If I miss one scheduled dose, which is every 12hours, by 3 or 4 hours, take a dose.. Then slowly get back to schedule. Is that ok, or should I skip it altogether? ## Hello, John! How are you? Generally, you should take the missed dose, as soon as you remember and only skip it, if it's close to the time for your next dose. Otherwise, you take it and then get yourself back on schedule, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. However, with such a medication, it would be best to take all doses on time. Do you have a smart phone? If so, there are many free reminder apps that you can download that will remind you when it's time to take your medication. I use one on my iPhone all the time. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness...

My usual dose of tikosyn is 3 0.125 capsules every 12 hours. By mistake I took 5 capsules instead of three. What should I do? ## @cnf, If this had happened to me I probably would've called my doctor and the American Association of Poison Control Centers, who can be reached 24/7 at: 1 (800) 222-1222. This extra step may not be necessary depending on your body's response/tolerance to the drug, but I'd prefer to be on the safe side when it comes to an overdose on any prescription drug, especially an anti-arrhythmic agent like this that works directly on the heart. I hope everything turned out to be fine since you last posted here.

Which cough syrups can you safely take with Tikosyn? ## Did you have a few specific products in mind? It would help to know for the sake of being able to cross check ingredients. For example, Nyquil contains Acetaminophen, Chlorpheniramine, and Dextromethorphan - none of those ingredients appear to interact with Tikosyn [1]. Please share the name of the cough syrup that you prefer to take.

Unfortunately, there are far too many antibiotics on the market for me to be able to check them all for interactions with the Tikosyn. Have you consulted your doctor? Can I take phentermine while also taking Tikosyn at the same time? Are there side effects in doing this? ## Hello, Saundra! How are you? No, if you have a heart problem, such as an arrhythmia, it most likely isn't safe for you to take Phentermine, because it's a stimulant that can affect heart rate and blood pressure. It's proven to be very dangerous for some people with undiscovered cardiovascular issues. Did your doctor prescribe it?

Do I alter the times at all when the clocks fall back during daylight savings? ## For daylight saving do I take my tikosyn an hour earlier ## Unless your doctor, or pharmacist instructs otherwise, you can adjust your dosing times accordingly. What atiovbiotics are safe to use with Tikyson? ## Hi Sue, From what I could gather, there are certain macrolide antibiotics and certain quinolone antibiotics that interact with Tikosyn (Dofetilide); however the prescribing label for this medication does not mention which antibiotics fall into these two categories and which one's don't. In this case, if you are looking into using a specific antibiotic, your doctor should know based on your medical records that certain one's may interact with your current medication(s). I would however suggest reminding him/her of this possible interaction just to play it safe when you are being prescribed something. I hope this advice helps!

I have been taking Multaq for almost 5 months. Yes it helps, maybe to much, I am exhausted it keeps me so low and irregular, I don't have the energy to do anything much. I work full time but I can't wait to drag myself home and crash. I have gained almost 23 pounds since and am very depressed. I am not sure what caused which first. I have exhausted all meds. I was on Tikosyn for 7 years, but my income exceeded the limit for the patient assist program, and 600.00 a month is a bit to much for me. I am on the medication program for Multaq, the income level is set higher so I qualify. But I don't like how it makes me feel, I was hoping someone else had some info. as to how it reacted for them. Thanks ## Multaq contains the active ingredient Dronedarone, it is mainly used to trea...

I am taking Cartia xt 120mg, but now the doctor added Digoxin and after a 1/2 hour I started with PVCs. Could there be interactions between these 2 drugs? ## Hello, Moni! How are you? It's possible, they both tend to increase the efficacy of each other. Are you having PVC's or just palpitations? Have you informed your doctor? Other possible side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, increased urination and hypotension. ## Can you take Digoxin and Tikosyn with the herbal supplement called DGL? ## The .125 mg dosage of digoxin (5 days a week) causes breast enlargement and pain. With Metformin, these can include: nausea, flatulence, low blood sugar and sun sensitivity. Duxet contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, an SNRI antidepressant. Side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and seratonin syndrome.
