I have Lupus, joint pain, chronic back pain I've just moved to the area and have been being treated prior by a pain management specialist who has me on 15 MG Oxycontin time release and 7.5 MG Percot for break through pain. I need to continue my meds for pain , however with all I've been reading about this area and Texas, (of which I love ), it seems no doctors are prescribing? I need help to find a great pain doctor like I had in my previous state. Can anyone help? No I'm not a drug seeker, just a Lupus patient in pain....I do not misuse any medication or do any illegal types of drugs. Thank You in andvance. ## There were a lot of pill mills in Houston that were shut down, yes. And while I don't know a specific doctor to recommend you, I've become familiar with the c...

What is the limit of narcotic 10 that drs can legally write in Tx. ## What is narcotic 10 ? Do you mean Norco 10 ? ## If you mean Norco 10. FDA recommeded dosage can be 1 every 4 hrs, that would be 6 a day and 180 a month. Texas doesn't have any other restriction on hydrocodone combination medications. If you have insurance, your insurance company may have restrictions. Drs do not have to use the max dosage for any med when prescribing. ## Did you ever find the answer? I'm looking for a 'doc' that will stop cutting me back after a couple months on.

Someone please help!!! ## Have you searched suboxone doctors in austin tx? Some sites have a place to enter your zipcode. ## Yes and bc I haven't been a resident here for 30 days I can't get help I'm about 2 go 2 the streets ## Have you considered looking into a Methadone clinic, in the meantime, then switching later? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Theres also something called " the 3 day r...

I need help finding a subutex Doc in Texas!! I'm from Florida & moved here couple years ago & desperately want off Suboxine. Been on it almost 5 years & I can't stand it. I have multiple side effects I've felt with for years. I went 30 days cold turkey & couldn't take it anymore & had to go back to Doc to continue the medication. I have so many friends that recovered from Suboxine using Subutex!! It's Definitely not the same, & way easier to get off as far as the detox. My buddy did it in 3 weeks. I've gotten off Methadone & that was hell but couldn't handle the suboxine withdrawal. Years ago my Doc prescribed me with all these trap drugs & are the cause of all this & the years taken away from me. I would of never got on th...

Need my vicodin in Galveston Texas now dr says can't prescribe any more please help ## Need pain medication in Galveston Texas ## Hello, Sundowner! How are you? Since Vicodin was changed to a schedule 2 drug at the begging of October and the DEA issues revised regulations for the prescribing of such drugs last year, you'll need to see a specialist, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis. A general practice physician won't be able to prescribe it for you. According to the FDA, this is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there a chance that your current doctor could refer you to someone? That might be the quickest and easiest wa...

I use to love marijuana but one day it quit working for me. It got to when I smoked it I would have panic attacks. So my marijuana days were over. My wife suffers from diabetes and cirrhosis of the liver, and hep c. She also is going to have surgery because she has stenosis; her spinal canal is blocked. What i need to ask you is: We live in Texas and i would like to get her medical marijuana because the doctor gives her Norco's and at night she is in tears because she hurts so bad. What i dont get is here she has cirrhosis of the liver and her dr. gives her an opiate that has acetaminophen in it. I thought everybody knew that acetaminophen was bad for your liver? But she is afraid to say anything about it because she's afraid of being cut off. What i need to know is how do I go ...

I'm new to the area and need to find a new family Dr who is willing to take care of my chronic pain. Will be satisfied with lortab or norco. Can anyone help me find a good Dr? ## I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you may run into some difficulties in this endeavor. There are 2 reasons why I'm saying this…. The first is due to the fact that there is a movement underway by the FDA and DEA to try to transition chronic pain sufferers into pain management and away from having their pain treated by general practitioners or surgeons, who haven't been specially trained to treat such pain issues. And going right along with that, due to the risks associated with the use of medications like you mentioned that combine Acetaminophen with Hydrocodone, they are als...

New to Tyler Texas. I take hydrocodine and zanez. I have been talking them for about eight years. I need a doctor now in Tyler. ## Hello, Maryweather! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a specialist, if you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis. Do you have a new PCP, yet? If so, then having them refer you to someone would be the easiest way to find the help you need. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area? ## I'm not sure how far Tyler is from Spring, but Dr. Ghanem was my physician and he was very good. His office is labeled "Obstetrics Gynecology and Family Practice" He doesn't seem to have that same hesitation other physicians have when it comes to dealing with pain. He's very th...

PHARMACY ALWAYS OUT' OR SHORT', but whrn they have some its less and i have to take what they have and suffer rest of the time, checked all over same problem every where i go, HELP' on disability and cant afford the name brand ## I find it very alarming that a lot of the pharmacies love to price gouge ....I went from paying about $125 to over $1,000 for my prescription in a matter of two yrs. every month the pharmacies would go up $0.50 to a dollar! This month it went from $8 to $10 each pill ...this should be illegal! It's as if they are legal drug dealers. Who is the best pain management doctor in the Beaumont area? We just moved from Austin, and after calling around, can't find a good one. For starters, they all tell you right off the bat they don't prescribe Oxycodone. What? Why reject a drug before you even know a patient's history or what kind of results they've had with it. Why does every pain doc in Beaumont have this asinine attitude, and what alternatives do they offer? (I am already on Fentanyl patches, with a spinal stimulator, and that does not control the pain). I'd prefer someone who takes Blue Cross Blue Shield. ## The reason you're getting that attitude is because when someone calls asking for a specific medication, doctors have been taught to view that as drug seeking behavior and they'll tell y...

I'm very upset about jerk doctors who are afraid to prescribe narcotics like Percocet 10mg. Other meds do not work yet some will offer morphine patches. Need help finding a doc to do so in humble, Texas. Please help before I am forced to look on the streets... anyone? ## Hello, Daniel! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you've had. However, doctors have no choice in the matter, they have to be cautious about prescribing such medications, if not, they risk losing their license to practice medicine, as well as fines and jail time. The patches are less frequently abused, so they are sometimes a safer alternative. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth...

My Dr has moved. I am now without a Dr for my patches...I only have 4 left. Two Drs I went to do not prescribe. Please help. Thank you... ## Hello, Jeri! How are you? If you require such a strong narcotic for pain management, you'll need to see a pain management specialist and if you're going to doctors and just asking if they'll prescribe it, they'll usually see that as being drug seeking behavior and just tell you no. You need to see a new doctor and basically let your medical records speak for you. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I went to a pain Dr. She was the worst Dr I have ever...

My doctor that prescribed me Norco & Xanax RETIRED. I am looking for a compassionate doctor in the N Dallas, TX area that will prescribe these. Don't want to have to go to a pain clinic. ## Hello, Suzi! How are you? Unfortunately, due to the new restrictions set forth by the DEA last year, you'll likely need to see specialists now for both of these medications, it'll be very difficult to find a new PCP that will prescribe them for you. That likely also means one doctor for the Xanax and another for the Norco. According to the FDA, both of these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects that may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation. Can anyone please help me!!! I need to find a private doctor in tyler or dallas texas that prescribes methadone. I cant make it to the clinic everyday and I need help with my opiate addiction. I found suboxone doctors but they are too expensive. Please help ## Hello, Sherri! How are you? I'm sorry, but for addiction treatment, a clinic is your only option. It would be illegal for a private doctor to prescribe it for you. It is only allowed to be given in a clinical setting by those that are specially trained in its use. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I wish I had better news for you, but I'm afraid this is the way it stands ...
