I Have Breathing Problems

I am taking oxycodone rho 30 mg for severe back and leg and foot pain. I've been reading about rho and do not like what I am seeing. The pain clinic I go to changed the manufacturer a few months ago and I want to go to a different manufacturer. Do you think the clinic will honor a request to change? They are causing me to have breathing problems. Advice please. Thanks ## Hello, Edward! How are you? The prescribing doctor cannot dictate which generic you receive from your pharmacy. The only thing they can do, if necessary, is write the prescription as 'brand medically necessary', or whatever the equivalent is in your state. Even if the clinic has an in-house pharmacy, like my primary care doctor does, the doctor still doesn't control which generic they fill your prescript...

Hi, I've been on candesartan for a few months and I'm experiencing difficulty in my breathing. I feel like I have a car on my chest. Is this normal? ## Hello, Phil! How are you? The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. That said, having been on it for several years myself, I can say that no, that is not normal. Have you consulted your doctor? Do you monitor your blood pressure regularly? Are you on any other medications? Do you minimize your salt intake?

I have always been active, hiking, biking, walking. I am a former smoker though. Quit almost 20 years ago. About a year ago I was diagnosed with having low Thyroid levels and was put on levothyroxine 50mg. A couple of months later after more tests it was concluded that I have Hashimotos. Time frame August 2014-Aug 2015. In Jan 15 I noticed some asthma upon exertion and after talking with my doctor he suggested I carry an inhaler when exercising. I used the inhaler twice and then nothing for a couple of months although I did notice some gradual shortening of breath and headaches. Breathing got worse in April after a severe bout with bronchitis. Went back to Dr and he decided to try me on Armour. Still having shortness of breath but still able to take walks. About a month ago I went to se...

I was taking Tramadol as prescribed for 5 years. Then one night I took the same amount then I felt like I almost couldn't breathe. Now I can't take it without feeling like I can't breathe...what is wrong? ## stop taking it no matter what your doc says ## Reactions to a medication can suddenly occur, even if you've taken it successfully before, some people's bodies just can no longer tolerate them. It is hard to say what is causing this reaction, it could be a developed allergy or a blood pressure elevation, among other things. Have you spoken to your doctor about this, if so, what have they said? ## I was taking tramadol on and off for about 6 years and this would occasionally happen. It started getting worse as time went on so I had to stop. I also experienced a sev...

I'm been on prescription OxyContin 40 mg 2x daily for pain for the past few years. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow because I feel that my breathing is not quite right, but I'm afraid of the repercussions! What is the procedure for this type of situation? Will the Dr stop the pills??? Will I need to detox?:( ## Hello, Vixen! How are you? What type of breathing issue are you having? This medication can cause depression of the central nervous system, so it may cause your breathing to be more shallow and slower than usual, as reported by the FDA. If it is causing it, you may just need to try a different medication. Is this the only medication you're on? ## What does breathing depression feel like? Can that goes on for weeks? When does it become dangerous? Will decreasing th...

So, I started taking subutex, now up to 16mg, and gabapentin 900mg x3 daily. I’ve been to the ER twice in one week. I have episodes feeling like I can't breath. Even though I am getting oxygen, my brain is telling me it’s not enough. I feel like I'm suffocating. I stopped taking gabapentin a week ago, even stopped subutex 16mg for 2 days. Still my breathing doesn't feel right. I just don't feel like myself. I’ve been back on subutex for 2 days. Has anybody felt this way on subutex? I have had an EKG twice, blood work, chest xray, cat scan of neck to check for blockage. I do have high blood pressure and I am wondering if the subutex is restricting my vessels causing decreased blood flow, not carrying enough oxygenated blood to my heart. Does anybody have...

I have been taking these two drugs together for monts-now i feel my breathing is not right. ## What you might be having a problem with is the fact that both of these medications can cause Central Nervous System Depression and when used together, in some people, they can aggravate each other and make this side effect much more pronounced and breathing can be one of the things affected. It can also cause a lowered heart rate and lowered blood pressure. Have you spoken to your doctor about this, yet? In most instances where this occurs, the person needs a dosage adjustment or has to stop taking one of the medications. ## are there any foods that can help or hurt while detoxing from vicodine?

Hey everyone my name is Emily I am 22 years old, I take 1 8mg of suboxone a day. I'm fine during the day most of the time besides my severe anxiety. I feel a though my anxiety has taken over my life. But I take my 1 8mg pill if suboxone in the morning and at night time I always have anxiety. I have trouble breathing at the same time every night. My breathing feels very slow but I can feel my heart beating fast. I'm not sure if this is just from my anxiety or the suboxne. I'm terrified that shallow breathing is a sign of overdose or something which also starts up my anxiety even more, and I also have asthma. Could this just be my anxiety causing these breathing problems or is it possible that my suboxone is the cause? ## Hey are you taking any kind of medication for anxiety? ...

After a year on 100 mcg (6 months) then 400 mcg, I have experienced 4 weeks of gradually increasing problems with breathing. Today I saw my Dr. and was thinking about something else and forgot to mention it. However, this afternoon 6 plus hours after taking a 400 mcg, my breathing is shallow and I am very fatigued even without exercising. ## Almost all narcotics can cause with Central Nervous Sytem Depressive effects, commony referred to as CNS effects in the monographs. Taking such a large jump from 100mcgs to 400mcgs means your body has not been able to adjust to this new dosage, as it would have if you had gone up slowly to the higher dosage. There are warnings about doing that with this drug just for this very reason. It should never be used by someone who is not used to taking narc...

they put it on me in the ambulance becouse i couldnt breath ## Recently I had a pacemarker installed and not I have trouble breathing ## Donna, is it possible they meant C-PAP? It's a type of machine that uses positive air pressure to help alleviate breathing problems, it helps prevent soft tissues from getting in the way and inhibiting proper air intake. Bill, have you consulted your doctor? It is very important that you do so, because breathing problems could signal an issue with your heart. Are there any other questions or comments?

I was prescribed Ciprofloxicin July 2016 after a dormant uti infection was eventually diagnosed in left teste following major back surgery..lower frontal entry.... After taking first tablet on a Friday tea time by the Saturday I didnt feel well, by the Sunday I could hardly breathe/draw breath. I couldn't get a doctors appointment until mid week. I had my asthma medication changed...I have had asthma 19 yrs following a long chest infection not felt with which developed into pneumonia but had no problems since first got inhalers. The change in inhalers I first thought were helping, I also have had three courses of steroids and a few antibiotics.... I am having hereditary chronic asthma. I am 40 and otherwise physically very fit. I attend gym and go on walks, keeping a very good lifestyle, am intelligent and enjoy good conversation, am a hotelier (director of two hotels, manage one of them), unmarried and not interested in marriage. I am on inhalers which have side effects on throat. I would like to know if my malady can be cured or at least alleviated up to 80 percent? ## Attu, I do not know to what extent your asthma can be alleviated. I can only tell you about two things I know of from experience in regards to my Mom who has COPD/Emphysema. She is nearly 68 and is an ex-smoker, but quit smoking way back in 1982. She started showing problems with her breathing, as in being short-winded and coughing, somewhere around 5 years ago. ...

Im taking tonic water with quinine for cramping in my feet and legs and it helps but I have to empty my bladder all the time and it hard to hold. ## Hi maggie, In my honest opinion the side effect list for Quinine is pretty nerve racking. And although I didn't see a mention of any bladder-related concerns, I do have reason to suspect that one or more other side effects of this drug may be indirectly causing it: nausea restlessness difficulty hearing or ringing in the ears confusion nervousness rash hives itching flushing hoarseness difficulty breathing or swallowing swelling of the face, throat, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles or lower legs fever blisters stomach pain vomiting diarrhea blurriness or changes in color vision inability to hear or see faintness easy bruising purple, bro...

My mother (86yrs) started on exelon 4.6 4 weeks ago. She suffers from bronchiectasis on one lung and I feel like her breathing has worsened since using the patches. Initially - as its coughs and colds season- the GP put her on anti biotics and high steroid dosage (6 per day) but 10 days later she has worsened. As of today 6th Jan, she is on the 9.5 patches. I have read it can cause breathing problems. Any other experiences or advice please on this, as the GP doesnt think it is Exelon related. Thanks in advance ## Thank you. Sadly, she has now passed away. But I am grateful to forums like this. Its a place to turn when nobody else seems to be listening

Hi, I am a 34 year old male. For the last 2-3 years I had palpitations and 1-2 episodes of Spvt (or short Atrial fibrillation lasting 10-30 seconds) per Month. (My cardiologist said that based on my symptoms). I have done Ecg, Echo, holter and a stress test. All results were fine. But, I was scared a lot by those episodes and over time, a doctor suggested me to take a low dose of some Beta blockers. I have happily accepted that... Before this, I was able to walk 1 hour every day (without any problems) and live a regular life (except playing sports since it could trigger the spvt sometimes). In January 2015, I started to take the lowest those of Nebivolol. Everything was fine for the first few weeks, but then I started to experience breathing problems, while walking, sitting, watching tv...

Norco 10/325 quit working for me. I was given Morphine 100mg, TOO MUCH FOR ME, Now I have been taking Oxycodone 20mg IR and I am have shortness of breath and chest pain ? I can hardly breathe . I see my lung Doctor today, where do I go from here for pain medication, I am suspecting that the Oxycodone is my breathing problem and I must give it up. Help ## What did the doctor say? Oxycodone can cause suppression of the central nervous system as a side effect, which can cause breathing issues, sometimes chest pain, severe drowsiness, and somnolence. What issues did the Morphine cause? If that dose was too high, there are lower ones available that you can try. Alternatively, you might also do better with a time released formulation of Oxycodone, rather than one that releases all the medicat...

I was given Nitrofur Macr 100 Mg to take twice daily for a bladder infection. How long does this cough usually last? Also, would not recommend this to anyone. there must be better medications out there. Thanks ## I have also had the same problems with this medication. Problems breathing and a hacking cough. It also made me so drowsy that I am scared to drive my car.
