I Need To Find A Pain Management Doctor In Connecticut (Top voted first)

Updated

ATTENTION EVERYONE, PLEASE HELP ME. I desperately need anyone's help to find me a new liberal pain management doctor anywhere in Connecticut who will increase my current dose of oxycodone pain medication from 10mg four times a day which im currently prescribed to at least 30mg three times a day without giving me a hassle like I'm some type of drug addict which I'm honestly not even though my current doctor treats me like it even though in all honesty my pain level really is bad enough to require such a high dose. Anyone please give me any info. I need to contact another pain clinic doctor in Connecticut who will probably increase my oxycodone meds without giving me a hard time. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Please respond as soon as possible. Thanks a lot. Peace everyone, hope you all receive the proper pain management care you all deserve.

Pablo, Verwon is right. Doctor's & pharmacists are forced to stand by the very messed up new rules that the D.E.A. have established. You should maybe talk to your doctor, ask him/her to give you another pain med or maybe talk to him/her about helping you to taper off of such a high dosage. Don't get me wrong...I UNDERSTAND how you feel. I take a low dosage of Oxycodone daily; I have to. But, I had to force myself to take less than the prescribed dosage because I was afraid to run completely out. Which is what happened this month. I tripped and lost my footing at my pond. Fell down and rolled right into the water. Ay, ay,ay that was scary. Anyway, had to take extra medicine for the pain I felt but ran out. I haven't had any Oxycodone for 6 days. I haven't had any of the w/drawl effects that I've read people have after a couple of days of not taking it. I don't know, they may still come. I'm scared that I'm gonna wake up in a hot sweat and start falling apart. I read that there are people that are starting to look to the streets for their pain meds, marijuana too!

Ironic isn't it? A certain percentage of doctor's, pharmacist, D.E.A and general public have decided for us that truly need pain med, that it's habit forming. Well, those of us w/a brain already knew that! But we suffer pain from ailments that will NEVER go away! So give us a break!

I sure do hope you get what you need Pablo.

I'm looking for a doctor in ct that will prescribe Percocet. I suffer daily with pain and certain doctors just don't get it. Maybe if they felt what i feel they would be more sympathetic. Just sucks. Does anyone have any ideas? Please let me know

It's terrible and so is that administration. What do they do for pain? I'm also looking for a dr. In Hartford area. Perhaps a anesthesiologist? We sure need a change. I'm in wallingford pain care and they have reduced me from 40mg oxycontin to 15 mg morphine. Any suggestions? 2× a day does not work for oxys, they only last 8 hrs. Not 12. HELP.

Hmm..40mg to 90 mgs per day is not how it works bro...if you think you need that kind of increase you are either selling them or taking them recreationally.,.. It's folks like you who have made it so hard for the folks who really need the help.

I'm surprised you've been able to get that many prescribed nowadays! I too live in CT and even though I've followed my Dr orders to a T they've reduced me to 1/4 of what was my "normal" to have somewhat of a life!. After a year of bedridden non stop pain I'm beginning to think death will just be easier...at least my suffering will end. If you do find assistance sharing that info would be wonderful for fellow sufferers!

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND ONE ASAP!!! My current pain managent doctor just advised last week that there is this new NEVADA DEA LAW that is demanding doctors to cut back on opiate RX they prescribe. I am in fear that this will send me into DYING PAIN!! I currently take (4) perc 10mgs a day. I really need (4) 15mg oxycodone a day to keep my pain away.
SOMEONE HELP!!!!

I'm a 41yr old woman who formed a rare disease in my hip joints causing them to deteriorate within my body when I was 32yrs old. I was then badly treated by the orthopedic clinic that put in my hip replacements as they had me dragging my legs behind me on crutches for 9 months & after threatening to go to the news stations, finally did my operations but put bad prosthetics in me. I've been living with horrid pain for years while trying to find a surgeon to fix this problem & do revision surgery to help with the pain, legs locking up, horrible bruising, swelling, etc. I deal with on a daily basis. I'm bedridden most of the time & have no life. My mother taught me to always find the silver lining & you'll get through any problem, no matter how hopeless it may seem. But since i formed a heart condition from being forced to deal with this extreme pain daily for 3 yrs straight & now have to take heart meds to control it as much as possible, it's harder to focus & the silver is dimming.... fast! I have state insurance as I obviously cannot work and there are only 2 Dr's in CT that are licensed to do revision surgeries and neither are taking new patients so the husky case nurse that's been part of my care plan is now looking for a surgeon out of state. But until they can be fixed (which is my choice of i had one) I need pain control. Husky suggested going on methadone a few yrs back since no P.M. clinics were taking new patients, so I have it a try & it helped my pain quite well for about 2yrs until the pain became worse. Even at a whopping 200mg the methadone wasn't working anymore. So the methadone Dr as well as my gp decided I needed to be put on another pain med. They tried all kinds on me, both opiate & non opiate, some even have me seizures! But I was willing to do what I had to to get my life back & at least being the pain level to tolerable so I went above and beyond, jumped through hoops following the Dr's instructions to a T. They waited 3yrs & a heart condition later before putting me on 30mg oxycodone 4 times a day.

Sadly it's not enough to live comfortably but at least I get a break from the pain for a few hours here and there to get real sleep or so things like grocery shop, etc. Let me just add, I have an unusually high tolerance for pain & pain medication. I've been like they since i was a kid. I've gotten root canals, cavities next to the nerve drilled & filled with no gas, numbing, etc. Had a broken back for 2 yrs before knowing it and more examples than most believe. I don't recognize pain until it becomes severe so it takes more medication to ease it than normal. So the methadone Dr & my gp have been trying to get me into pain management for some time now and even through she's providing medication now, it won't continue for long. She keeps telling me that gps are going to be stopped from giving out opioid pain meds, they can only give 90mg a day by law, only cancer & ex camber patients can be medicated with opioid medications, etc. But i've done crazy extensive research and even spoke to the drug control agency and its all B.S.! Keeping a 90mg low is only suggested, not law as well as any Dr with a licence can prescribe what they feel is needed. The DEA just busts butt yet should butt out of Dr.- patient care! They're so worried about overdose numbers they can't see the bigger problem they're creating by denying those who need medication for their pain from getting the amount they need! If you're terribly concerned about overdose educate people. If someone's on opiates have Dr's explain what can happen if to much is taken, make narcan a staple given with opioid medications and have the Dr's explain what it does, how and when to use it. Finally saw a pain Dr in CT yesterday only to be told I need to see someone for my anxiety (um yeah, everyone's anxious when they're in extreme pain), my legs flung about then everytime I cried out in pain he rolled his eyes & snickered then told me he's cutting the dose of meds in HALF. I have to pick and choose now when to get a few hours of relief at 4 a day, so now there'll be less, plus detox then add in my current heart problem.... I'm as good as dead! Does anyone know a Dr that isn't playing Russian roulette with their patients lives in or around CT? Please? I didn't fight so hard my whole life to go out like this!

I don't think your going to find one. I have a heart condition due to dealing with my extreme pain from failing prosthetic hips. My heart Dr says if someone doesn't help me with this I will soon have a heart attack. I made both my gp&pm Dr's aware of this and they are still taking my pain meds outta the picture. No-one cares anymore about those who need the meds&are responsible with them anymore. We're being thrown into the same category as junkies&those who've od'd. Its pathetic&I've left instructions for my family to raise legal hell if I don't survive the impending doom that awaits me!

Hello, I was hit by a semitruck back in 2006 while on duty on my police motorcycle. After that I had two replacements of both knees and my lower back is constantly in pain. I've got so many doctors and they've given me plenty of shots on my back but none of them want to do surgery. I can't sleep at night most of the time and every time I try to lift anything heavy the pain just comes worse than what it was. I go to doctor visits, I go to everything, take what they tell me to take and nothing helps. The only thing in the house are the 512 Percocets 5 mg. I'm looking for a doctor that can prescribe me two times a day. They don't make me sleepy or drowsy but they help my pain. If anybody out there could let me know where I can go in Connecticut and the doctor would just listen to my questions and prescribe this medication I would gladly appreciate it. Thank you.

Sadly they have made the laws that you have to get your pain medication in the state where you reside. Bc people are traveling out of state and taking from the residents of that state and also so they can regulate and keep track through the sea system who receives what. What state do you live in
