BL-saw primary for 1st time (since he new & temp for my regular primary who also is new)- we had never met so when he saw me he immediately wrote me month script but told me that all he allowed to do since he internist not pm. Then asked what drs. I had seen to replace my lost pm.dr. & said he would help me find new dr for pm. I was so elated that he seemed to be good primary dr but since then I found out he from Puerto Rico knows nobody here at all in US,not even laws really, so he says there is nothing he can do to help me. In other words his heart may be right place but he is useless for me. My survivor instinct says get new primary who CAN HELP ME. But same as with pm dr. I have no idea where to locate a good primary either with limited funds, wheelchair bound, in constant limiting pain-I NEED HELP from somewhere/body & soon. Have existed in pain taking only dose to keep me out of withdraws but still massive limiting pain which not only physically but mentally keeps me well below par function-wise. Feel like a kindergarten kid with brain-level while moan trying not to let pain load me to ground immobilized. idk what saying-need advocate who can think for me as well as help physically-mostly someone to think for me to find way out of this spiral into permanent vegetable of moans. Pls anyone with info good drs. in FL I feel word of mouth best referrals always but cannot get out or think enough how to find ppl with opinions so am here.
HELP,

Chris, you probably won't find a primary to handle your pain. You need to go to a pain Dr and stick with them, even they won't rx you anything for the first visits. The problem is no Dr is going to give you the meds you were taking in anywhere near that high a dose. You need to tell a Dr a do not expect that. You have z choice, you can either have nothing for your pain or you can make major lifestyle adjustments and manage with less meds. Also look into seeing a psychologist that deals with chronic pain patients. You are going to have to pay for any help you get from the stand point of help with activities if you don't qualify for Medicaid. You may also have to make lifestyle adjustments to be able to afford drs

What the primary meant was he couldn't do anything for you as far as your pain is concerned.

BL-You keep saying adjust to less meds-duh! I have that why cant function/think now really in trouble cuz am just laying. Gonna go withdraws with less...I could exist on 1/3 of dose was on which was half of what I was on for over 12yrs. So in other words dropped dose to 1/10th of my previous. Need 10x's present dose to function like I used to for 12 yrs. But willing to exist on 1/10th just so not actually die from stressed out organs. Sorry to be blunt but really no further adjustments can be made if pm drs. feel this dose too much after 15yrs of pain then I may as well not take anything & give up entirely living. Co To Fl I have emailed you-
Take care all-be as painfree as possible

I was seeing a pain dr for 10 years. l was on 250mcgh of fentanyl patches and 60mg of oxycodone, and on the day of my last appt to see him in April of 2007 the receptionist said he no longer is able to see patients and I thought what a load of s***. So l asked her so what am l to do now? It takes over a month to get in to see a pain dr. She said I'm sorry and good luck. Hmmm, so l called my insurance company explained it they gave me 3 referral's. l called the first one made an appt. Explained the entire situation to him he immediately took over my care and continued my regiment. Then after 6 years new laws and regulation plus the fact l had recently found out he was also treating my daughter for the last 2 1/2 years and then in april of 2012 she died. And when l asked the doctor about he said it was a shame and l point blank asked him if he had prescribed any medication for he looked at me and said no none. Then when the detective calls and tells me that Dr. Bloch in hilliard ohio had in fact been prescribing 12 different medications to her. l said what a f***ing liar, the pharmacy reports sure didn't so l thought to myself if l see this sucker one more time l would f***ing kill him with my bare hands. So on January 17th of this year l stopped seeing him. At first l knew it was the right thing to do and as time went on maybe l was not so sure. l had to see 3 pain specialists and all 3 were afraid of the state of ohio to prescribe anything regardless of what l was on. After almost 16 years of having somewhat of a normal life the state says f***ing suffer to everyone and tie the hands of every doctor in ohio. So to make a long story short if you suffer chronic debilitating pain on a daily basis and need pain meds to function you have one of to choices - 1st you can move to another state or country like Canada or you can order your med via mail order but you did not hear it from me.

Shame it's all seeming the same. No matter wat you do or who you go see. Sorry. Chris your having these problems. As so many others. To have to think about moving to be able to maybe find a doc to help you live!! More and more are having to go to web sites which can be bad or good.. Sad to say we have to try. Take care. I wish everyone could get the true help they needed!! More doctors like a few posted last yr. that fight for patients rights. Califorina I think, would have to go way back on the posts. I forgot his name, some might remember.

We build up a tolerance to pain meds. After. Being completely off them or adjusting to a lower dose we can manage. You will need to adjust your lifestyle. But when the choice is being able to do a few things as oppossed to nothing, the adjustments are worth it for most people.

You may not like or agree with what I say. But, with all the drs you've been to and they all say "no" what you're doing isn't going to get you pain management.

You are right about pain management doctors being the way to go, but when a person doesn't have ins you can't go now can you unless you have the money for it. My husband has one more year to get ins from disability in the meanwhile he has to take one methadone a day until the doctor decides he doesn't want to continue to give him methadone or anything else for pain either, but what is a person to do but get off that nasty drug and give him some Tylenol 3. It will do but that's not going to happen, but thanks for listening to me. Everybody needs to vent. We will figure it out. Crockette

Comments-the worst is when you are left w/out meds suddenly so have no way to keep your functioning level plus more than likely unable find dr. then go into withdraws. This is my current state (approaching zero meds-no dr). I didn't think there were true meds available online-do you know some secret?
Am very happy for you-sounds like you have a very rough situation deal with.& have done so.
Wish me luck-clinics are being slashed by gov. now reducing all available pm drs. here in FL. One county was reduced from 60 clinics to 25. There are simply not enough pm drs. to go around-gov. claims all done in ending abuse-BUT WHAT ABOUT PAIN PATIENTS BEING LEFT OUT??!! I don't know if possible for new patient to be treated here at all any longer.

The 2 years I had to live without pain meds I ordered soma online back when I wasn't a controlled substance. So I managed to live without Norco and oxy 30 that id been on for 5 years. After 10 Dr spots I gave up. Well I did biofeedback and chiropractic care ( still do chiropractic care) so i knew I had to move . And I did over 1400 miles aww to a bigger city in a different state. At this point I travel an hour there a x hour back to my Dr. I'm in Fl. If you need a Pm clinic I have given all the info that I can. I think if I had to drive across the state I would every month and just deal with the drive until I found someone closer. The person from Lakeland looking Genesis in Tampa will help you if you meet their requirements. Clean u / a recent MRI, xray ,cat scans . Ppl come from Crystal River and even Sebring
. I doubt folks would drive that far monthly *** for nothing or for some Injections. I've been at the office and more than one time and ppl come from Crystal, River Sarasota, st. Petersburg. And usually u get an appointment within a week. It called Genesis and its in Tampa Fl

You could at one time order tramadol (which will keep u out of withdrawal, but if u keep taking them you can have withdrawal without them) you could also take soma. But then around 2012 soma became controlled, then later tramadol reclassified.. So I dont know of any narcotic meds or put it this way. I'm not going to jail nor am I going to trust that I'm really getting what I ordered.

There were a few legitimate places who would get ur records, take payment, and they were like the receptionist and set u up with a real doctor that is closest to you. The most they will prescribe is hydrocodone/norco, but it was a start. It was legal. Basically once or twice a year u see the Dr face to face, the other months you get a check up phone call, the Dr would call in your medicine. There was a fee for the call though.

So it was called EclinicMd.....no longer able to operate I guess with the law changing hydrocodones class. There is a service that's similar, and idk if it's legitimate, but the concept is you pay 25.00 a month, for a membership to get Dr.s locations'.. I dont think they make the appt though..im not sure, but if I was in a bind, id risk the 25 bucks to see how it works. I'd make sure its legal. I used eclinicmd for a yr. Then the Dr they set me up with ended up opening a pain clinic. She had a weight loss and family care clinic, she was legit, she made trips out of the country on business, she was owner of all the clinics, over seeing them.. I don't know of any legitimate legal online options.

Still fall in Obama care gap need to find a pain management doctor in Northwest Louisiana that won't cost an arm n leg making me repeat MRI s, cat scans, eeg's ,sleep studies and lab work that has been done for 24yrs having positively diagnosed chronic migraine then fall in 1999 breaking coccyx and injuring L3&L4 in spine.I have done multiple rounds of physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, concentration therapy, herbal remedies, and chronicled daily while on a regimen of five different non narcotic medications total of nine a day which make me a walking zombie! For 8years have had my gp giving pain meds n as few meds as can function daily since lost good insurance and actually had my last neurology doc tell me migraines are not real and spine specialist inform me it was suffer, surgery,or meds. Of course feds think everyone drug addicts but offer no real help especially financial. I am still paying off $204k in medical bill from my husband terminal illness for four yrs. That was our part after insurance! Of course I could and still cannot afford to start all over on myself. Does anyone know of pm doctors in northwest Louisiana?! Please I'm about past desperate!!

I will tell you all I have a group and they are active, going to meetings writing letters. Not myself, but this group is inviting members to protest in front of a local DEA office. Many in the group including myself are scared of retaliation. I declined the offer and asked what are other things you can do. There is a person in every county appointed for these problems we are having. I ask of all of you, what are you doing? Letters need to overflow, emails need to be written. Do nothing: Get nothing.

Yes I concur BL, it is illegal to get a rx from a Dr without F2F every 3 month now in 2015. However in Co 2012-2013 a Dr. Can call in hydrocodone for a patient and ink had to had a F 2 F once every 12 months. This was a blessing for ppl who lived further aww from Denver, they only had to see thr Dr once yearly, they only had to drive from wherever. I believe at that Time too that rx's could be written for a bordering state like Wyoming. But this Dr. Check the Pdmp at that time. Plus you had to have a current check up / physical. So for ppl that had docs that wouldn't prescribe and need hydrocodone. That was it. Pretty cool set up. I was able to go to my docs clinics that took my insurance rx d meds. Also facet inj's. work so good, but very short lived. But this service of Ecmd and E clinic....gone r those days for people who just need and can get by on norco/hydrocone.
