I take 40 mg of methadone daily, have for 2 years. Can I use mupirocin while taking methadone? ## Hello, Lehigh! How are you? Yes, that should be fine, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA classifies Methadone as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Mupirocin is a topical antibiotic and its side effects are usually limited to skin reactions, such as redness, dryness and itching. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I use mupirocin and triamcinolone to effectively treat a bacterial skin infection ? ## What type of bacterial skin infection? Has it been confirmed by your doctor? Topical ointments are really only going to help with a topical infection, that would be one that's just on the very first layer of skin. Anything deeper than that is going to require a systemic antibiotic to eradicate, which means either taking it orally or by IV.
