I started taking Chantix two and a half weeks ago. The first three days I had no issues, however when I started taking it twice a day I became very nauseous. I think I have over come that by making sure that I eat something with it (never ate prior to coming to work in the morning and a granola bar seems to help). My biggest concern that is in the past 14 days I have gained ten pounds. I feel like this is bloating and water weight however very concerning to me. I run at least every other day and I have not changed my eating habits. Last night when I came home from my run my left ankle was triple the size. No pain no injury. This morning it was back to normal but now swelling again. I called the doctor and they said my other option is Wellbutrin. I am afraid to make the change and not su...

Recently I've been experiencing water retention in my right leg. Is this from taking methadone? I've had several tests done. They say it's lymphademia but no blood clots were found. Everything seems to be okay yet I'm retaining water in my right leg. It doesn't make any sense. Can you please tell me if this could be from the methadone or additives from my thyroid medicine or any other medicines that you know of that would cause this? ## NIH.gov lists "swelling in your face or hands" as an allergic reaction to methadone and levothyroxine, but they don't mention any specific details about swelling in the legs. What's the name of the thyroid medication you take? I investigated levothyroxine in particular simply because I think it's one of the most po...

I'm type II diabetic and I have been waiting over 10 months to try this product out to lower my morning blood sugar count so I wouldn't have to start shooting insulin. It dropped my morning reading which has been steady at 165 to 115! I take metformin and glipizide but had to quit actos because of a similar problem as I have encountered with the Belviq. My legs retain and swell up with water. I also developed water blisters varying from 1/4" to the size of a quarter. Became uncomfortable and also itched. I quit taking Belviq and the symptoms went away. After a week of being OK I started taking Belviq again and had the same problems. It took about 2 weeks before I started to lose my appetite in the evening. I may try one more time just to make sure it's the Belviq causing...

Every night I go to bed I wake at least 4 times for a pee as I'm in incredible pain & when my pee sits anywhere in my body it's agonising. It is actually feels worse than withdrawal as nobody ...

cream for skin. What is it? ## Betaderm contains the active ingredient Betamethasone. Betamethasone is a moderately potent glucocorticoid steroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. Unlike other drugs with these effects, betamethasone does not cause water retention. It is applied as a topical cream, ointment, foam, lotion or gel to treat itching (e.g. from eczema). For more details you can see: Actually, I was under the impression that the brand Betaderm was discontinued (according to the FDA site) [1], but if you were able to get a prescription for it then I guess not. what is the side effect of asomex d ## Asomex-D contains the active ingredients Amlodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide, it is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dehydration. Learn more: Are there any other comments or questions? ## Whether it causes swelling in the legs due to water retation ## sainath, the Hydrochlorothiazide that is in the Asomex-D is a diuretic that is used to remove fluid from the body to treat or prevent that water retention, so this medication definitely shouldn't cause that, it should help prevent it or reduce it, if you are already suffering from it. Of course, this means that you do have to watch for possible symptoms of dehydration, such as: nausea, weakness...

I used to urinate frequently in the night. With this complaint I went to a urologist. That time retention of urine in the bladder (Ultrasound scanning) was found to be around 40cc. Then I was prescribed Dynosper(Tamsulosin 0.4mg). Used it for about 4 months. I did not have any problem. Meanwhile I found that if I stop taking water around 2 hrs before going to bed, the problem of frequent urination stopped. Then I discontinued the tablet. I did not feel it as a problem. Two months ago, approached urologist with the complaint of frequent urination in the day time. Not able to empty the bladder at a stretch etc.. Then my urine flow was analyzed. It was 4cc at maximum followed by a graph related to dripping of urine. Then I am prescribed Flotral-D (Alfuzocin10mg +dusteride 0.4 mg). I am usi...

My Dr is reducing my diltiazem from 120 twice a day to once a day, and says he is concerned about this water retention. I am on Jed's for the water retention and I am concerned that my heart rate will go bonkers. ## I am concerned that by reducing my daily dose of diltiazem (120)twice a day to just one dose of 120 will cause my heart to go back into Afib.the doctor is concerned with the edema in my legs,he has me on a diuretic.,and has me on just once a day with the 120 dose of diltiazem.( just started). I'm taking 300 mg of gabapentin three times a day and noticed a rapid weight gain. I think it's mostly water retention and I was wondering if taking one Lasix a day would help me loose the weigh and keep it off and not cause any other catastrophe. ## Hello, Margareta! How are you? With the possible risks associated with such rapid fluid retention, it would be best to have it checked out, rather than trying to treat it yourself. It does have the potential to lead to congestive heart failure. How long have you been taking the Gabapentin? It can also just cause regular weight gain and not just fluid gain. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness and mood swings. ## The drug made me pile on the weight and my tummy hammed it on. I was frighted to eat. I would try and come off...

Reason being is that ibuprofen can elevate blood pressure and contribute to water retention. I'm not sure if you meant to say "tinnitus" instead of "titnus", but an article from the University of California Irvine, states that: "Many different medicines can cause tinnitus.
