Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 72)

Updated

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

Connie, getting the letters mixed up sounds like you may have developed Dyslexia, which is something my son was diagnosed with at a very young age so that's why I know a lot about it. Now if you were to say that you were having trouble with remembering the words as a whole, such as myself that would be different. And it can be words that you have used all your life when in a conversation but just won't come out when you need them to or maybe you have to set there and think about it for a few seconds and even then it may never come to you unless you ask someone. I have to ask my son all the time to help me with the word I am trying to use but can't seem to get the thought process going to be able to get it out. I have been on Lyrica off and on for almost 10 years now. I give myself a break from it from time to time and deal with the pain in other ways or with the opioids I have to take for other types of pain or use the Volteran Gel prescribed to help in conjunction with the Lyrica and the opioid. I also use a moist/dry heating pad and ice packs as well. I hope you get the relief you are seeking and I too am searching for an attorney who may be involved in a class action lawsuit over this drug because I am having a myriad of symptoms, too many to name because of this medication but like some folks, I just can't afford pain wise to cut it completely out of my life until they can come up with something else that controls the terrible stinging/burning/stabbing pains from Fibro. Good luck to you hun... :)

Hi everyone, along with most of the problems everyone is having, in the last year I have started getting a very bad temper that was not there before taking Lyrica and the doctors think I am just seeking drugs, that is not the case here. I have started backing off the opiods so l can hopefully get my life back. Lyrica is a very bad drug.

Hi all, I was prescribed lyrica by my doctor in June 2016 for lower back pain, chronic rotator cuff disease and degenerative disc disease. The first 2 weeks i was taking 25mg twice daily, there after it was doubled 50mg twice daily. Initially i found it to work quite well for about two months. I would sweat heavily through the night, be dehydrated day and night, also confused, bad mood swings, my co-ordination was badly affected, behavior changed, started saying and doing things that were totally out of character for me to do. These are just some of the side effects I encountered, the list goes on and on. When i realized how bad things were getting i decided to halve the dose for the first month, then stop them all together. 1 week later i am still struggling with bad withdrawal symptoms. After explaining to my gp all the bad side effects and they were of no benefit to me he still wants me to keep taking them. My reply was i wouldn't as a result of the problems they have caused me and also my poor long suffering wife, he did not seem to care. My advice to anyone else taking this medication, please discontinue use asap. I never asked for this medication and now i have stopped will never take them again. The only reason i see this gp is because there are limited doctors in the small town where i live and no other doctors will take on new patients. p.s. i really struggled to write this comment as the lyrica has affected me so badly.

If there isn't there should be. Lyrica is bandied around like lollies. I have been on 100mg for over 2 years until yesterday-after reading what these things do to the actual brain I have now cut the dose in half & will most definitely will be cutting id down to zero as soon as possible. They make you think that the pain is reduced but the side effects are very definitely not worth it & I will never go on it again. I need my brain to work properly not be fuddled & have the synapses reduced.

Hey all, sorry to hear about the misery and suffering that lyrica has caused.I posted my bad experience with this drug last month.I forgot to mention my Doctors response, upon telling him of my intention of discontinuation. He swiftly replied you are refusing treatment, even though i told him about the horrible side effects i was getting. So a few days later i commenced taking lyrica again. Now that ive started taking them again he is very happy, the problem is i am not. I cant stand being on them, but as said before,my Gp views it as refusing treatment. He is also reducing other pain medications i take because of the bad side effects he claims they cause, i dont get any bad side effects from them, is what i told him, because that is the truth, can anyone believe i have been basically forced back onto lyrica by my doctor. This is doing my head in, any advice would be greatly appreciated as i cant stand taking them.

Hey guys, is anyone here from Australia, and seeking legal advice, for the debylatating side effects caused by the use of lyrica, if so could you please keep me updated on progress. Remember this one thing, We are all victims of this despicable drug, and i firmly believe we should all be compensated for the ongoing suffering caused by this medication.

Good morning, one thing everyone has to remember is that we are in charge of our own care. If your doctor keeps prescribing Lyrica then it's time to find a new doctor if you don't like what lyrica is doing to you. That's what I did I found a new doctor I'm happy with the doctor and we found that the side effects of Lyrica have caused some mental illness and we're trying to treat that right now.

Hi all, Jim you make a valid point, but there are people who are not in the same position as you, e.g. others may not be able to see due to lack of doctors in the area where they reside, doctors refusing to take on new patients, it may even be as a result of them not having the financial resources. In Australia not all doctors will bulk bill for their services, even though they have the capabilities to do so. I put this down to greed, as they are paid the next day for bulk billing, by the Australian government. Therefore if you do not have the finances what else can you do. I hope this answers your question.

Thank you, that is a very good point. The resources in the US may be getting harder to.

They need to find the cause of fibro myalgia, not just treat the effects. I find a lot of doctors prescribing medicine just based on symptoms. I think it is all to save them money, not save the patient anymore.

I am wondering the same. My daughter died on Valentines Day this year (2017) and I believe that she became more suicidal after she commenced Lyrica. I too am in Australia.

I am so sorry to hear that your daughter passed, please when you're able take time to write down what she was like before the Lyrica and what she was like after the Lyrica. That was one of the reasons why I stopped taking Lyrica along with the swelling and difficulty breathing.
