Different Adderall Generic Drugs

I was taking adderall 10 mg by mouth 3 times a day. Manufactured by Teva. I can't find it at local pharmacy. Anyone know how I can get my medication? ## Hi Shery, I went onto Teva's manufacturer webpage and found a photo of their 10mg Adderall pill (just scroll down a bit): I'm thinking you can simply email the company (using the contact link on their website) and ask them about the pill's availability in your area. Generally, if it is not available, the pharmacy can have it shipped there for your prescription or they can provide you with a different brand/generic of the same drug. How does everyone find the Extended Release (XR, ER) version of Adderall to work when compared to the Immediate Release (IR)? ## Adderall XR, maybe I got a bad generic but it's crap, it does not reveal in your system. I hate all XR meds they are awful. My doctor put me on reg Adderall and the quality is night and day, reg last 4 hours that's okay. I take another one, and get the same quality. The xr is weak and seems to last a shorter time than the IR. Everybody is different I know, and I'm no doctor, so take what your prescribed, and please do not abuse drugs, take it like its prescribed. It works trust me. I am new to the Denver area and I need to fill my script for Teva Adderall 30mg peach ovals, not the pink ones that give you a headache and the deleriums:( Any ideas? I live near Cheeseman Park. ## Hi Sasha, According to the FDA's website there aren't any current drug shortages listed for Adderall or its generic alternative. However, if you do know of a potential drug shortage you can always email the FDA at [email protected] to report any possible latent or ongoing shortage issues. I don't know how immediately any of these types of problems get resolved, but you might have to try a few different pharmacies in the meantime until you find one that has it in stock. I was recently diagnosed with Adult ADD and have been prescribed Amphetamine Salts (Generic for Adderall) for a few months now. The initial dosage was one 10mg tablet/ three times a day and recently my Doctor upped the dosage to one 30mg tablet/ twice a day. I know that overall this has been very beneficial for me but I cant help but wonder if the generic brand (IR Amphetamine Salts) has less of the active ingredient, and more unnecessary side effects(irritability, fatigue). I know that while the active ingredients are likely to be the same, the "fillers" usually are not and even the active ingredients can vary up to 10%. Is there a difference between the to types of drugs? My doctor changed them and I wonder why this was done I'm now on the combo? ## Hello, Susan! How are you? No, they are the same thing, just a different way of writing it, but both are generics for Adderall. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, nervousness and insomnia.
