Catherine, Four days after my first injection of Prolia I developed disabling pain on my feet soles. I could not walk.... a day or two later the lower part of my legs were covered by red, swollen bumps that were hot to the touch and extremely painful, down to the bone. I ended up in Emergency at a local hospital and underwent all sort of tests for a possible strep infection that I did not have. No one wanted to listen to me talking about this ill-prescribed medication even though I insisted I had received the first shot 4 days earlier. I found it curious how they wanted to avoid the subject.... I was only prescribed Naproxen, which did not help in 8 days of taking 500 mg twice a day. After much suffering and desperation, I went to see my Rheumatologist friend in Cuba who explained to me that what I had on my legs was called Erythema Nodosum, that may be the result of an auto immune reaction to a medication. She explained to me how this (monoclonal antibody type of drugs) are extremely dangerous and how, because they drive your immune system “crazy” Prolia is counter indicated for people who are immuno-depressed or who had cancer. She also explained that unfortunately given the state of disability I was in, I had no choice but to be put on Corticosteroids (Prednisone), which i am now on. 10 mg twice a day until the symptoms begin to disappear and then reducing gradually until fully stoping it. (Prednisone cannot be suspended abruptly). I am still in pain and partially disabled as I only began to walk again two days ago. I am very weak, have lost 12 pounds since i had the first and only-ever shot of PROLIA-the-Poison, on March 31, 2017. I now have palpitations and shortness of breath, get easily tired, have food intolerance, constant fatigue, look as if I had aged 10 years and have lost my excellent level of fitness that I was so proud of at age 60. I was on my exact weight, going to Spinning, Yoga and Toning 3 times a week. If ever someone knows a bout a legal case against this killer drug, or the Pharmaceutical Company, I want to know about it. No money in the world will give me back my precious health, but if one person is spared the suffering I am going through, I will be somehow more resigned. I hope this helps someone.......

Fully agree with you: Pharmaceutical poison. I cannot believe the FDA gave authorization to release this killer. I have developed so many auto-immune symptoms only a few days after taking the first injection that I want to take this as far as I can because after doing some research (not a lot, just a little) I see how many people have been fooled into believing this calcium killer that can also cause bone death (osteonecrosis!).... Pathetic what we are living with these days... {edited for privacy}

Hi all~there is a law firm in the State of Georgia that is taking people with broken femurs from Prolia. I just wrote them a note and asked if they would consider expanding their case against Amgen. So far, they have broken femurs from most states in the US. I will let everyone know the answer when I get it. Be well~Pood

My scalp is on fire and full of nasty red sores that are itchy and burning since my shot. I will never do this again. It has been six weeks and is just getting worse. The rest of my body is so itchy I can barely stand it. Antihistamines do nothing.

Yes Willy you might go to physician and get a medrol dose pack to cool your immune system. The rash will flare before each 16 day 1/2 life of thedrug for 6 months. You will be more susceptible to rash reactions to any topical substance after the 6 months

Re: ANN (# 21) Expand Referenced Message

I had my first injection of Prolia October 11 2017. A week later I developed hives on my scalp and now have a server rash on my body. The itching and burning are driving me insane and nothing seems to help. I've taken steroids and have topical ointments and nothing is touching this. It's been four months and it seems this rash is getting worse. Any suggestions... I'm not taking my second injection, I refuse to.

I had the same experience. My 1st injection was October 11th, 2017 and one week later my scalp was itching and burning with hives... Then the nasty rash invaded my whole body. I tried steroids and have topical ointment, topical steroid creams and nothing is helping. The Drs say it's not the shot that caused this reaction but I've never had any issues before this injection... I've been itching for 7 months almost...Does it ever go away? I think there should be a class action lawsuit against the company that makes this poison.

Hi Willy,

I developed eczema from the Prolia.

This might help:
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, itching, rash; difficult breathing, feeling light-headed; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have:
• new or unusual pain in your thigh, hip, or groin;
• severe pain in your joints, muscles, or bones;
• skin problems such as dryness, peeling, redness, itching, blisters, bumps, oozing, or crusting; or
• low levels of calcium in your blood (hypocalcemia)--numbness or tingly feeling around your mouth or in your fingers or toes, muscle tightness or contraction, overactive reflexes.
Serious infections may occur during treatment with Prolia. Call your doctor right away if you have signs of infection such as:
• fever, chills, night sweats;
• swelling, pain, tenderness, warmth, or redness anywhere on your body;
• pain or burning when you urinate;
• increased or urgent need to urinate;
• severe stomach pain; or
cough, feeling short of breath.
Common side effects may include:
bladder infection (painful or difficult urination);
• back pain, muscle pain; or
• pain in your arms or legs.
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Hugs,
Nikki

Willy, please look under Prolia side effects on this site. We have almost 900 people writing and talking about Prolia. You sort of worded your question wrong to land on the mega load of Prolia problems.

Yes, it's from Prolia and requires medical attention. You will probably have to take written confirmation to make any MD believe you as it is too new for them to know much about it, let alone what to do to help us. Also call Amgen in CA and the FDA if you are in the USA. If not, all countries have their own number to contact Amgen, the manufacturer of this biologic poison. Be well~

My Prolia shot was the beginning of Feb 2016 and my side effects included jaw pain (which the doctor will not verify but I cannot open my mouth wide enough to eat a banana! because of the pain); however, the worst is the skin issue. That started on my scalp and also my back. My scalp is still affected over a year later. It is just awful, very painful lesions that are large bumps similar to bad acne. Not only are they painful, but they are extremely itchy and that is a very bad combination. I have seen several dermatologists about the problem and none can seem to help much. I have been on so many drugs to take it away.This 4th dr. I am with now, and have been seeing for a few months was also going to refer me to someone else but I asked her if she could try Doxycycline first. It has helped somewhat. I had to do my own research to find this drug. I have gone from about 3 doz. horrible, large, bleeding bumps on my scalp to 8. I am hoping those go to. I cannot even go to a hairdresser because of the embarrassment that would cause me. Good luck with your issue and if you fine something that works for you please let me know what it is.

kitkat~has your Doctor given your Prednisone pills? You can have 10mg/day for a year which should get rid of the Prolia rash. You will probably have to get it from a Rheumatologist because other Docs are afraid of it. You do have to taper off of it SLOWLY because it can cause your blood to go crazy when you quit cold turkey and you will get DVT's and PE's. It takes a wicked drug to fight a wicked drug and Prolia is the worst of all. Be well~Pood

Willy I to got the rash and every 16 days as the half life nears it resurfaces. I am 3 months out from the injection and the rash is less itchy and doesnt have the scabbed center that it did. My skin isn't as leathery, but it is still very dry. It was so bad at first I had to take some prednisone to help relieve the symptoms. then I used 1%topical hydrocortisone lotion to control the itching. Pood eludes to the fact that acupunture may help as well. I havent done that yet but am looking into it.

Maritere~20mg of Prednisone a day is a bit much. Can you tolerate 10mg's to handle your problems? Prednisone is a very dangerous drug in itself and you want to get better, not die on us. Congrats~You had to go to Cuba to find a Dr. that tells the truth about this drug. Yes, it brings out unknown problems we have in our DNA that were never a problem before. It binds to RANKL which includes our immune system too so we are at risk for all kinds of infections and problems. If you can, please lower Prednisone to 10mg per day. You can stay on that for a year. It's hard on bones but we do need help. As I have said many times here it takes an evil drug to fight an evil drug. It's been a couple of years since I had only one shot and it almost killed me. I do not in the least look like I did when I had that one and only inj. of pure poison. Loss of 65 pounds in 3 months was too much for my body to handle and now gluten intolerance which I never had previously. I had to ask: what is gluten? Hair problems seem to be a problem with Prolia too and I put the answer to that problem on the Prolia hair loss forum here. I am so very sorry for all of us -- the victims of biologic poison called Prolia. Be well~

Willy, do you still suffer from your rash? I too developed a terrible rash if you want to call it that, from my first and last Prolia shot. It has been 8 months and pain and itch on my scalp still going strong. I am seeing a dermatologist but doctors don't seem to know how to deal with this.

Cathy, if you still have the Prolia rash, the only thing that helps is Prednisone. Bad for bones but will get rid of the rash. Be well~Pood

Cathy, it is February 2017. Can you tell me how long this went on? My prolia rash is on my neck, arms, buttocks, back, and creeping up the back up my neck. My inj. was January 10th 2017 and that was #4. Think I had been having symptoms after the 3rd inj. and just didn't realize it.

Willy for sure lots of us. And for me it has waxed and waned. 5 took prednisone for 5 days and just controlled symtoms with oatmeal.baths, and topical cortisone lotion and htdrated my skin with shea nut oil. Hopefully you will be one that the sysmtoms are gone in 2.5 months. Review Poodles comments she is the most familiar

Catherine~Have you been up to your Primary to have him or her look at those legs? That is sounding a bit dangerous to me and it could mean you have DVT's in both legs. Get on this now! DVT = blood clot that will travel up your body, thru your heart and land in your lungs where they are called PE's. The shot to get rid of them is extremely dangerous and very expensive once they have reached the lung area and if you are lucky they will cause no heart damage but that is not a given. I mean go today. This is a possible huge emergency situation. Pood
