 Ethinyl Estradiol + Norethindrone Acetate

Ethinylestradiol/norethisterone acetate (brand names Estrostep, Gildess, Junel, Loestrin, Microgestin, Minastrin, many others) is a combination of the estrogen ethinylestradiol and the progestin norethisterone acetate (norethindrone acetate) which is marketed under a large number of brand names throughout the world for use as a combined oral contraceptive.[1][additional citation(s) needed] In addition, the combination is marketed in the United States under the ...
 Norethindrone Acetate + Ethinyl Estradiol

Oral contraceptives come in a variety of formulations. The main division is between combined oral contraceptive pills, containing both estrogens and synthetic progestogens (progestins), and progestogen only pills. Combined oral contraceptive pills also come in varying types, including varying doses of estrogen, and whether the dose of estrogen or progestogen changes from week to week. when does loestrin 24 become effective?

I started loestrin 24 on the 5th day of my period and would like to know how long until it is effective. The nurse practitioner said one full packet of pills but that conflicts with almost everything else Ive heard or read. Any advice/opinions/info appreciated. ## Loestrin 24 (active ingredients Ethinyl Estradiol + Norethindrone Acetate) is different with everyone. Some cases are 14 days and other cases are one month. With most birthcontrols it is recomended to use other forms of birthcontrol during the first month (ie condoms). In my opinion I would still use protection while taking Loestrin 24 for at least a month, better safe than sorry. Do you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I would be happy to help. ## i have been on loestrin 24 fe for now alomost 2 months... ...

White bar shaped pill with Y 21

I came across a pill in my purse. It's a 4 score bar with Y on one side and 21 on the other. Someone told me it's a xanax but I can't find any information online about it.... What is this pill? ## You shouldn't be carrying any strange pills Danny in your Purse. If it isn't in a bottle this can be a Federal crime. A white round pill imprinted Y 21 is identified as Ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone acetate ethinyl estradiol 20 mcg / norethindrone acetate 1 mg. It is supplied by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc. ## It's not round its rectangle shaped and it's an old purse I didn't know what it was so I was curious I already found it online it is a xanax which I threw in the garbage I'm in recovery and didn't want anything in my purse ## Wait, so I'... ...

Switching to minastrin 24 fe

I have been on loestrin 24fe for about 8 years now. I loved it. No period and no problems with weight gain. Now that I have had to switch I am moody and gaining weight. This is problem because I am in fitness. All the exercise is not helping the moodiness or weight. I don't like this pill at all!! ## Hi Ale, Sorry to hear about your problems with minastrin. Both medications are said to contain the same active ingredients (norethindrone acetate + ethinyl estradiol + ferrous fumarate), so I'm thinking any noticeable differences (that may be having a negative effect) could probably be found in the list of "inactive ingredients" - otherwise known as binders/fillers. However, in cases like this it may be a good idea to speak with your doctor or gynecologist about having your ... ...

Lo Loestrin and Amoxicillin

I have been religiously taking Lo Loestrin Fe for 3 years and I recently got strep throat and was prescribed Amoxicillin. I'm in the middle of my pack and on the second day of taking the antibiotic I started a period which I usually don't get. I had unprotected intercourse on the third day and I'm wondering if I can get pregnant from it or if it's worth taking Plan B? I'm really afraid of the side effects of that though. ## Lo Loestrin Fe (norethindrone acetate + ethinyl estradiol) being a form of birth control, should prevent or at least significantly lower the possibility of pregnancy - regardless of whether you're on an antibiotic. Antibiotics may reduce bad (and good) bacteria within the body, but to my understanding should not interact with birth control or ... ...

Loestrin 21 1/20 (Junel 1/20) vs Lo Loestrin FE

I used to take loestrin 21 1/20 and never had any issues with it. I moved and lost insurance for awhile. My new dr put me on Lo Loestrin FE. Today is my 1st day taking it. I am strictly using it to try to regulate my period and calm down my PMS symptoms. The loestrin 21 1/20 used to do the trick for me. The dr office said they're basically the same. Can anyone ease my mind on this that actually used both of these pills? ## From what I could gather, there actually are differences shown between the two medications. Loestrin 1/20 reportedly contains the active ingredients Norethindrone acetate + Ethinyl estradiol Loestrin FE on the other hand contains Norethindrone acetate + Ethinyl estradiol + Ferrous fumarate (a form of Iron) I'm not sure how the addition of Iron might effect the... ...

White pill with a Y on one side and 21 on the other side

It's white and looks like a xanax bar but I've never seen one with a Y on one side and 21 on other side. Does anyone know what they are? ## Editor's note: This has also been identified as Alprazolam 2 mg from Aurobindo, NDC 65862-679 -- Original reply below -- Do you happen to know where the pill originated from (e.g. outside of the United States)? There are rumors of this being a new 2 mg Alprazolam tablet (who's pill information hasn't been listed online yet). However, my search only yields data on a white round pill with this Y 21 imprint that's reportedly identified as Ethinyl Estradiol (20 mcg) / Norethindrone Acetate (1 mg); a hormonal contraceptive. Does anyone else have information to add? ## Auribindo pharmaceutical produces these. They are 2mg Xanax. ##... ...

name of tablet to get early period

My marriage is coming and i want to get my menstrual cycle before the time, so plz suggest a tablet for that. ## Hi priya, If you have a preferred doctor or gynecologist, I would suggest discussing hormonal contraceptive options with him/her. Usually these types of medications (when taken in a particular manner), can significantly influence the timing and duration of your period. For example, with something like Lo Loestrin Fe (norethindrone acetate + ethinyl estradiol), there are 2 or 3 different color tablets. 1 blue, 1 brown, and 1 placebo. Taking these in a certain order for a set period of time can provoke an early period or delay it, depending on how you use them. Your Dr. or gynecologist should be able to prescribe you the necessary medication as well as offer you instructions on... ...
