I Have A Prescription For Hydrocodone And Been Taking It As Prescribed But Recently Took Urine Test Which Came Back Positive (Page 6) (Top voted first)

I have a prescription for Hydrocodone and have been taking it as prescribed. Recently I took a urine test which came back positive for not only Hydrocodone, but Oxycodone as well. I have only taken what has been prescribed to me, and do not take anything else. I do not know how Oxycodone showed up in this test. Any information, thoughts, theories would be greatly appriciated.

Complain to the board of medicine and maybe file a complaint about the inaccurate lab to whoever monitors labs. I had a lab tell me I had 1500 cannabis numbers when it’s usually 200. It was an absolute error because I didn’t even have any weed that week. Sometimes the labs are wrong.

They’re not legally required to treat you, but they can’t abandon care on a whim either. This doctor was reprimanded by the BOM in NH. He had to pay a fine, which doesn’t help the patient, but it helps future patients who may be in this same situation.

I have taken Percocet for years….I recently took Hydrocodone and my urine tested positive for Morphine…..I only take the meds prescribed for me…I’m 76 yrs old and my Dr threatened to dismiss from the Clinic"…I was so scared that my gout flared up from the stress.

The same thing happened to me i'm prescribed Hydrocodone and oxycodone also showed up on my ua. If it can show up as oxycodone why check for that to?

i go to a pain clinic and am prescribed percocet and ran out over a week early and took loratabs that i had at the house and then was completely out for a week and they tested my urine, i told them i had run out early and the last pill i took was a week ago. So can they tell that it was loratab and not perc?
And I had taken sudafed cause of my allergies for a few days including the day of the pee test but didnt mention that i was taking it. I googled it and it said that it will show up as meth cause its the one with the sudafedrine in it. Please Help and tell me what to think, my next appt. is in 3 weeks and im so nervous

I know all too well, I was terminated by mine, because they said I had methadone in my urine...which I have never taken. But, the guy in front of me in the lab that WAS on it. And the "nurses", or whatever they are..NEVER changed gloves...(yes, I notice these things)...HMMMM....

We are just cattle, herded thru...at 150 dollars a pop...nice racket they have...

I would ask for a blood test. This will show up what was taken. Were you given the test at the Drs. office or was it sent out to a lab. for testing. If you are taking your meds as prescribed then demand a re-test immediately. If it is sent too a lab. they generally do a split screen and keep just in case they need to do a test over again. If done in Drs. office ask right away for another test to be done. Stick to your guns.

oxycodone, and vicodin are in the same family, it must just be a false positive test. I would ask for another one. Some hydrocodone come in 10mg and same with oxycodone so that is really stupid, stand your ground and tell Dr, they are the same drug and tell him that your not taking anything but what he gives you!!! Now oxycontin is a whole other story to explain, good luck.

Instead of eating all your pills in the first two weeks. Try to hold on to the supply for the last week of the month. And then your urine will show high levels of the medication in your system. I also recommend you get off those God forsaken pills. One day you will have to face the devil and deal with the withdrawals and no more of the medicine you take for so called pain. Pretty soon within the next five years there will be no narcotic painkillers for sale. They have medication they will be releasing that kills all pain and doesn't make you feel high or addicted. Some clinics are already weaning patients off of these pills to get them ready for the Big Bang. I'm sorry everyone, pain pills will be available only in the hospital.

Crush half of a pill & stir it into your urine until it dissolves. Then you should have plenty show up in the urine test. I know a guy in severe pain & he takes his meds only when he truly needs them & sometimes he drinks so he never takes pain meds while drinking & he said that he bought a pill crusher & crushes 1/2 a pill every trip to the DR & it's worked for him every time. I have a malabsorption problem & I've never crushed any pills in my urine & my urine test come back fine. I went to the ER for a random drug test & tested positive for lyme disease & then was tested by a specialist & luckily it was a false positive!

I currently take hydrocodone 10mg-325 and oxycodone 5mg. My doctor said that my lab urine test came back showing something else in addition to these, but I am not sure what? I took a few 5mg hydrocodones and 3 of someone else's oxycodone 5mg/500 because I was out of town and forgot my prescriptions, would these show up as "something different" in my urine lab screen? Or maybe its one of those false positives? Please let me know if you have any info on this?
