My father recently passed away pretty unexpectedly. Nothing was wrong with the man, except that he had beginning stage Parkinsons. He was on Requip for it since last May. It controlled his shakes, but he developed Interstitial Lung Disease from the drug. The disease is listed as a side effect, but I had to DIG for that info. No doctor told him anything about all the other things that could go wrong. WE BLAME REQUIP. And I miss my father. ## Hello, Erin! I am so very sorry about your loss. Losing a parent is always so hard, no matter what causes it. Both of mine are gone, now, and I miss them every day!!! While there are risks associated with all medications, and medical treatments, it doesn't help alleviate the anguish, when something happens to someone we love. Has his case been re...

I have not bad problems with this pill at all. It actually has calmed my RLS. It took a few days but my RLS is under control. Mind over Matter baby. I dont Mind cuz it doesn't Matter ## I took klonopin 1 mg 2 times daily for 18 yrs. for anxiety. I came off of this 4 yrs. ago due to job loss and no insurance. I started having RLS symptoms which have become worse this last year. A neurologist prescribed Mirapex. I had extremely bad insomnia. Last week my doctor changed my scrip to Requip. The nausea, vomiting & headaches are terrible. I also get fatigued very fast. I will no longer take these 2 drugs. I have left my doctor to call me today. I want to go back on klonopin which evidently worked for me for anxiety. Plus I never knew I had RLS until I came off of it. I have read somne...

Nausea starts about 1hr after taking the medication, which is 1 mg and lasts for about an hour, does it ever go away? ## How long have you been taking it? Side effects are usually transient and tend to go away, once your body gets used to a medication, but that may take about 4 to 6 weeks. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include stomach pain, loss of appetite, diarrhea and dry mouth.

Hello again Requip Forum: I have asked questions before on this forum (Requip changed from 2 mg to 4 mg - and I was very sick). Well, the doc changed me to 3 mg. Not sick anymore, guess the 4 mg was just to strong for me. Anyways, it's great the 3 mg does not make me sick but good grief, I am wide awake at 2:00 a.m. because the drug has worn off. Does Requip make a controlled release by chance? I am so very frustrated - it seems I am constantly switching strengths and each strenth is short lived. Now is this something that I am just going to have to deal with. ## I am wondering about the sleep thing. I take Requip for RLS and it helps till I wake up wide awake and cant fall back to sleep, at 130am I am ready to start the day and thats not good! Other than that I think it does great!...

Have been on requip for about 8 weeks. Started off with 2 mg and am up to 4 mg per day. The requip stops the RLS for me but makes me so sick to my stomach. Even in the mornings I wake up and feel the need to vomit. Is it going to get better? ## Sure you're not pregnant? Only kidding! Unfortunately, that is one of the number one side effects, but it really will get better. How long have you been on the 4mg? That would make a difference because it can take up to 2 months for the nausea to subside after getting to a new dose. ## Have only been on the 4 mg for about two weeks now. I noticed the 2 mg at the end of the 4th or 5th week was starting to make me sick to my stomach. Oh NO, I am not pregnant - god forbid - hahahahha. Well, this is good news that the nausea will subside after aw...

My doc started me on horizant I took it at 5 like she said but it's now eleven and my rls is coming on strong? Can I mix with the requip???? ## Have you consulted your doctor? It may be worse, right now, if you suddenly stopped taking the Requip to switch to the Horizant. If they are combined, they can have additive effects on each other, which could cause more severe central nervous system depression and psychomotor impairment, so your doctor has to take this under careful consideration and adjust the dosages accordingly. In light of that, I wouldn't suggest combining them, without your doctor's approval. ## I have been taking Requip for at least 10 years. It did help at first, but in the last two years my RLS is getting much worse. If I sit too long or lay down too long, m...

Requip is strictly used for People who's legs move constantly when lying down, sitting down, especially when sleeping. They find it hard to sleep well because their legs keep on moving. Does flexiril interact well with requip? ## There are no serious interactions listed, however, you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure. The only thing that is warned about is that they can both cause CND depression and respiratory depression, so when used at the same time, you should watch for problematic signs, such as trouble breathing, slowed pulse, sedation and slowed heart rate. Is it okay to take Losartan100 mg, and 50mg Atenolol? What time of day should each be taken? I also take requip. Is there any interaction with Losartin or Atenolol? ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? If your doctor has prescribed both the Atenolol and Losartan for you and are monitoring you, it should be fine. Multiple blood pressure/cardiac medications are often prescribe, if someone has high blood pressure that may put them in danger, or to get better control of a cardiac condition. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and increased urination. I wrote on here last year asking about the effects of requip on an unborn fetus. My RLS was beyond unbearable and the higher the dosage I took the worse the symptoms got. By the time of delivery I was up to 4 mg a day and still only got 2 hours of sleep if I was lucky. I was actually more afraid of my mental health affecting my baby at that point. I recall a few people on this forum shaming me for taking this medication and the risks I was exposing my baby to. My OB shamed me and pretty much everyone using some arbitrary animal study where the dosage was about 10 times higher than a human dosage. I just wanted to report that my daughter is one year old and is absolutely perfect in every way. Not one thing was or is wrong with her. She was born a healthy 7 pounds 8 ounce with no issues. ...
