Clonidine And Sleep Meds

I have recently been put on this drug for sleeping and well its not working at all. I have been taking one at night before bedtime which is what I was told but is it safe to take 2 since im not getting any rest with the 1? ## Also I failed to mention in last comment they are 0.2 mg ## I would recommend trying 1 1/2 first take it no more than 15 mins before bed it works fast. But if u take it 1hour or 30 mins before bed you can kind of simulate yourself into it not working then it loses its effect. Once the groggy effect wears off before your in bed most likely you will not fall asleep well. ## I would also call your doctor to let he/she know it's not working because if you increase your dose without say so to the doctor they will not be happy and you will run out of meds early. My daughter has been on clonidine for approx 10yrs...she is 17 now. Lately she has had several issues with extremely low bp that she has been hospitalized for...they now keep asking us if she is taking extra meds to cause this..we have her meds they are regulated very well and we only get 30 a month and the right amount is still in there...I'm wondering after all these years of taking it could she suddenly start having all these side effects. Hi everyone. My 14 year old daughter has been on topamax (25 mg twice daily) for a number of years. She is being treated for anxiety, depression, mood disorder, tics, ADHD and has recently added social phobias to her list of complaints. The meds being used to treat her are Risperodone for the mood, Clonidine for the tics, Prozac for the depression/anxiety, and Topamax to control weight gain that occurs with Risperodone (and possibly to help with anxiety/tics). Well, My son has ADHD and a little depression, His doc perscibed this drug. Im a mother whos been in the medical field and research everything.; Colonindine help my son sleep at nite, it calm him down around bedtime, before this he could stay awake for days at a time!! Also he was 7-8yrs old Now hes 10 and no longer on the med... as the next 2 yrs passed i slowing begin to take him off and he's sleeping and not dealing with depression. I put my hubby on it for Blood Pressure and its working... This stuff is impossible to find yet there are much stronger meds available. This is great for uncomfortable muscle spasms say if you're weaning off opiates - the belladonna at health food stores is not the same obviously. Donnatal is great for that too. Anyway, closest thing I've found is bentyl but it's not as helpful for all over discomfort - just stomach trouble when weaning - cold turkey you'll want clonidine too (aka catpres), something to allow you to sleep (God knows you can't sleep getting off stuff) - the more you sleep, the more time passes - but you can't sleep when you're stomach is A MESS, pains etc. And the all over body crawly antsy - can't explain unless you've been through - it'll make someone crazy!
