Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 250)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

You and I have a big problem! I am on similar meds. I am on 30mg oxy × 6 a day plus morphine. All doctors are cutting people off due to the DEA forcing protocols and vowing to put these doctors out of biz! This is rampant, people with real pain issues suffer. I plan to rally at DEA office in Denver. NEED PEOPLE TO JOIN IN.

I am just curious? If you don't mind how many years of opiate use to get to that level?

I know myself after 8 years the amounts can get quite high. But I see you use a lot of other medication non opiate.

Do you have to go to a pain clinic for that amount? Or is that just a family Doc?

Curious as I am new to the USA prescribing guidelines. As I am Canadian. And moving to the USA. So its quite a worry. I wish I could say to people, if you needed to move and you are type 1 diabetic and could not get insulin, would you be concerned?

Any information would be great. It looks like you have one of the best Dr's I have seen by the medications you take. I imagine you have done more blood, urine and every other evaluation their is more times then you can count.

Christopher im wondering if there is a petition we can start to gov. Hickenlooper to let physicians decide dosages not the FDA, CDC, DEA are making decisions and they do not have adequate medical training.
Also i heard its even better to call. i will try and get the phone numbers And emails, but we all need to be active. i know were in pain but emails, phone calls and petitions can be signed.

Folks we can sit here and complain but its ok cuz we help one another. please sign these petitions and when i get the correct info we need to call email these folks everyday.

IDK, my days are marked and I'm cutting my meds in half. I wish someone would say if we can get info on the doc that accepts medicade. I'm so worried. I don't want to withdrawal. I'm scared. I don't want to live like this. I just don't want to go on no more. Sorry this pain i have is too much. I'm so depressed I could just do it. I don't want to live with this pain. Please help me.

CPR has been up and running for 2 months, going on 3. Dr. Frisbee is there, but other doctors are seeing patients and he is available for consultation. You will be treated fairly and quickly at Colorado Pain Relief. The coward that started all this trouble should be ashamed of himself!

I too have had a pill count. and my medication was changed, but they are doing the best they can at this point and time. I am so sorry if you are in pain.

I'm sorry but to let you all know my mom's fate, she tried to kill herself last night. She's in an induced coma because of overdosing not on pain meds, but sleeping pills. Her doc just up and left her. So I urge anyone who going thru this to get help. My mom always was in pain. Her new doctor never listened. My mom now has a stomach ulcer due to 190 percocet and he would only give her that and a small dose of oxy 5 mgs. My mom stayed in bed for months. It's sad. People whom abuse this are not ok but my mom will be ok from what the doc said. Thanks for reading. Is there a doc i can look up so she can see someone after her stay from the hospital? Please respond. I don't want my mom trying to kill herself. If i would've been 10 min late my mom would have never made it but thank u all for your help.

Cecei6 - I can help refer a dr that even accepts medicaid. I hope your mom is in a better state than she was feeling. Hope for a speedy recovery....

123diy, yes her doc at denver health just walked out. She's been in pain. It sucks. My mommy just needs a great doctor. Plz don't hesitate to write me back. I'll get her the info. She's ok now. I'm blessed to have my mom. I'm just stressed out. She's never tried this in her life but to live and just look out the window. Plz give me the information. I'll go give it to her in the morning. Hope she'll be home Christmas day if she had bowel movements and keeps food down. Thanks lots 123Diy. It's a blessing. I'm truly blessed someone took 5 minutes to respond. (tearsofjoy).
