Had miniscal knee Surgery June 11. Does a muscle relaxer help reduce swelling? It is swelled from knee to ankle. ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? I got an abscess as a result of a piece of a tooth breaking, and it was close to the root. When I initially went to the dentist, the abscess wasn't too big at all, the doctor gave me 500mg amoxicillin to take 3 times a day, and scheduled me for a root canal in two weeks. I was taking the amoxicillin for 3 days and didn't notice any changes, and the abscess & swelling got bigger and hard and hot to touch. I went back to the dentist to let them know the amoxicillin wasn't doing anything for me, to see if they can prescribe me another stronger antibiotic. They did not prescribe me another antibiotic, but instead told me I need to finish the amoxicillin in order to see any changes, and just prescribed me 800mg ibuprofen to take along with the amoxicillin. Hi. I got a hemorrhoid for the second time and it was worse than the first time. This time around I did a lot of research. Unfortunately here in Kenya in my village I couldn't get most of the things mentioned in the forum. I however had aloe vera, locally known as mugwa nugu. I cut a piece of it. I soaked my butt area in a bucket full of warm water and salt solution for 20 minutes 3 times a day and applied the fresh aloe vera on the hemorrhoid after every bath. In two days, it popped and now I'm OK. Last time it lasted 16 days with antibiotics but this time it lasted 2 days with aloe vera.

My mother has had radiotherapy, and now there is swelling in her face near the cheeks . Her doctor has prescribed Emanzen D. Will this treat the swelling? ## Emanzen-D contains Diclofenac and Serratiopeptidase, they are both types of anti-inflammatories. I am traveling in Peru and had really bad swelling on my gums at the back. I see a dentist and my wisdom tooth is growing at an angle. But due to my age an operation would mean resting for a few days and because I am on vacation they advised me to keep the wisdom tooth in and cut the tissue around it and clean it. I was also prescribed antibiotics and painkillers for the swollen gum caused by the wisdom tooth. They said the swelling and pain would go but I will have to take the tooth out soon. I have now taken 13 out of 15 antibiotics but still have some swelling and pain on the gums. I am worried the tooth is preventing the swelling to go down and maybe I should get the tooth removed sooner rather then later.

One week ago I experienced pain & swelling below my right jaw & into my neck. I started on Amoxicillan, 500 mg. twice a day. I am still having problems. I am out of the country where I have health insurance and am reluctant to spend $1000. deductible on my travel insurance policy to see a doctor. I have been on Humira for about a year and a half. It has been very good for me. I noticed right from the beginning that I had a lot of swelling in my body but mostly in my feet and lower legs. About 7-9 lbs in the week of my injection. I decided that I could handle it and it was much better than the Psoriatic Arthritis AND my skin cleared about 95%. I have always had a lot of sinus and ear infections so I have to take antibiotics for a lot longer now when I get one and sometimes I have to stop the injections until it clears up. I was on Omnicef almost 2 and half months ago now for a severe upper respitory infection, they gave me a antibiotic shot then 2 weeks of omnicef. I didn't realize I was having a reaction to it when my ankles, legs, hands, feet started swelling, I finished the whole 2 weeks of it. Thought it was maybe because I was so sick and inactivity. I started gaining weight and my ankles feet, legs, belly hands have continued to swell, I have continued to have loose stools and gain more weight, even though I am the healthiest eater out there. I was prescribed xarelto 20 mg for 20 days following foot surgery, due to a history of a clot in my calf, took last pill day before yesterday and my whole body, but especially my foot is swollen and retaining fluid I am fatigued and sore. I stopped taking my Neurontin after having what I think is an allergic reaction to the med. I was started on 100mg once a day for a week, then went to 200mg once a day for 1 week. A few days after starting the 200mg my eyes started itching, I didn't really think too much about it. Then about 3 days after I was increased to 300mg my eyes started swelling with blurred vision and runny eyes. I also couldn't understand why my throat felt as though it was shutting off and I started getting flu like symptoms and my face was swollen as well.
