Trying to learn why Pentoxifylline is no longer available. the pill is oval, light lavendar, has the word MYLAN and the #357. Used to increase circulation ## I am not 100% certain, but it could be because the FDA has started a crackdown on the availability of medications that were never approved to begin with. They have had to force some companies to remove them from the market and stop manufacturing them, until such a time as they can be properly tested for safety. Have you spoken to your doctor about an alternative? ## Trental (pentoxifylline) certainly remains an FDA-approved drugs. While there are still spotty and unexplained shortages, as of now (late October 2010) they are not nearly as bad, and you should be able to find it either easily or with a moderate amount of searching. ##...

I have just started taking Pentoxifylline and am wondering if anyone has experienced bad side effects? I have very poor circulation in my feet. It seems too soon, but I believe I am already feeling better. I am taking it for failed tarsal tunnel surgery and am interested in talking with other people about this drug. I am a 67 year old female. Seems to be quite difficult to find other people taking it. My brother is very concerned about me having a brain bleed. Are there any statistics on this? Any information you can provide will be deeply appreciated. Thank you. ## The FDA lists the typical side effects of Pentoxifylline as possibly including nausea, gas, dizziness, and headache. How are you? The only interaction I found listed between any of these, with the Methocarbamol is combining it with the Clonazepam, since both can cause sedation, which could be detrimental to some people. White, oblong. No markings on the other side. ## The closest match I could find is a white oblong pill imprinted with "APO 033" on one side and blank on the other. It has been identified as Pentoxifylline ER 400 mg. Manufacturer: Apotex Corp. National Drug Code (NDC): 60505-0033 Pentoxifylline is used to improve blood flow in patients with circulation problems to reduce aching, cramping, and tiredness in the hands and feet. It works by decreasing the thickness (viscosity) of blood. This change allows your blood to flow more easily, especially in the small blood vessels of the hands and feet. Does this sound like a possible match, perhaps if the markings aren't clear?

A compounded white cream prescribed for relief from itching / skin rashes ## Why would my dermatologist prescribe this when I don't itch? He says I have Schamburg's Purpura. May or may not go away.
