to it. Then have to move up in strength. Taking 6 a day, pretty bad pain . Or what would they move me up to. ? Works ok but seems to start to wear off faster. Bringing the pain back quicker. ## There is really no way to give you an answer to how long it will take you to get used to it, because it varies from person to person. The dosage of any given medication may work for years for someone else, but only a few weeks or months for you, and vice-versa.
