I've been taking tizanadine /zanaflex for 10 years at 36 mgs per day. That's the max dose allowed. I had daily migraines for 3 years along with spine and neck djd and insomnia. It helps with all of this. I lost my pcp a couple of months ago and do not want get get off of this medication. It allows me to live without pain and function. My new pcp wants me off and when I cut down, I have horrible panic attacks and severe high blood pressure. Any suggestions? I have to find a new pcp but don't want to dr hop. I also have to function daily. I also live with severe anxiety and panic attacks and my psychiatrist has me on Xanax. Tapering down from zanaflex causes major anxiety. My 11 year old accindentley took a 4 mg zanaflex she weighs. 111 pounds what should I do ## Did she experience any adverse effects? This is a muscle relaxant and the FDA warns that an overdose of it may cause shallow breathing, lowered heart rate, low blood pressure, extreme dizziness, and extreme drowsiness. I've been on muscle relaxers for about 7 years, due to a neck fracture injury ending in a surgut oval nonfusion. I have chaotic pain that my pain Doctor treats with 10/325 Hyrdroco/APAP. Limit of six per day. Some days I take the maximum some days I don't depending on my activities. He substitutes my hydrocodone done with Baclofen 10 mg. his prescription says take one to two tablets by mouth three times daily as needed for muscle spasms. I rarely ever take the maximum dose. We first started out with Flexeril that worked for a little while but I needed something more. I was having severe muscle spasm's that felt like my muscles in my shoulderswere drawing up into my ears. This caused excruciating headaches. I am a 48 year old woman with fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis. At bedtime I take Zanaflex 4 MG, Tramadol 50 MG and several other meds that don’t concern me as they’re not things that would affect my heart or breathing. When I took my meds tonight I noticed that I forgot to take my noon meds so I took those as well, forgetting that I had put a 10 MG Flexeril in with them because I was having bad muscle spasms this morning. I know I shouldn’t have taken all of this together. I called poison control and he didn’t seem concerned. I'm on several medications like LYRICA 150 mg 3x daily. ZANAFLEX 4mg 2tabs at night. Amitriptyline 175mg suppose to be bedtime but i take maybe 6/7 because of the other meds at bedtime, Tramadol 50 mg 2tabs 4x daily. Adderral 5mg. Xanax 1mg 1tab as needed but the way the office wrote it was once a day. Topirmate 50mg 1tab 2x daily. I've been on 15 mg morphine ER every 12 hours for nine months (for pain from thorcotomy/lobectomy for lung cancer). My pain mgmt dr changed it to morphine 15 mg immed release (I didn't realize til I got the rx filled a week later.) None of my other meds have changed (percocet 10-325 mg 4x day, gabapentin 600 mg 3x day, 2 mg zanaflex every night). I would love to stop taking all these drugs but still have significant pain and two young children to care for all day. I told my dr that I'd really love to stop the morphine at least and he said we would just drop it and replace it with more percocet. I Have RSD - and a lot of other health problem's ! I was on loratab 10/500 until today and was told by my pharmacy that they don't give them out anymore so doctor was called and put me on hydrocodone 10/325 ! I've been on oxycontin 80s for yrs. A new pain mgmt doctor says I'm taking too much and has also refused to prescribe ativan 1mg 2 per day. I have been on a rollercoaster ride with meds being changed. I was given Zanaflex and Topamaze. Will these meds help me? Oxycontin dropped from 160mg 2xday, to 1 tab 3xday, no anxiety meds. Anyone use this for chronic pain? How is it compared to meperidine (demerol)? I used to use an electric wheelchair. Nerves pinching off in neck etc. hands drew up.. Through faith & devotion to God (daily) & finding good Doctors (myopractors, accupuncturists, some kinesiologists& chiros) using Zanaflex for spasms & demerol (mild dosage) for pain I am making tremendous strides & there is no crazy high feeling.
