Amitriptyline And/or Tramadol? (Top voted first)

Updated

Need deep sleep! How much of this stuff would I need to take to knock me out for the count and make me oblivious to anything, without it having too negative effect on me. Want to sleep like I've never slept before, without no interruptions.

Wow! Sounds to me like you're really tired! I have taken both of these meds, and neither one has made me even the least bit sleepy. Tramadol has a very specific max of dosage, so I highly suggest you don't overtake any it or any other medication!! Have you tried melatonin? I am a very light sleeper but melatonin did the trick for me.

It's definitely not safe to try to do it with prescription medications, such as these and you're not going to pull it off without suffering any negative consequences.

I agree with hedda1227, you should give Melatonin a try.

Learn more Melatonin details here.

It's been proven effective for most people in as little as 3mgs and can be taken in doses up to 5mgs nightly.

I suffer from insomnia pretty regularly, which worsened with the onset of perimenopause, but suffered residual side effects from trying regular sleep medications, such as Ambien.

I've finally found a cessation of the issue for the most part by taking 5mgs of Melatonin about an hour to an hour and a half before bed time.

However, if you have any medical conditions and are taking those prescription medications, then please double check the safety of taking it, before you do so.

Are there any other comments or questions?

Have you considered an over the counter product that contains Diphenhydramine?

Been on citilopram for 9 years. Just weaned myself off 6 months ago. I'm still anxious but had bouts of bad deppression. I got diagnosed with underactive thyroid jan 2015. I took levo for 7 months then went onto NDT thyroid. I havent a clue whats in it but my tsh is coming out fine on 2 grains a day. I've had 3 water infections though stinging badly, pain in kidneys or lumbar area. Been on many antiboitocs. I still sufferred for the past 3 years extreme weakness in joints, back, falling alseep, forgetfullness, & doopey. I told my doc even though i got my illnesses, anxiety, ocd, ptsd, thyroid, anemia and moderate sleep apnea, something else is killing my body. I have no energy at all. I said i think ive got chronic fatiuge. She said that doesn't come with pain, only fibromaliga. So basicailly it took a long time to get referred. The specialist said i got many symptoms but she wanted to rule out some stuff so did blood work, foot & hands xrays on friday August 26th and said she would write to my gp to start treatment of amitriptyline 10mg. So i went to gp today to get perscription as that specialist said it sounded like i had fibro and gave me a hand out booklet, and ive got every symptom of it. But now im so scared to swallow an amitriptyline tablet. I dont wana get more agitated or suicidal or anxious. Plus im meant to be going back on levothyroxine. Plz help. I'm not sure what to do but hate the muscle weakness, insomnia, deppression and anxiety im living with now.

Well I was on 200mg amitriptyline and 400mg tramadol and I would get at least 10 hours of knock-out sleep time.
