My pharmacey told me there was a shortage and they don't know when they can get some. They called around and found some at a competing Drug store. Whats up? ## Maxzide contains Triamterene and Hydrochlorothiazide, it is commonly used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions. Shortages of this drug combination were reported to the FDA and the ASH-SP on April 20, 2011 by Sandoz, Watson and Mylan Pharmaceuticals, however, they didn't give a reason for the shortage. It does, however, appear to affect all available dosages. Mylan and Watson estimate that their supply should be back on the market late this month, Sandoz said they should have the problem rectified early in May. Hi. I hope someone can help me. I was told that my BP is too low now and I was to be taken off the Maxzide immediately. I was shocked. Anyway. Have had high Bp for 6 years, been on Maxzide 37.5 and has been controlled. Now I have ideal or low blood pressure out of nowhere. On call Dr says not to take Bp med so i didn't. Still low or ideal. What could cause BP to be low suddenly? Constant headache too. ## Are you on any other medications? Are you dehydrated? Both are possible issues that could cause it to be low, according to FDA reports. What are your current readings? How low is it? The headache is a bit concerning. triamterene ## I cannot tell you anything from just the color of the tablet. However, I can tell you that Mylan does not make a tablet that only contains Triamterene. The tablets they make are called Maxzide and contain Triamterene and Hydrochlorothiazide, a combination of 2 diuretics used to treat congestive heart failure, edema and high blood pressure. Their blue pill is shaped similar to a dog biscuit, it is blue and on one side, it says MAXZIDE and on the opposite B M9. Does this match the tablet that you have?

I have heard that prolonged used of Meloxicam 7.5 can cause liver problems...is this so? and how long is prolonged use?? I am on Amloiopine 5 mg. and Amaxide 75/50 for extremely high blood pressure. I am 79 yrs. of age, and most of my relatives have not lived past 50 yrs. of age. My only sister is 75 and she and I have the same blood pressure as our dad had years ago. He only lived to be 44 yrs. I've been on meds since my 40's, and every now and then the doctor has to up the dose of meds. About a year ago my blood pressure was 200/80, and the doctor tried sever other things, and then ended up by doubling my prescription to get it down to what it is now - normal.
