Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 146)
UpdatedI have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!
Janey, I was offered it before. My sister tried to commit suicide with my mom's rx of amytriptoline. Somehow she lived, but it scared me to even think of using it. I will research it and see. My reason is silly and treatments are few and far between now. Thanks for the suggestion!
I never heard that Very Chatty and I've taken Melatonin with amitriptyline and well as Wellbutrin. It may be specific anti-depressants like SSRI's
I must say that any one thinking of or are already taking amytriptoline should really think it over and do research on this drug. I had it prescribed to help me sleep,This drug mixed with other drugs can be. fatal. These new drugs that some people in a lab are making out of, who knows what they are using to make them, It's down right scary. So many of these new drugs have side effects that are worse than what is wrong with you. So be careful taking these as well as other man made drugs, the only safe ones are the ones that come from some plants or others that are not made in a lab. Then they have the nerve to charge a small fortune to buy them. There's just to many drugs being made and the companies are getting richer by the day, and we are still in pain, they have pain meds that would help us, but the Des, government wont allow us to have the cheaper drugs or the would lose all their money. Some pain meds cost a lot while the ones that come from plants are very cheap. I would rather be dependent on pain meds, than to pay a small fortune for the pain meds being made in a lab and all the side effect that they can cause. Good luck to you all and God bless you!!
I asked my current dr about trying Nucynta... He said NO WAY. He said that it hasn't been on the market long enough to REALLY know the side effects. He said they will only use tried and true drugs... It makes me appreciate him even more!
As far as getting a doctor to prescribe the medicine you need, it is going to be hard. You have to be referred to a pain clinic which could be over a months wait, and then an evaluation by the pain clinic with a U/A before they will even prescribe you anything which is another week.
I grew up in Nc riding bulls, raced motocross for two years, football, and boxed and I was finally injured in a car wreck which destroyed my back. I'm 23, no doctor will operate on me to remove my L3-L4 disc, I have a 2 year old daughter I can hardly play with half the time because of the pain. I've been through 32 doctors in 3 different states 15 physical therapists, acupuncture, ext... looking for a way to fix it because I don't want to live my life on pain medicine, I want to get back to the life style I grew up on.
I was finally told by Dr. Depalma at Stoney Point Prkwy, Virginia that they are conducting Stem Cell trails in the spine for exactly what you have. The only other place that does this happens to be in Colorado. I'm telling you, that is going to be your best chance at getting real permanent relief for your back. It's worth looking into.
U are absolutely right! This medication not taken properly can b dangerous and so r many over the counter drugs and anyone who takes it should b monitored closely by their doc as well as look at what else they r taking! It's just had a long term history of being very effective for chronic pain! Fentenyl patches can b deadly in combination with even a heating pad! Anyone taking medications of any type should b educated on its side effects or issues! Tylenol can b deadly to your liver and is often used to "fake" suicide! Unfortunately too few know that an overdose of Tylenol is far more deadly than most of the meds we r on! Anyone taking medications should educate themselves and I even keep a page bookmarked so I can check meds prior to leaving the doc's office to make sure there r no issues! I appreciate you pointing this issue up as it reminds all of us that doc's r human and make mistakes as well as we have a responsibility to ourselves to make sure we r safe! Take a few minutes and read up! Thank u again F100! Good reminder to all!
JetMech, I understand what u r saying and I'm not sure u understand what I am! These days, it seems to me many people don't remember that others may have issues u don't know about or things that happened! We have forgotten to remember to walk in another's shoes for a day before we judge! I'm not talking just to u but everyone! The apology isn't saying u r wrong but to say that u r sorry that they misunderstood what u were trying to say and how would u feel if u felt u were being attacked! I won't harp and have gotten off my soap box on this issue and feel everyone needs to b thoughtful of others! It may not b how u choose to live your life but it's how I live mine and have never gotten bitten in the butt for being thoughtful! I want u to stay in this group as I feel u do have much to offer but they aren't going to listen if this negativity continues! Be the bigger person, do the right thing, u maybe surprised! It feels good! When your life is filled with pain wouldn't it feel good to make someone else's day? U maybe surprised and find it feels good! Play it forward my friend! U may need us sometime! Just food for thought!
im 44 year old male was going to pain management for well over a decade. Had xrays mri physical therapy trigger point injections etc.etc. because of a few bad apples in a bushel (scumbag people who sell there medications now people who are really in need can no longer obtain medical help) drs all over our country are being forced to close down We are paying for other peoples sins. Suicide is the only option now. My life is over because of their antics. I hope after i end my life i will haunt everyone of them in my afterlife. thanks for in other words taking my life. good bye.
hi, can I have the info on your dr or his practice? I'll keep it confidential. I've just been battling nerve damage pain since I had a baby and would like to see a Doctor who will consider all options. thanks
Many of us go to Colorado Pain Management, Colorado Rehab has offices all over town, Mapleton in Boulder and Dr Navarkal in Cherry Creek area! The other guys may have someone who deals specifically with your problem but these r a start! Keep in touch!

Janey girl, does CPR take medicaid and do u go 2 CPR? if u dnt feel comfortable tellin me then thats ok, I was just lookin 2 ask a question. thanks
Teep! I'm 44, too. I completely understand what you are saying... But truly, committing suicide lets those a**hole dr's win.
Please, please let us know you are okay. We are here to help and support. Sending you a hug and a prayer.
Response under review.... OMG my gosh. I really, really hope he is okay. We all have those low points...,
MODERATORS... Surely there is protocol for this???!!!
Yes I have tried neurotin before didnt seem \to help me though.
Rainbow, You did a wonderful thing with Teep! I'm praying he/ she contacts us! Yes! I do go to CPR! I've been there about two years and yes, they have had a few issues, I don't know many pain problems that haven't but they really have been responsive to patient complaints and have a great group in there now! I refer many of my clients to pain programs and I didn't want to use someone who I refer to! What's funny is I now refer many to their program! Their whole staff is well educated and responsive to their patient's needs! I heard that they were applying for medicaid but I don't know if this is just for their suboxone program or the whole program! I just submitted my bills to medicaid and will let u know if they end up covering any of these bills! I'll also ask what the deal with medicaid is with them! I know that they realize many of their patient's r on medicaid and find the cost an issue but I'll ask what the deal is with them and let u know!
Janey, its Wendy. I need to talk to lucy, has anyone seen her?
