Ok. I am at my end and trying to find someone who knows a dr that will take a new patient. I have herniated discs in my neck that pinch a nerve and create horrible pain and burning in my hands. I have 2 small children and work in a career that requires me to use my hands and back 90% of the time. I've had to stop working because of this and I'm at my wits end with all of this. I'm currently seeing our family dr who has been prescribing me 10/325 percocets. She referred me to a pain dr and he wouldn't take me as a new patient. I am so frustrated. I know there has been a really big issue with narcotics and pill mills and all of that. I would just like to know if anyone knows a dr that is willing to write narcotic prescriptions. I have been to physical therapy and I don...

I have been seeing a Doctor for pain management and now I am in Naples Fl. and want to find a Dr, who will keep me on the same prescriptions I have been on for last 4 years! Which is Roxicodone 30mg. and Methadone 10mg. any 1 please if you can help please do! ## Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. Then, the best ap...

My doctor no longer prescribes narcotics. I have 4 bulged discs, a degenerative disc and sciatica. I have been on Dilaudid 8 mg 3 times a day for months. I went to a pain specialist who will only prescribe 4 mg and only one per day. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't afraid to write the scripts needed for chronic pain? I live in the Orlando area but am willing to drive to get the medication I need. I'm desperate! ## Marilyn, I'm sure this has little to do with you but the DEA in conjunction with state regulatory agencies have been notified that further prescribing of this potent narcotic opiate/opioid will result in their displeasure. Dilaudid, also referred to as hospital heroin for the intense euphoric pleasure it produces when administered intravenously, causes many to a...

I suffer with extremely painful MS and have not been on regular opiods since September of 2012.My neurologist had me on up to seven oxycodone 15mg a day along with the fentanyl 50 patches. He left the area and I have been to multiple doctors and I just get passed around now. All I am on now is tramadol.... And that is no comparison.I can't find another neurologist that will write scripts or any other Dr for that matter. Please I beg for some help!!!!!!! ## Hello, Pebbles! How are you? If you're asking them to prescribe narcotics, most doctors are going to refuse, because they are taught to view that as being drug seeking behavior. Have you tried a pain management specialist? Having your PCP refer you to one might be the easiest and quickest way to get the help you need, but be s...

THE ONLY THING THAT HELPS MY SPINAL STENOSIS & HERNIATED DISCS &DEGENERATIVE DISC DISEASE IS VALIUM+DILAUDID 4-8MG. CAme here from florida got pain killers for my leg need to find a doctor here who isnt paranoid of a dea shutdown ## Hi, Matt! How are you? Unfortunately, they all have to be paranoid about that. New regulations were put into effect this year and any doctor that doesn't abide by them risks losing his license to practice medicine. Your best bet would be to establish a relationship in your new location, with a PCP, then have them refer you to a pain management specialist. Do you have a PCP, yet? ## Matt, did you ever find one? I am in Beaumont, and I too need to find a doc not afraid of narcotics. Moved here from Austin, and have a hard time finding a good doctor of nearly any kind.

why have doctors in memphis tn stopped prescribing pain meds? ## Based on what's been going on lately in the pharmaceutical world, my guess is that most of the rudimentary doctors have become reluctant to "over-prescribe" narcotics, because they fear that they will loose their licenses upon doing so. The same thing appears to be happening in parts of Florida. Does anyone have some extra insight on this? ## You are spot on, this is true in all 50 states, and, intensified with the so-called, "OxyContin Express" Unfortunately, out of state patients, driving from West Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky especially, to Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties in South Fla, about 3 years ago, before, Florida passed legislation, to join the Prescription Monitoring Program. a friend takes Klonopin - I think abuses it. Twice he has not taken it for a day and he loses his ability to talk. Slurred speech - as soon as he takes it again - he is fine. How can he get off this drug? He also abuses oxycodone - I am trying to help, but I am way over my head. I need help, he needs help. We don't have monet for private treatment, he refuses to admit himself. Does anyone out there have some suggestions? I am in Florida. ## Get into a drug program. Talk to a doctor about the implications to his system if you stop useing. (It can be fatal if not done with care) Join NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS. If you care about stopping the abuse of drugs- you must STOP all mild altering substances to get a lifestyle that is not dependent on anything. Your friend can physically not be depen...

Hi all! I had Florida blue health insurance and they inadvertently dropped me yesterday. I turned 26 in June but my mom was able to add me to her employer plan in July. They gave me no notice in December and as I mentioned spontaneously cut me off. My first question is: If I decide against buying health insurance, can I still pay out of pocket to see my pain management doctor? From what I'm seeing on the website I think I can; and can I pay my prescriptions (narcotics included) in cash at any pharmacy of my choice without discrimination for not having insurance? Also, my second question is like I said I have been seeing my pain doctor and this whole thing couldn't have happened at a worse time as two weeks before Christmas I slipped and fell down the stairs. My doctor increased ...

im a florida resident and my current pharmacy is out of three narcotics that i take can i fill my scripts in new jersey new jersey is my home state so i am there quite often ## Hello, Dernise! How are you? If the prescriptions have been written by a doctor in Florida and you live there, then it is highly doubtful that a pharmacy in another state will fill them, because that means they are difficult for them to verify and it makes it much easier for someone to doctor and pharmacy hop. Have you tried checking with other pharmacies in your area to see if they have them? ## If the pharmacy is out, simply ask them to order it. Normally a pharmacy can have it in a couple days. ## I have a script from Yonkers ny n I can't find nowhere to fill my script which is oxycodone 30mlg quantity 140...

I am vacationing in Florida all week, and my Rx for 30 mg oxycodone tablets has come up missing. I have already contacted my doctor and he informed me there is nothing he can do about it. I really do not want pain to ruin my vaca, or go through withdrawal symptoms. ANY SOLUTIONS?? ## Where are you vacationing from? Another state? ## Yes, Ohio. Went to Sea World with the kids today and was close to miserable. Tried not to show it. ## That's a tough one. If you were lucky enough to find a caring clinic that would prescribe narcotics to an out-of-state resident, I would imagine it is going to be very expensive. Good luck to you.

Can u fill a subutex script from one doctor and then fill an oxycodone script from another doctor? They are different medications and different schedules the subutex is schedule III. and the oxy is schedule II. I am receiving a subutex script from my doctor once a month and then my other doctor gives me oxycodone when I have surgery . I have filled for 20 oxy's before while on subutex without problems, but if my doctor writes me for 60 oxy will that b a problem? ## Any help here? Oh I live in Florida by the way ## You may run into problems, since they are both narcotics and getting them from multiple doctors is generally considered doctor shopping. Are both doctors aware of both prescriptions? ## Not really I guess, I mean that I goto my subutex doc every month, but I am having mult...
