I would like to stop taking Detrol LA. Do I need to stop at once or go off of it slowly. My eyes have been getting worse since being on the drug. ## It really depends on how long you have been taking it regularly, if it has been several months to a year or more, then you will probably need to slowly taper off of it. You should speak with your doctor about the problems you are having with it and they can probably help you with the best way to stop taking it. Does anybody know which one of the two would be better for a severely overactive bladder? Have to go see a doctor on this but would like to have an idea before going and asking for a specific prescription. ## My personal experience, my doctor wanted to put me on Detropan, said it's highly effective. But my insurance would only pay for the Detrol LA. The first few days Detrol was great. Now, NOT so great so get a load of it: I had to make another appointment to discuss w/ my Dr. the drug he wanted to put me on in the FIRST place. He will, of course, have to fax my insurance company -- I don't know why he can't have that done WITHOUT me coming into his office?? My insurance coverage doesn't allow for me to use the Name brand Detrol LA, so they have substituted the generic form. I have found that it doesn't work. I find I am running to the bathroom just as often as before the on the generic. The name brand did work fine. A little frustrating. The generics should be required to work the same way before being mandated to be a comparable substitute. These are drugs you are taking with side effects and conditions that need to be properly addressed. We are still paying for these sad replacements. ## They are required to work the same way. I am looking for a cheaper drug that my insurance company will cover that is a generic. Similar and that will do the same thing as Detrol LA> ## Well, there is no current generic for the Detrol LA, from the approval time line, that probably won't become available until after September 2012. The only alternative medication that I can find that is available as a generic would be Ditropan XL, which contains the active ingredient Oxybutynin. Is Fesoterodine Fumarate essentially the same drug as Detrol LA and Diovan? ## Fesoteridine is the active ingredient in Toviaz. No, it is not the same drug, but it is in the same drug class and has the same uses. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and vertigo. Actually, by looking at this, I see the Diovan is an entirely different drug class, unrelated to the other two.

can this drug cause double vision ## can the drug terol la cause double vision ## Terol LA contains the active ingredient Tolterodine, it is used to treat urinary incontinence. And yes, it is known to cause blurry or double vision as a side effect. You may also experience: nausea, dizziness, headache and constipation. When I was on another medication that caused frequent urination and the doctor gave me Detrol to use, which is another brand name for this, the blurry vision was so severe that I had to stop taking it and refused to ever use it, again. Does anyone know how long it takes for this drug to leave your system. I don't think it is working for me and I want to compare how may times I urinate with and without it? ## How long have you been taking Oxybutynin? Do any of the following drugs have cough as a side affect: Premarin, Nexium, Detrol LA, or Alendronate? ## My doctor priscribed Ramistar 2.5, Cardace-5 and Telma-40 for my BP in the range of 140/100 to 160/110. All these 3 drugs showed the side effect of dry cough. Hence, now I have been advised to take Amlong-2.5 for High BP. Detrols generic drug? ## although there is a generic pill for almost every drug to modern man. Please tell me why we the general public does not have access to these,but va hospitals hand them out like m&ms. My urologist prescribed Detrol LA even though he knows I do not empty my bladder. The instructions say not to use if you do not empty your bladder so I wonder what is the reason for this. I continue to have frequent urination problems. I see my Dr every 6 months and he is aware. ## It is very hard to say his reasoning for this. It could be because you are not emptying your bladder due to loss of muscle control and what the Detrol actually does is help you to control those muscles. ## I am female,59,diabetic Type II for past 10yrs.Sugars are under control with drugs.Frequent vaginal itching is there and is worse if a foreign object gets in touch with it.This is treated with PALMOCEF,FUMACIN and Flavospas tablets.I avoid sex because of this reason.Urination every 30min is very troublesome...
