Hi my name Sonia I have been taking g ibilex for a few days on it 4 times a day I have been feeling tried over a few days and have a lot of gas from my stomach I'm on it for a burn on my arm ## Hello, Sonia! How are you? The FDA lists this medication as containing the antibiotic Cephalexin, so those can be normal side effects of it. Is there anything else I can help with?

My husband is sensitive to medications. When we find one he can tolerate, it has to always be by that manufacturer, otherwise he has abdominal pain, bloating, gas, etc. when he starts a new medication, sometimes have to try several manufacturers before we can find one he tolerates. Manufacturers are changing all the time. Most likely he has a sensitivity or allergy to a filler. Is there any way to find a way or is there a way to find out what causes these problems? I live in fear every 3 months when I have to refill any of his 7 meds. I need help. Any suggestions? ## Has your husband ever been tested for allergies, and sensitivities? Have you tried checking the inactive ingredients of his medications to see if you can pinpoint what might be causing the problem when he tries a new one? R...

I have gastritis but no h pylori. Is it okay to use Pylori kit even if you do not have H Pylori? ## It is really not recommended, because the H. Pylori kits contains antibiotics to help get rid of the H. Pylori bacteria, so if you use them, without having an active infection, then you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria and this could put you at serious risk in the future. It is usually best to treat gastritis with medications that specifically help to reduce the amount of acid in the stomach and allow it to heal. The most commonly used are proton pump inhibitors, you can learn more about them here: They work by shutting down some of the acid pumps in the stomach, so you produce less acid. Personally, I didn't have good luck with these and my doctor had to take ...

I see a pain management Dr for chronic pain. I've had a very difficult time in finding the RIGHT medication for this. I recently had my 2nd disc repair surgery on my neck and I've made sure to follow all protocols with prescriptions between my pain management Dr and my surgeon. My biggest issue right now is that I've been taking Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 7.5/325 in liquid form. Today my husband took me in for a follow up appointment and we found out that this medication is no longer available in the liquid form. I take the liquid form because of a poor absorption issue with my stomach after having a bad gastric bypass surgery (while I lost a great amount of weight my stomach is totally screwed up now). I'm allergic to morphine & dilaudid. We've tried patches too ...

I have been on 50 mcg of levothyroxine for 5 months and I have gained 15 pounds. My doctor tells me that it should be the opposite and that I should loose weight. Is this possible? Have any of you taking this drug has experienced the same? ## I was on 50mg for about 2 weeks and noticed I had gained 10 pounds. So I stopped taking it and gained another 15lbs. now my test showed me to be 5.9 and my new doctor put me on 15mg. She said this will help me loose weight that the 50mg wasn't strong enough to help me not gain the weight. ## I have gained 15 pounds on synthroid. My husband and I recently moved to South Carolina & have been desperately trying to locate a good pain specialist/doctor near Columbia, SC. I suffer chronic pain from being stabbed in the stomach from a domestic violence attack many years ago. My spleen, gall bladder, and appendix all had to be removed. My small intestines were completely severed, so a good bit of my intestines had to be removed while a temporary colostomy bag was attached to my stomach. I had to wear the bag for 3 months while the intestines healed and then could thankfully be reattached. My vegus nerve was also severed by the knife, so I now have Gastroparesis, a condition where I can only digest around 30% of the food I eat...the rest comes up in extremely violent puking episodes. I was a mess. Many doctors have sai

In UK, can a person still be eligible for gastric band surgery while taking abilify and sertraline? Would a good surgeon still perform gastric band surgery on such a patient? Patient is mentally stable for a number of years after being on this medication. Would doses have to be adjusted? Also would patient have to transfer from taking tablets to injections? ## I think there are going to be quite a few different factors that come into play here and have an affect on the decision. Such as, is the person of sound enough mind to make such a decision? Then, there are also going to be questions of whether or not such medications can be continued, or need to be stopped for a period of time. A lot of that is going to depend on their overall health and how their mental state is if they don't...

I am so frustrated with drug companies adding sugar alcohols like sorbitol and mannitol in medicines. I have been taking Prilosec for gastritis for about 10 months. My doctor asked that the pharmacist give me an rx (for gastritis) that does not contain sorbitol. I have been taking the Prilosec for over 1 month and I am still having my symptoms. I just check the ingredients and it contains mannitol which is just like sorbitol. WHY is this allowed in medicine. There are a huge number of people (especially those with irritable bowel syndrome) who are becoming sicker because sorbitol and mannitol causes gastritis issues with them and others like me who get extremely sick (and dehydrated) with just a little bit of this! It is extremely dangerous for young children and the elderly. How can I ...

I am in dire straits. I suffer extreme pain from endometriosis (pelvic pain) and from extensive joint disease. I have problems with tolerating oral medications due to gastric issues. Is there something strong for pain that is delivered transdermally? If not, perhaps suggest meds that don't produce gastric problems. I'm eager to receive legitimate information, please. ## One strong pain medication which is delivered transdermally (via patch) is Fentanyl.
