Yes, if they are looking for it. I've taken many test and never should up Pos. on a test given by my employer or government. So if you only have sub in your systems I wouldn't worry, just drink a lot of water (it never hurts to be super hydrated). You'll be fine

Oilman, he is in the same state and was curious since yes, our local probation dept does test for it. It's no longer a special request when looking for it in some places. I don't understand why it's so hard to believe that others (employers and government etc) know about suboxone now...it's not everywhere but Joe is in the same state as me so two plus two adds up to the probable fact that the state probably pools from the same wholesale retailer and uses the same products, as in the new regular panel UA screens that include bupe results now.

Soooo if we all utilized this mass spectrum of information called Google and actually look at articles cited after 2009 (ahem...oilman) we would find out officially, even on Suboxones official support websites, government and probation websites that yes, here soon every adult offender program and every employer will be utilizing the new twelve panel urine analysis.

The state of Maryland has been testing for suboxone misuse for quite awhile now, and Suboxone support says since 2011 that a high majority of employers are now including it in their mandatory screening as well.

I've noticed a trend since responding to messages on these boards and it's kind of both laughable and appalling.
Most people only want their questions answered with what they want to hear, not legitimate facts or advice. My advice to oilman, unless you're working for an old school rig, like my husband, or are legally prescribed suboxone use, update here in several months or a year when you inevitably fail your test and lose, assuming, the only well paying job available to your level of intellect so I can say "told ya so".
Sounds catty but when I initially posted about being screened for this, how many come out of the woodwork acting like I hallucinated this and am just lying for no evident other reason then the heck of it.

Joe, I certainly hope you don't get screened and fail, but oilman he does have a very legitimate reason to be worried.

I will post several links to help educate the one determined not to educate himself....

Below is a quote from Maryland's Adult Offenders drug screening PDF file. They test and have for a number of years.

"The significant increase in positives remained for buprenorphine, but not for benzodiazepines, after we excluded the five sites which we over-sampled because of their higher buprenorphine positive rates in the 2005 Pilot Study. The considerable stability of the estimates of recent drug use for almost all of the other drugs studied in the two time periods, supports the potential use of the Adult OPUS methodology for tracking possible changes in drug use and availability across the states."

Below is another quote from Forensic Fluids Lab.

Apparently my other posts need reviewed before posting.

These are the most requested drugs from workplace, school, and probation testing. Drugs requested are: Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Tricyclic antidepressants, Methadone, Buprenorphine, Nicotine, and others.

Okay Joe, I found a partial, legitimate, answer to your question.

Cuyahoga county does definitely test for suboxone in their drug court, they are pretty adamant about it actually and seem to be doing the right thing by helping addicts gain access to sub treatment doctors, which can be pretty hard. But still no definitive response about their po dept exclusively. It stands to reason they probably do for countless opportunities.

Google the court's county and local district, look under their drug court info and you'll find PDF available for download, the information is there.

To further prove my point, the American Screening Corporation has testing strips that can be purchased for a little over three dollars on their webpage.

They are SAMSHA approved but always recommend more comprehensive lab testing to verify.

Just trying to prove the point that it's not an expensive, in-depth screen only available for physicians anymore.

Well I work for 1 of the biggest oil companies... I'm far from a Ruffneck! But I'm prescribed Subs so I won't fail anything... And again, if it's not a 13 panel and they are not looking for it your fine... So please be as sassy as you want to, I'm just stating what's going on in LA...

Licking County and Delaware County tests specifically for it also.

So I've spent the better half of my morning trying to prove myself, for whatever strange reasoning, to a few unappreciative individuals on the internet.

If you do the proper research, from reputable/official sources, took a lot of PDF downloads, you'll find that numerous boards have recommended, esp in Ohio, that Suboxone misuse is rising incredibly and that the mandatory testing of it is beneficial, although it is new, and testing for it easily is being integrated everywhere.

If they're not testing for it yet they will be soon. For example; I was the first test request for our local occupational clinic a year ago. Then awhile back I went to a review hearing, no test for it then just the standard results, then around three months later, another review hearing where I was tested for it, showed positive results and I had to prove to the court I was prescribed.

All this occurred within a year's time. It's becoming more well known since law enforcement officers, probation, ERs etc have seen and seized almost 225% more within two years time.

A LOT of information online and GOOD ADVICE if you take the time to look for it. Which is only proper to do if you're giving advice to others in serious situations where they need accurate facts not your personal, exception to the rule, experience.

Joe update us about Cuyahoga county's methods, if they started testing or not. Try to look at the cup if you can or even ask for an insert for your records so you can be sure. Ask if they will be continuing to use the same test product or not. This may sound brazen but you have the right to know, especially how credible the tests are, in case of a future dispute. Esp in the circumstances of a false positive.

Every testing website I've viewed today disclaims that the only credible analysis given is reviewed by a laboratory.

Chavezz, I would Google your information, local or otherwise and try to find out what they usually screen for.

Are you taking for a doctor, welfare, probation, drug court or something else? Although Suboxone screening is becoming more fluent, it still hasn't become that everywhere just yet. It all depends.

To find out, for example, if you're taking it for court, probation, drug court or the like, Google your county of residence, the local court jurisdiction you're in trouble with, and then what program your participating in.

My probation dept does now test for subs, I live in rural Ohio, after researching for Joe below, I found that most drug courts definitely do test for suboxone use. And the state of Maryland tests extensively for it.

If you have problems using search engines online, supply here what information you're comfortable saying and I can try to find out for you!

Hey Trish, weren't you on subs for pain?? I see A LOT of people discussing the pros and cons of using it for that, you should share your story on here, make a new post n help some others out :)
You were always sweet on here! Can you give me some info on how it worked for you, my neighbor takes methadone for her pain, extensive problems, and is thinking of weaning down to try Suboxone. Any advice? ? If you feel comfortable telling your story, you definitely should, the good and the bad, cuz it's becoming more common for chronic pain sufferers and your personal story might be close to others.

Wish I could get them subs through the computer screen, my here to help ran out, so now I pay out of pocket for doc n script again....one broke mama here lol.

If we don't hear back from you soon, try to update, good luck chic :)))

Ugh! Apparently no one is allowed to post contact information on here...it drives me insane. No matter what happens or life has in store you seem to have the willpower to see anything through!

Thanks for the kind words, don't hear, or read, those as much as we all deserve :)

They did not test for it in willoughby court in lake county where I reside. It was 5 panel with the basics. I pounded water hoping to dilute it enough to where id be able to dispute or at least re take n then took b12 to give my urine color and has the worst stomach ache and full bladder n then they didnt even test for it. He said something about it being clear too n I told him that I take creatine (which I actually do) for working out and its effectiveness is based off water consumption (draws water into ur muscles to make them fuller) which I normally drink at least a gallon a day... but I drank 2 gallons the 3 hours previous... its weird bc I have a friend who goes to mentor court (one city over, also in lake county) and he told me they absolutely test for it bc they told him he did and he had to have his sister bring is script to the courthouse or they were going to violate him, hes basically the reason I was so worried bc he said, dude I'm on probation in mentor n if they test for it then willoughby does also... but mentor is a bigger city with more resources id imagine and a bigger probation dept than willoughby... I think a lot of it boils down to funding... I think even if ur not prescribed n u were illegally addicted to opiates and are only taking suboxone you should recieve a pat on the back.

Hey everyone ok....so i live in Maryland and i applied for a job with a plastics/chemical company in South-Eastern Texas. I have been clean from all drugs for years now except for Subutecs. I have been prescribed subutecs for probably 4 years now and am 100% sure thats the only thing in my system. I have to take a drug test friday and this is my question....should i give them the letter from my doc saying I'm on it and risk not getting the job because of it or should i not tell them because I'm hearing that for the most part it doesn't show up. This job is operating heavy machinery and on my script it says "be careful when operating heavy machines" or whatever. If it didn't say that on the bottle or i didn't think that some ppl would think I'm a risk not needed to hire because I'm prescribed this drug then i wouldn't even tell them. My doc who in my opinion is not the brightest in certain aspects of life thinks i should tell them and hold nothing back but others think i shouldn't even bring it up because I've heard stories of ppl not getting jobs operating heavy machines because of it. SOOOOOOO should i tell em or take a chance and not tell em!!!??????? PLeaseeeeeeee help with some 2014 todays world information pleaseeeee!!! Thank you

PS: sorry for grammatical errors freaks :)

Uncle A, my opinion is dont say anything, if they find it, act completely shocked like you were for certain they knew considering the letter u have for the script "has been handed in with all applications and resumes" you have been doing and u think it must be there and ask them to recheck and if its not (u know it wont) then u will submit one without hesitation. Ask for a reprint of ur script paper work or bottle label from pharmacy. Sometimes the machinery label isnt there or u can take that sticker off. Just a couple suggestions. Let them know if they must end up seeing that label, it has to be put on if even 1 percent have ever had an issue but less than 5 percent even have and u can promise ur not in that percentage. Thats if they even ask about that warning label. Not an expert but i have been a recruiting officer and worked in HR. And thats what i would personally do. Anything else i can help with?

That's a kind of serious situation and I really don't want to give you advice either way because it can turn out a couple different ways.

My information with this is coming from working with CDL drivers and their warehouse forklift and machinery operators. I'm sure you're asking because you know that there's a reason it says 'do not operate heavy machinery' on your prescription bottle, and it's a good reason.

You will have other lives in your hands while performing your job duties, and one) if there is ever an accident down the road and you were found to have hidden your prescription from the hiring company, the company and you will be held liable and open to a lawsuit.
Two) most heavy machine or application for CDL positions DO test for bupe and any other narcotic, from my experience these drivers/workers are given the option to either completely stop using subs/opiates and even certain blood pressure/heart medicine or find a different job.

You know as well as I do, what it entails to lie on an application. Whether it's two weeks or ten years after hiring, if you're found out your in for losing ANY benefits you've earned, as well with any subsequent unemployment from your termination and could be held liable under law.

Be careful where your treading here, it's more consequential then just getting hired.
