Suboxone, Drug Cards, Percocets

I just started on Suboxone a few days ago. We're still even trying to figure out my dose. I have a lot of health issues that cause pain and one being endometriosis. Because i just started suboxone, i haven't had my period on it yet and i don't know how that will go. In June i got a script for June and a script for July of percocets. I have a script for percocets at the pharmacy. Would it be illegal and could i get in trouble or considered double doctoring, to fill that script with the same drug card i use for suboxone? So i have a back up just incase this doesn't work out especially around that time of month when ur on the floor throwing up from just pure pain alone. (I do not use the same pharmacy for suboxone as i do for percocets because when u start on suboxone u go to the oharmacy everyday for ur pill, the other pharmacy where my percs are at is way too far to go everyday)

Are your Suboxone and Percocet prescriptions from the same doctor? If they are not the same then you might get in trouble if neither of your doctor's know about either prescription. I have known people on Suboxone to get pain meds but usually the prescribing doctor for the pain meds is in contact with their Suboxone doctor.

They aren't the same Dr. My suboxone Dr and Family Dr aren't in contact especially since i went in on my own and didn't even tell my family Dr i was going because my family Dr was getting rid of all patient's who need pain medication, even cancer patients. I know i get kicked out of the program if pain meds turn up in my urine, but is it illegal just to grab them from the pharmacy for a just incase? If not, and this suboxone doesn't help for my period, ill end up in the emergency room because it gets soo bad.

You would get in trouble. I am not sure about illegal but the main trouble would be the pharmacies and your doctors being able to see that you are receiving Suboxone and Percocet from different doctors which they might call "doctor shopping" even if that's not your intention. Especially since you are using different pharmacies. Unless your suboxone doctor knew about it I think it wouldn't be wise to grab them if you want to stay on the suboxone. Your suboxone doctor would be able to see that you filled your pain meds. I understand why you would need them. You could probably grab them and expect to find a new suboxone doctor if you get kicked off. However, there would also be the issue of pharmacies seeing that you filled 2 different controlled substances from 2 different doctors around the same time frame. Which is also a big red flag for pharmacies unless it was approved by both doctors. Maybe call your suboxone doctor and explain to them what's going on? Or your pain doctor whomever you feel most comfortable talking with and see if its okay to grab them just in case. Thats really all I can think of.

Aside from the issues that Marie has stated, because doctor shopping is considered illegal, it's labeled as fraud, there is also the fact that while taking Suboxone, other opiates will not work for you. Usually, you have to be off of the Suboxone for at least 3 days, before other opiates will work for you, again.

The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, and constipation.
