Wrong. They test for coke, pcp, opi (heroin, codeine, and morphine), amphetamine, and thc. I have a class A cdl and have taken several randoms. The response im replying to is dead wrong. Didnt want any to read it n panic, as i would've years ago with the same question.

No it's not. I'm a driver myself and have past many dot tests while taking my suboxone.

I think everyone is confusing FMCSA drug testing with Company drug testing policies.....

- Per the FMCSA website, it clearly states which drugs they test for, and Suboxone (i.e. buprenorphine/naloxone) is NOT on their list.

- The FMCSA website also clearly states that their drug testing is just their own, and drivers are subject to individual company drug testing as well, which could go above and BEYOND what the FMCSA tests for.

So, for those asking, if you are taking suboxone legally with a prescription, you should be OK to pass your physical and drug screen for a Class A CDL. However, you may run into more stringent drug testing with any prospective employer you chose to apply for a job with.

I am a suboxone user - I have been prescribed suboxone for around 9 months now. I am going to try and taper off soon, as I have heard horror stories of those who have been on this for 5+ years, which I do not want to become. What I do hate though are those people who have never used this medication to help them get off opiates, and think you feel high off of it. Any former drug abuser who uses suboxone does not feel high, or use it as a high substitute for opiates ..... it just doesn't do that. For former opiate abusers who manage to get off of them with the help of suboxone, all it does is allow you to not get 'dope-sick' when you stop using. However, it is a double edged sword because it replaces the opiate brain response (the receptors in your brain), and you will get just as 'dope-sick' stopping suboxone cold turkey as well. That is why so many people continue to use it year after year. They cannot break free from the suboxone, and go right back to being dope-sick without it. Suboxone lets one avoid that, and lead a normal, non high, non dope-sick life, but you are still paying a price. But suboxone does not impair you in the least. Because of this, you can lead a normal life.... that is, until an employer drug tests you for it and wants to fire you for it anyway, even though it has no negative affect or impairment on you, or your abilities. That sucks!

Really good to know. Been on sub for 4 yrs saved my life. Gonna go drive a school bus. Never been high from sub. Praying all goes well. I guess the question is if you take it WITH RX, should you just NOT TELL? Is it automatic termination?

No s*** Sherlock. That's not even relevant here. Yes when your on sub and you go to your doc of course they are testing to make sure it "is" in your system. This has absolutely nothing to do with a DOT test.

This wasn't to you Sammy. Just wanted to be clear on that. That last reply was in response to another poster.

13 panel is the first panel that test for suboxone. A Dot panel is a 5 panel. This is why some people say that suboxone shows up in there test. I have been taking a Dot drug screens for 24 years. Dot wants the standard test to be raised to a 10 panel because the standard 5 panel doesn't cover all pain meds. But like I said it's only starts showing up in a 13 panel witch court ordered testing is like a 15 panel.

This guy is right on with this. Only a 10 panel will show the vic. Perc. And dot currently test at 5 panel. DOT has been trying to get the standard 10 panel in to law for years now. So just look for whenever the 10 panel test is that standard. But for now it's a 5 panel for DOT. Most court ordered testing is 15 panel.

No. Its probably only going to be a 5 panel dot test and like others have said that's what it is as of now but eventually it will probably be a 10 panel and even then you should be fine with the subs. I'm sure one day it will be standard to test for that as well but I'm assuming since its so expensive that's why they don't as of now.

Thanks for the information. I was scheduled to have my DOT fiscal today but my doctor was so kind as to call me and tell me that they could not issue a health card while I was being prescribed subutex. I never heard that before today. Thanks again.

I have been taking buphrenorphine for over ten years at 24 mg per day. Yes it is a high dose but i feel nothing euphoric about it. I concentrate better than on opiates or nothing at all and i operate dangerous equipment that will kill you if in the wrong spot. I have better wits about me than many of the other employees who take nothing. I have quicker reaction times at the stop lights than others and observe things that others wont catch that are sitting next to me. I drive many miles everyday and drive safer than when i was younger. Everyone else i speak to that is on sub has said the same thing. It is a very safe drug when used correctly. Now if i quit for two weeks then went back to my full dose i would be high with no care in the world.

I've got a dot test Friday, I only take a tiny sliver of a sub to keep the crazy leg syndrome away, hope everything goes well. Not my first, I've taken HF and UA for five years and passed, but this test is for a new company for which I've been taking subs for about 6 months now.

This is all so confusing, getting answers about the use of soboxon,it shows,it don't show./letter from your dr, if prescribed. I just read here!!! If you don't tell them your on it,they won't know, but if you get in an accident and it comes up ,they know!! But I'm reading it doesn't show....???? Is the test diffrent at an accident, than reg drug test?
My question is this!! Soboxon 2 mg daily,is not enough to alter your mind or driving ability in any way at all,yet this medication is highly addictive. Does the dose have any bearing on weather they ok you to drive CMV.???? THE DOSAGE FOR DAY????
