How To Inject Methadone 25mg Pills (Page 2)

I was takeing hydromorph contin 24 mg 6 times a day intravenously, now i'm prescribed methadone pills 25 mg twice a day but i'm not sure how to take them or if its more dangerous than doing the hydromorph contin ones. if someone could tell me how to make the mix. Should i not be doing this type at all?

Blake 809. How can u critacise someone for asking how to shoot up methadone. U say u just started taking methadone and it scares u- u keep badgerin dude about what the "Hell" is wrong with him blah blah n he needs to get help. Let me ask u this- WHY Are u even on this website and why would u even be reading up on " how to shoot Methadone"? Sounds like u being a hypocrote n tryn to find out how to shoot some s*** up for urself. PREACH TO SOMEONE else.

I already do and always will,. take them in great prescribed amounts. Used to be for sciatica. Have been through 2 cases of cancer. BUT I need no rationalization- I have a receptor maladjustment according to the most current info.

All I can tell you is that I could not live a decwent life with anyu happiness without them and am grateful for the fact that I can get them legally because I WOULD get them illegally- as i have before. So anyone who thinks I am whatever the person above seems to think, I want to set the record straight. HOWEVER- I still maintain there are no 25 mg methadone pills and that anyone who is shooting something intended for eating is at best taking huge health risks. I know. I injected myself into a case of Meningitis and another of Encephalitis. Near death experiences, near suicide too.

I am an opiate addict , 8 years in recovery thanks to Methadone therapy. I made sure I read and studied everything possible, the good and bad, on this medication prior to its use. I also lookied into other forms of therapy, including rapid detox(doesnt work long term) 12 step (works for some not for others and the recidivism rate is high) I also looked into suboxone (good for a portion of addicts but my tolerance and usage level was wayy to high to have this drug be useful to me) So I went to the MMT clinic and here I aam, 8 years without putting a needle in my arm. For those who posted about Fibromyalgia being "the ne word for hypochondria",...I have news for you..it is very real and very debilitating. I have Lupus, and Fibro, also Hep C and liver disease. It causes severe pain and also chronic fatigue ssyndrome. I guess you'd say "oh thats the new word for lazy". I WISH it was a dream not my living breathing reality. I dont look for doctors to give me drugs for it so why would I make this up? What person would????!!!! I hope and pray that your snide, unsubstantiated remarks dont end up finding YOU with a disease that the medical community cannot find a cure for or pain without a source to be found. It makes you feel like you are losing your mind as well as causing the most intense pain you can think of. Now topping all these things off, we , as MMT patients, STILL get treated as trash and unworthy of respect , trust, or compassion. When we go to the ER , we are treated as if we are still drug seeking and are left more often than not, in pain because they are afraid to treat us. Im always telling my husband that I PRAY I'm never in a wreck and cant talk because there are so many meds that precipitate instant withdrawal when given on top of the methadone. I had a terrible experience once already with this fact and never want to go there again! I hallucinated and had seizure after seizure. The oh so smart dr did nothing and said "she has to ride it out"...Thank God for a kind nurse who saw this, recognized it and got another , more educated dr who , with the help of Morphine, valium, and phenergan reversed it ( I was given Nubain, a opiate agonist)
A;; i am trying to say is, used correctly this medication saves lives. If you are still trying to shoot up, no matter what it is youre putting in the rig, you are not ready to quit yet. I was sick of the whole mess and ready to lay down and die when I finally found treatment. Some have a lot longer to go than me, others far less, but we all reach bottom and try to quit or we die from our disease. This is a disease, do not get things crossed up..it has an insidious purpose and will destroy you mind body and soul. Before you make any statement about any method of therapy or the disease behind it, read up and do your homework.

forgive my no caps and sloppy reply,fractured my Larm and can't use it.i read your reply well said.some of these people who seem to be heartless and have never had to live with a 24x7 thing like fibromyalgia need a dose of our pain for just 24 hrs. as i have stated in another reply i was ready to just go buy a gun off the street and end it all. we have a constant battle with the medical community looking at us saying drug seekers.
even the ortho dr wouldn't give me any break through med because i take pain meds for my fibromyalgia. thank the good lord my rheumatology dr gave me something extra to help me out. i'm just sick and tired of being treated like this as i'm sure you are. my best to you. don't know where you live but i live in eastern pa.and winter is coming. so my pain is about to get a whole lot worse in the next few months. feel better!!!

Not by YOUR definition. Just by the whole medical profession's. It's more than obvious that you have a severe lack of empathy.

Leave us alone, we who struggle with this disorder; we've been attacked by people like you for all the years since the Harrison Narcotics Act took away our choice as to what substances we could legally use. We have to fight the law to stay out of jail, ignorant rural MDs to get anything legal (better in the city), some of our families, and now ignorant people like you? I'd LOVE to deal with you person-to-person, face to face.

Rebecca, I happen to be a medical professional, as well as a fibromyalgia sufferer for more than 15 years & I can assure you it's not a "figment of your imagination" disease. That's just plain ignorance on your part, esp with all of the latest research & studies out there to help manage the disorder & come up with new treatments. In fact, it's not even a DISEASE. It's a disorder of your neurologic system. A disorder is a constellation of symptoms some of which CAN be detected by medical tests. It's true in the past that doctors used to think of it as a "psychiatric" or "depression" issue but no more. The reason they DO all the tests is to rule out a more serious life-threatening illness because fibro symptoms mimic other rheumatic diseases but thee ARE physical tests that can be done to confirm the diagnosis of fibro. I'm appalled at the audacity of people like you to say ignorant crap like that when you have absolutely no idea at all what fibro patients go through. On the other hand for those suffering from fibro, narcotics only exacerbate the disease. I have other more serious life-threatening illness which require me to be on narcotics from time to time & I happened across this board & this post after I was put on methadone for pain relief after my second hip replacement & wanted to know if it was safe to use. Fibro sufferers, I was diagnosed in 1997 & once they got my non-narcotic med regimen balanced, I have had few to no exacerbations. A reg, balanced diet with the help of a food journal to help you identify food triggers, REG, but not too strenuous, exercise & relaxation exercises to help with stress & promote stage 4 sleep (which we are lacking) won't cure your fibro but certainly will improve the quality of your life. Before telling people they're crazy or hypocondriacs, you should prob get your facts straight!

yes there are, ive been on them for years.
After I broke my back in 8 spots I was on painkillers and became addicted, so I now use methadone (25mg tablets) twice a day.

Okay, the question was... How to shoot up methadone, not if fibromyalgia is real or please criticize me because I do drugs. I am on this page because I want to know how to bang it/if it can be banged. All of the people on here that are just here to judge and insult, my question is... Why are you even looking up how to bang it if you don't know or don't want to know. Get a life! Oh, it would be great if someone could answer the actual question because I would really like to know myself.

ohhhh....addiction is a disease but fybromyalgia isnt??? like i said, my niece has a disease called cancer and she didnt buy it on a street corner and shoot it in her arm or get a script for it from a doctor and abuse it...

Yes there is a 25 mg methadone tablet in Canada. It is called Metadol. And I too have a few of them and want to know if they can be injected, so if anyone can answer the REAL question here..... thanks.

Every time an obvious addict or the casual user asks a serious question about the use or misuse of a drug no one tells them the truth. Instead a bunch of 12 steppers get on their high horse about the rights and wrongs of their intended attempts. Why don't people just say yes you can do that or no you cant and here is why. You are taking a big risk with somebody elses life. If they had the nerve to post their question what makes you think they are not going to do it anyway after you said there is something mentally wrong with them.

Fibromyalgia is a doctor's lazy way of not bothering to diagnose someone. Half of the people DX with it actually have Lyme disease which you catch from a tick. If no doctor ever DXs the Lyme and it turns tertiary (late stage) it causes all the symptoms of Fibro. and other diseases such as MS, Autism type illness, Parkinson’s and more. It is very cruel of you to say it is something that Hypochondriacs’ have, but I understand why you would lash out. That person was a jerk when talking to you about your dealings with drugs. I am actually on this site because doctors are so lazy and stupid and wont help me get well and the government is just as bad. Go to YouTube and put in Lyme and watch some of the problems Lyme can give you. My pain is so bad I am actually considering shooting my medications because I can't get enough help the correct way. I have tried for years and after so much time I am out of ideas. So my question is can you shoot up methadone into muscles and does it last longer that way and does anyone have experience with doing this for pain relief? Also would I use the same amt or less? I am not trying to get high so I guess when I ask about the amount I am asking if the same amount would be more effective if injected?

Methadone has a very high oral bio-availability, around 80%. You will find very little difference in the amount of pain relief you get out of it from injecting it as opposed to taking it orally. When you hear of people who shoot their methadone, they are doing so to try to get a "rush" from it. Unless you have the injectable ampoules made for IVing, then there is going to be risks involved with injecting it. Given what good oral bio-availability it had, it's totally not worth the risk to inject it, when it will be almost as effective to just take it orally.

Sorry I just re-read your post and realized you are talking about IMing and not IVing. That would be a complete waste, as the bio-availability is higher when taken orally than it is when injected intramuscularly.

I was hoping bypassing stomach acids may help it be more helpful.
I appreciate your help. I guess it is just time to try new dr w/better ideas. Does anyone have any ideas what drug is considered the best for burning nerve pain? I have tried morphine and it was as if I was taking aspirin. I, for some reason, have the tolerance of an elephant but drs never consider that when prescribing to me and I tell them every time, uggg! I am running out of ideas and have not been able to sit for 6 years. I can not get them to destroy my spine from the problem spot down and haven’t figured a way to do it myself. But I would be freer in wheel chair sitting than in bed all the time. Have tried spinal cord stimulation and cortisone in spinal area (that almost killed me). Drs have NO personal experience with drugs or pain, which is why I thought posting here, may get me better info. Who knows better than people who live it every day? I don’t care about the price anymore if the payoff is worth it. Some freedom and quality of life is worth loosing the ability to walk.
