IF U WANT TO FEEL BETTER USE CANNABIS. THERE I SAID IT. PAIN MEDS MAKE U DROWNED IN YOUR OWN MUCOUS. IF U LOVE YOUR LUNGS CANNABIS IS BETTER. FIGHT TO LEGALIZE IT.

This is for whoever wants to read it. Pain meds suck. They start u out with 5s then 10s and get sick of almost losing their license after two years they send u to a pain clinic and give u s@@@loads of Oxus Percy and muscle relaxers then they give out shots till your nerves are screwed up and suck your insurance dry. If u don't comply with everything in your contract they city u off.I quit. It's my body! F@@k those docs. For withdrawal they give high blood pressure pills

A pcp should be able to give you xanax. Mine does. I have ptsd from my accident. One rx of 30 .5s will last me 3-4 months that's how much I don't take it. I had documention showing that I suffer from the ptsd she just didn't take my word for it. Now if only I can find a pm doctor who will let me stay on the short acting meds (no law says. he can't, its just his preference)I've tried all the long acting meds they are way too strong for me.lortab 10/500 is the strongest I can take but it's short acting. Thankfully he gives me norco (they don't work as well las lortab but better than nothing) for break-through pain. So I just take those and not the oxys and fentanyl they keep giving me. But I still suffer half the day since my old dosage of lortab was 1-2 every 3-4 hrs not to exceed 7 in a day and he give me 4 norco for breakthrough. I'm in the detroit area.

I suffer from anxiety to where it almost paralyzes me . It doesn't happen all the time so I would prefer to not take something everyday . The drs. have put me on all kind of anti-depressants which don't agree with me . They make me act crazy and bi-polar . My family and friends as well as myself say I lose my memory when I take them .And I actually do .I'm not the same person and everyone agrees with me . My husband has even said that if I continue to take them he's leaving and my kids won't let me babysit my grandkids . In the past I was given Xanax which worked wonders since it isn't the depression that is my problem . I don't abuse it but I can't get anyone to give me the benefit of the doubt and let me try it . I've told them that if I start to use too much then I will stop or go into treatment . I just need help and fast and I don't know where to go . Please someone have faith in me and give me a chance before I do go crazy . Thanks for listening .

Many of you on this board, like me have had to deal with all the law changes that went into effect July, 1st. It is going to get worse, each state differs depending on the laws they have, my doctor told me that Washington state is one of the strictest states for pain meds. Here in Tennessee one of the new laws that will go into effect Jan. 1 is that you will need to explore alternative options before you can take narcotic pain meds, ironically these laws were passed by people who are into holistic treatment, acupuncture, acupressure and chiropractors, it seems like they want to get a cut of the money. You only need to do one alternative treatments then you can go on a narcotic pain regiment. I am exempt from this since I am grandfathered in, but any new patient into a pain clinic will have to try other treatments first. I know I am legal, I know that my only other option is an expensive back surgery which the three different specialists I have seen have all said I will have a 10% chance of correcting my problem, well one gave me a 15% chance and the other two 10%, and they all said it could in fact make it worse. So with no insurance because this is preexisting my only option is pain meds, unless I want to risk further injury or even paralysis. I guess maybe when Obamacare kicks in all my troubles will be gone, LOL... Yeah right! But until then we have little option except to play whatever games the legislators of our great state decide we need to do, we have to jump through all the hoops they lay in front of us. Being a combat veteran and now commander of my VFW post I am going to organize an advocacy group in my state. I know three mayors, two state congressman and two state Senators as well as many ex congress and governors and judges to help me try to pass new legislation to ease these restrictions. We have to start somewhere and the only way to change all this is in your state capitol. So now I begin my long, drawn out fight to try and change these laws, I don't know if I will succeed but I have to try..

Medicare Part D is national. They are following medicaid regarding certain meds.

"I've refused pain management after they cut me off and I'm reporting to the medical board." I'm sure your medical records state the reasons the dr cut you off. Have you gotten a copy of them.

No wonder why there is a heroine problem in the twin cities MN. The government(city, county, state, feds) are threatening the docs lic if they prescribe to much or to often. I know Minnesota now has a database that every time you get a controlled substance from a pharmacy it is entered into the database. The government has no right or need to know my medical information. the government is scaring the doctors into not prescribing the pills and forces people to find the pills off the street or turn to heroin which is cheaper and stronger than the pills. I had c4 and c5 fused together I also have a titanium plate in the back of my neck in the same location along with permanent nerve damage in the same area. My primary doctor was great until the DEA Checked his clinic And I was forced to go to a pain clinic. There was no charges or fines that came out of the check. I was referred to the Britton Center in St Paul which is a joke. They are so uncaring and treated me like a drug seeker despite all my medical records. For the first 4 months I had to go in every week and get tested. I don't mind getting tested but it makes it really hard going in every week with a family and job. Every visit took 3&a half to 4 hours out of the day. My wife also has lower back issues and is a surgical candidate and also goes to the Britton Center. But the neurosurgeon said she is too young to have the surgery. The britton center cut both of our medications in half, dosage and quantity. SHe continues to see them but I got sick and tired of the bulls*** and I am in the process of trying to find another doctor that is not afraid to prescribe controlled substances. The government needs to stop worrying about my medical issues and the doctor patient relationship and worry about people selling drugs and pills on the street.

I'm not familiar with "the new laws". Are they for your state or the nation. Is that why it is so hard to get through to a doctor to get a med that helps? I have never seen so much misery going unattended for the sake of the patient.
I've refused pain management after they cut me off and I'm reporting to the medical board. Trying detox was okay until I got from 80 mgs oxy to 30. Trying everything to get past that with some 5mgs, also not easy to get. I get paid this weekend and will get a mmj certificate. I'm tired of searching while in pain. Best to you.
