I got my ears pierced 3 months ago with medical grade plastic system due to metal allergies then my left ear began to get irritated, bleed, pus and lost of pain & very dark on back side of ear. I got antibiotics but then my entire ear began to burn, itch and pain to touch & I couldn't touch or move my earlobe without it seeming to activate this weird filling of fullness inside my ear canal. My entire ear and lope was extremely swollen & two doc's confirmed major swelling on the inside of my ear. I used antibiotic ear drops but not much help. I am thinking the antibiotics helped with the possible earlobe infection cause that is tremendously better with the exception of just not being able to move it much for fear of the inner part of the canal getting that weird feeli...

My dosage is 4x5mg daily for 5 days then 3 for 3 days then 2 daily for 3 days then 1 tablet daily for 3 days then stop My question is ! On the daily dosage for example 4 tablets per day do they have to be taken altogether or do you space them out over the day ## Hello, Alan! How are you? They can be taken either way, depending on what works best for you. Some people prefer to split them up to try to minimize the side effects. The U.S. FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, insomnia and nervousness. Is there anything else I can help with?

prednisone and colchicine

Have gout....Doctor wants me to take Colchicine 0.6 mg 2 times a day plus finish out a pack of Prednisone 10 mg with 6 pills left ## Hello, Joanne! How are you? The Prednisone may slightly reduce the efficacy of the Colchicine. But that's the only interaction I've found listed. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Colchicine as possibly including diarrhea, nausea, cramping and abdominal pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

Have gout.....Doctor wants me to take Colchicine 0.6 mg twice a day plus finish out pack of Prednisone 10 mg with 6 pills left ## Hello, Joanne! How are you? Yes, they can be taken together, with your doctor's approval, the only problem listed is that the Prednisone may slightly reduce the efficacy of the colchicine. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Blood Pressure Problems on Prednisone
2 Replies RSS
Hello all......I have Ocular Toxoplasmosis that requires rather high Prednisone treatments. The last time I took it - 2013 - I had high blood pressure - 180/100. This is a scary side effect and I am very afraid that now that I have a recurrence of the Toxo and have had to start Pred again that the BP will shoot up. Has anyone experienced increased side effects the longer you are on Prednisone or should I just expect the same? ## Hello, ASed! How are you? There's really no way to predict anything with high doses of steroids. Elevated blood pressure is a normal side effect, it can also elevate your heart rate, cause insomnia, fluid retention and acne, as listed by the FDA. One thing you could do is ask your doctor about possibly taking a blood pressure medication while you're taki...

tapering off predisone

Hi, my teenage daughter has been taking 40mgs for a little over a month. The doctor is now tapering her off. We are currently at 25. In the process she has had pseudoseizures and passing out. Could this be caused from the prednisone??? She has had every diagnostic done so it's not epilepsy. She suffers from GI problems. She had a colonoscopy done in dec and had inflammation in her colon. Thank you. ## Hello, Alicia! How is your daughter doing? Fainting can be due to withdrawal syndrome, which can occur in some people, even if they are tapering off of steroids and aren't stopping them abruptly, as reported by the NIH. However, after research, I've not seen anything about pseudoseizures. Is she on any other medications? Has she ever experienced them before? ## No she hasn'...
