I have experienced this twice since last year when I encountered 3 months of irregular menstruation. The doctor says that a kind of pills would bring back my regular menstruation but I don't know what kind? I am 36 yrs old . From the time I matured ( when i was 13 yrs old ) I have been having irregular periods and took various hormonal medication from my gynaec to regularise them. Till date after so many years I still have irregular periods. I am married for almost 10yrs and have not concieved. I get my periods once in 3 months and the flow is very heavy and lasts for more than a month . My gynaec has to prescribe hormones again for the flow to stop. Apart from physical exhaustion , I have to face lot of mental tension from my in-laws for my condition . The doctor says I have PCOD and prescribes me the hormones for either heavy bleeding or to induce menses when I dont get my periods for 3 months . How long can this continue . I have irregular periods and trying to conceive for past 1 yr. My doctor advised me to take regestrone for 5 days (3 tablets per day) . I have thyroid problem and taking medicine.. I have irregular periods due to pcod. I didn't have periods from April to July. Then my doctor prescribed me Regestrone. Once I took ten tablets, the periods came. Then from the 11th day of my periods the doctor asked me to take Meprate (one tab daily) for 15 days. Periods came correctly. Then from the 11th day my second course of Meprate started. Now almost two months later I don't have periods after taking Meprate also.. I am really fed up with this.. I'm obese too.. Doctor asked me to take three courses of Meprate.
