do ursocol can dissolve gall stone. how long period required to dissolve it. ## Ursodiol has successfully done this for some patients, however, I do not know how long it needs to be taken. I'm a late riser so would it hurt to take 2 at once? ## I know this is a late answer, but there may be other people that require the same information. So... I really have to say no, it isn't advisable to double up on any medication, unless your doctor has said it's okay to do so. The reason for it is because most medications work best by having a constant, regular level maintained in the body and that usually requires separate doses. The best thing anyone could actually do in this situation is to reschedule the times you take them, so you do it when you're awake and can fit in all 3. I did however locate the active ingredient which is Ursodeoxycholic Acid. Ursodeoxycholic Acid is listed to be in the US product Ursodiol. Ursodiol helps regulate cholesterol by reducing the rate at which the intestine absorbs cholesterol molecules while breaking up micelles containing cholesterol. I have undergone an ERCP operation inflated method of stone removal from my bile duct on the 4th jan 2013,there were many small stones which have been cleared out in full by the resident doctor ,but he has advoised me to take URSOCOL 150 or 300 mg twice daily ,and advised me to plan pregnancy,and by now I am 5 weeks pregnant,should I continue it? or will it destroy the fetal development,,am worried ,,please reply

i am 35 weeks preganant and i have extreme itching problem. my syrum bile acid are beyond the limit and very high. doctor prescribed me Urcocol SR 450mg. is it safe for me. ## This contains Ursodeoxycholic Acid and, while it hasn't actually been studied and approved for use in pregnancy, it has so far been shown to be the only medication to successfully treat this type of condition and fetal damage hasn't been known to occur. i am getting itching after taking please say equivalent of ursocol300 tablet ## Ursocol contains the active ingredient Ursodeoxycholic Acid, it most commonly used to treat Liver conditions. That said, if you are having an allergic reaction, it isn't an equivalent medication that you want, but something from a different class that treats the same conditions. Have you reported the problem to your doctor and discussed it with them? this site is not medical professionals, so we can't prescribe you anything different. Other medications used to treat these types of conditions can include; Proessen, Actibile, LIV-52, Livasa and Livomyn.

i am suffering from hepatitis a which is drug infused, i have been taking ursocol 300 from last 11 days but from last 2 days after having the ursocol 300 i am having short of breath what should i do? ## Ursocol contains the active ingredient Ursodeoxycholic Acid. That sounds like it can be a side effect from the medication. Have you discussed this with your doctor yet? He/She should be one of the first people to know about this. Aside from speaking with your doctor, would you say that your diet is sufficient in vitamins and minerals? This could also be caused from lack of certain nutrients. I am tuberculosis patient(lymph node),and I am taking drug of TB (Rcinex E) for 6 months and I have also gall stone problem(primary stage). Doctor has prescribed to take ursocol 300 mg twice daily. So, taking ursocol and tuberculosis drug simultaneously can create any problem/have any interaction between them. My another question is that we can take antacid with these two above mentioned drug

I have multiple gallstones and suffered from a gall bladder attack almost 3 years ago. I have been avoiding getting my gall bladder out. I have been taking Ursodiol for almost 3 years and have not had a gall bladder attack. I just had a scan done on my gall bladder and it is unchanged from 3 years ago and my Dr. reccommends taking it out. While the scan was being done on my gallbladder they also scanned my liver which showed fatty infiltration. My good cholestral was high, but my blood work was normal. My Dr. told me not to drink for 3 months and we will check the liver again.
