Will hospital help when you lose a pain medication doctor. I'm in severe pain and extremely sick, it will take at least 6 weeks to get into pain management. I don't know what to do or where to go. Need help fast!!! Rhode Island ## Hello, Norma! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. A hospital will usually only help if you are in severe withdrawal that may put you in danger and, even then, they will only treat you until you are stable. They will not prescribe medications for chronic pain, in most cases, due to the new directives issues by the DEA last year. How did you lose your doctor? ## My 17 yr old granddaughter passed away, I was shaking and lost one. Right before that happened I gave up my home because my husband and I have too much family living with us,...

I whent to the hospital last night and they gave me a L 371 pill I don't no much about pills ## The pill was white, oblong L371 Imprinted on it ## Hi Jessica, Generally this type of imprint denotes an over the counter drug, with the letter L followed by three random digits. However I haven't been able to locate any matches on my end. The closest relevant pill imprint has a marking of L374 and this is also a white oblong pill - Containing a combination of Acetaminophen 250mg + Aspirin 250mg + Caffeine 65mg. If it's of any help, the manufacturer who makes these "L xxx" pills is Perrigo Company. You could try contacting them directly for more specific details as to what your pill might be. Does anyone else here recognize this?

I had a very bad fall on Thurs. The emergency gave me1 shot of morphine .I cannot sleep.Having wierd thoughts at night, cannot sleep. Is this still due to the meds. ## No, any side effects from a shot given that many days ago wouldn't be lingering this long. However, it could very well be a slight form of post traumatic stress. It can happen, even with small events like this and most people never recognize it for what it is, because it doesn't last longer than a week or two. It really only gets noticed when it severely affects someone's quality of life and ability to function, which is usually when it's very severe and lasts for years. You may want to give it a little more time and see if it eases off and if it doesn't, then you should seek medical. attention. Anothe...

What are signs of an allergic reaction to compazine and being overdosed? ## I was in the hospital about a year ago.. and I was given compazine. I will NEVER allow a doctor to give that s*** to me again. When asked now if Im allergic to anything, I ALWAYS say Compazine. After getting a dose of it, I didnt know what to do with myself. I wanted to sit up, and I wanted to lay down. I wanted to move, I felt like I was sliding off the bed. Taking that med, made me feel like I was crawling out of my own skin. I feel so bad for you if you had a reacton to it. I got sooo bad with the whole thing that they tried givin me benadrill (sorry for spelling) to help take the side effects away, but it didnt help. If there is anything else I can help you with, or if you have anymore question. Please feel ...

I was given a lortab 10, basically kicked out of the hospital, and told to wait for my ride in the rain. My question is whether there is a law governing the time after given a narcotic that the hospital has to monitor me for any bad reactions? ## The emergency room is supposed to keep an eye on you for at least an hour (give or take) before discharging you.. however with oral medications versus I.V. medications it could be different. Have you ever been prescribed Norco before? ## There is really no set time frame for this, they can dismiss any patient, at any given time, as long as that person is stable at the time, and not in immediate life threatening danger. While most will monitor someone for awhile, they are not obligated to do so, and they may have various reasons for moving someo...

Does anyone know if they are generous on the amount of meds they write ## Hello, Jerry! How are you? No doctor can be 'generous', so to speak. The DEA has set forth new regulations on what they can prescribe, why they can prescribe it and how much they can prescribe. Prescribing practices are heavily scrutinized and improper prescribing risks their losing their license to practice medicine, as well as fines and jail time. The only thing you can really do is set up an appointment, make sure they receive a full copy of your current medical records, then discuss your treatment options, at the appointment, without asking for any specific medications upfront. There are no guarantees that any doctor will prescribe anything. Is anyone familiar with this hospital?

Hey there, I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this but I'm in need of some advice. I started using humira about 6 months ago. I'm 23. I want to go back to school to become a surgery technician. However since I am on humira I was wondering if anyone thought there is a cause of concern working in an hospital environment while on humira (increased risk of infection). I haven't noticed being sick more often since going on humira. ## Hello, Kyle! How are you? I supposed there would be some slightly increased risk, but I doubt it should be enough to prevent you from working. However, you should check with your doctor to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been on Humira for a year. I'm 26, and in nursing school. This drug should not hold ...

I want to know the symptoms of an allergy to Lycra. Three days after my appendectomy I broke out in a severe itching rash on legs and arms. The areas were swollen, red and severely itching constantly. I am getting better, thanks to allergy medication in large doses.

No fungus or bacteria growing out. Has anyone had any sort if experience like this ? Found a bunch of pink oblong pills with PLIVA 530 on one side and a slit down the middle on the other. ## This is Choline Magnesium Trisalicylate 1000mgs, a generic for Trilisate. This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, used to relieve pain and swelling. It can be dangerous to be using this high of a dosage without doctor's approval or without the doctor knowing you are using it. I could affect the thinning of your blood as well as what other meds they can safely prescribe.

I have chronic migraines & fibromyalgia and I have been in so much pain for the last 12 months that I'm in the ER, then sometimes my Dr. will admit me for pain mgmt for a few days, but I just left the hospital in Illinois that I always go to and now they are refusing to give me any narcotics anymore! Now does that mean that even if my Dr. admits me through his office to the hospital I won't be able to get something like dilaudid? Or would I be able to go to another hospital for the dilaudid? My Dr. Is ok with putting me in for a day or so cuz he knows how much pain I'm in!! This is unfair! What do I do? Help please!! ## Hello, Laura! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you've had. I am a 51 yr. old female and I have been diagnosed with Metabolic myopathy and I have also had back surgery. I live with constant muscle and back pain. What I find hard to believe is that some people seem to get meds so easily and the people that need them the most can't. I live in a moderately sized town in MI and our local hospital is like the medical mafia. It is beyond ridiculous, they have every doctor in this town under their thumb and terrified to write a script for pain meds, even though I have my medical and pharmacy records. I am so pissed. I have been unable to work for almost 2 years have been through my life savings and I am now dead broke. My Doctor retired, no one took over his practice and to make matters worse for the last month I have been so sick I am barely able ...

I was released from the hospital (due to DVT) after 2 days. I am now home for the past 3 days and I still have swelling from foot to knee. Do you think if I iced it for swelling would that help? It is very uncomfortable to walk around the house. ## After my last post I had a follow up with my pri. doctor who advised me to wear a compression stocking and continue with 2.5 Eliquis twice a day and take a Tylenol once a day. The swelling will take a while since I am 87 years old. My blood test reads normal. ## Hi Dusty, I'm glad your labs were normal and followed up with your pcp. These things take some time to achieve complete relief. Compression garments and elevation will assist you greatly. I know how uncomfortable it is to get around with swelling like that. Best wishes.

I was given 3 x 10 mg doses of methadone in the hospital. The last 10 mg dose was yesterday at 6 pm when I realized the mistake and had them stop it. I am now home and need to take my zubsolv but am scared to. They know nothing about mixing the two at hospital and were no help. How long before I can take my zubsolv? I take a half a pill per day please answer ASAP. I am very sick. ## You usually have to be in full withdrawal, before you can take Zubsolv, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Taking it too soon could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## I am very sick ...

I took Amoxicillin 875 mg twice a day for 7 days. I had to get emergency treatment for hypersensitivity, but I think it would have been worse if I had waited. I was at least three times treated in an emergency room for anaphylaxis shock for an egg allergy. I am diagnosed with symptomatic asthma, especially during an allergy attack. This is my third day after the emergency. I take three Prednisone at once daily. Prescription is for five days. The next day after the ER visit, I felt good in the morning, but did not take my Prednisone. I relapsed badly. Today, 3rd day, I added 50 mg of Benadryl on my own, not prescribed by the ER physician. My breathing seems to be OK, but not normal. Blood pressure is normal, but is a rollercoaster, especially when I take Prednisone. My face and chest are...

hi :) thank you for this service you are providing! I am having a colonoscopy procedure in **3 days from today**. I have been told I will be sedated (asleep) during this procedure. I got put in hospital for 2 days now having bad chest pain and they have given me 4 mil moraphine and switching to 10 mil oxycondone every 4-6 hours.
