I was given this instead of Esomeprazole Dr 40mg cap... My new med looks different than what I got last month... It's a white capsule with I and 82. Is it the same med? ## Yes, it is just another generic for it. It is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma and they do list it as containing 40mgs of Omeprazole. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and stomach pain. I want to know whether sompraz 40 and nexpro 40 are same medicine with different nomenclature. One of my family member was advised to take sompraz 40 along with other medicines. Is Pantoprazole sod dr 40 mg the same drug as Nexium 40 mg? My husband was given Nexium samples by the doctor but was prescribed the Pantoprazole. Thank you ## Hi Barb, From what I could gather, they appear to be completely different drugs that are used for similar purposes. My guess is that the doctor wanted him to sample the Nexium to see if he responded better to one or the other. Nexium contains the active ingredient Esomeprazole & Pantoprazole happens to be the active ingredient in and of itself; but both are classified as proton pump inhibitors. I hope this info helps to shed some light on the subject!

My sgpt level was 29 in 2018, 43 in 2019 and 66 in 2021, all other parameters of lft like sgot, ggt are stable. why is this shift in sgpt/alt level. i am feeeling fatigue, weight loss and indigestion, stomach growling and diarrheal symptoms after eating. i have done endoscopy and colonoscopy and reports are fine. After having back and chest pain symptoms my cardiologist recommend that I take Nexpro RD 40 mg and once I started on Nexpro I got relief.
