Will Fentanyl Show Up In Drug Test As An Opiate

Man the amount of people who have no clue what they are talking about yet spitting advice on it like they are an expert is bewildering. NO FENTANYL does not show up as an opiate on any test anywhere. In fact the only things that will show up as an opiate are morphine, codeine, and heroin and that is because heroin and morphine metabolize into morphine. Not even oxycodone or hydrocodone can be detected as an opiate they have to be specifically tested for as they metabolize differently, same with methadone, methadone has to be specifically tested for, it will not show up as anything but methadone. So unless the test you are taking is specifically testing for fentanyl then you will be fine. The question is whether or not the test you are taking is testing for fentanyl. I have yet to see a piss test that does test for it. Even if they sent it to a lab for testing they would have to tell the lab what to look for and that they specifically want to know if fentanyl metabolites are present. Anyone that tells you anything different from this has no clue what they are talking about or how opiates and their derivatives are detected after use. Drugs that have been taken are detected by looking for what they metabolize into, in the body and no two drugs metabolize the same unless they are from the same base as I explained in the beginning. Codeine, opium, heroin, and morphine are all detected as opiates because they are all made from opium. An opioid is not made from opium, they just have a somewhat similar structure and create the same effect by binding to the same receptors, but they in no way metabolize into the same metabolites which is essentially the by product of the chemical after the body has processed it. Why would my urine screen show positive for Fentanyl?? I have never taken anything but what has been prescribed to me or given during surgery. I don't understand. I do take quite a bit of meds... and I had a hysterectomy about a month prior to to this test. If I was positive for Fentanyl, why would I go pee for my Dr? You know?? It makes no sense for one, and I'm not like that for 2. I follow the rules and I only take what is prescribed. This Dr hasn't prescribed anything yet. I just get injections. What would cause a false positive? My mom put a CBD patch on my hip and I told my Dr and offered to go to quest or LabCorp to prove I wasn't positive for cannabis. I was worried about the possibility of that. And it was only on me for a couple of hours. I thought my mom put a lidocaine patch on... so I offered to self pay for a test that can show the difference between CBD and THC... and she said don't worry about it. Now this s***. I don't know what to do... Unless a hair sample. I hate being accused of something I know that I did not do.

Im not taking anything!! I had a hysterectomy a month ago, and I just tested positive for Fentanyl at a pain clinic that I get injections... It makes zero sense and I am very upset!! What could have happened.. I take other meds..and my surgeon had prescribed some meds.. but not FENTANYL.. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!!

The same thing is happening with me. I get tested for cps and the only thing that comes up in mouth swab is methamphetamines. No oxy m30s but I don't know if you know all m30s are not oxycodone anymore they can be counterfeit and made with fentanyl these days. It is rare to find a oxy pill that is legitimate. I took a urine test as well though too and it comes up saying no opiates just methamphetamine, so idk if it is eating away at the m30s and not showing up or what but it's happening to me too. It has to do with the fentanly I can almost guarantee it.

My son has been failing for fentynal almost weekly at his probation office but not at the mental health center... All of those are clean... he is on several physciatric meds.... he never leaves the house, is broke and has no contact with any old friends and has never tested positive for fentynal before.... any ideas.....

The 10 Panel should have shown a positive result for Oxy or an opioid, but not an opiate. Many people are confused about the difference between opiates and opioids. They are not the same thing.

Any time you take meds from anyone other than a legit pharmacy, you run the risk of popping positive for drugs. Those pills given to you could've been stored in a container that had residue in it from other pills. If you aren't prescribed the medication, it's never a good idea to take it from someone else. I'm not judging you, just playing devils advocate & trying to be honest. Please be careful. Think of your kids.... What would happen to them if they lose you. No one can replace their mom

Kimmie..... Poppy seeds. I bet my last $1 on that. Your counselor should've picked up on that. Your counselor did not do you any favors by giving you a drug test after watching you eat a bagel with poppy seeds on it. I would tell you to have it out with him/her....they set you up

Unless your job is testing for drugs in urine, your job means nothing when discussing this subject. Now, when testing for drugs, it’s all about the metabolites. Heroin, opium, cosine, and morophine all metabolize as morophine and that is what the 5 panel drug test, which includes “opiates”, rest for. Opioids, such as, oxycodone, oxymorophone, hydrocodone, fentenyl, etc., do not metabolize as morophine. Each one of those has a specific chemical signature when metabolized and require a specific test. The 5 panel, mostly used by probation officers and employment related tests don’t cover the more complex tests. Now, if it’s a 7 panel, or a 10 panel, then you will have to worry. Most of the time, it will be a DR. Office that uses a 7 or 10 panel. The DOT test is s 5 panel and is the go to for most probation or employment tests. I did have to take a 10 panel once for pre employment, but it was done in tandem with a hair follicle test. That was a dead giveaway when I found out about the hair test, I knew it would be a 10 panel. Find out as discretely as possible the number of panels on your test. If it’s a 5 panel, you will be fine as long as you haven’t used anything that metabolizes as morophine. I know this information from working as a collector in a lab, and from being tested extensively. You can take this advice to the bank.

I thought so too! But Ive been to a detox place twice after taking fentenyl fire months and it does NOT show up as an opiate. The Addictionologist said that there is a specific test to treat for Fentenyl. And it's absolutely correct. And Yes, there is a specific test for oxy as well.

Bro your not correct i took a blue (30mg oxy) and i got tested by my mom. She uses a 10 panel test and it showed up as opiates! So idk how you got your info but you are wrong!! Now im not sure what fent will show up as he may be correct on that one but oxy does show up as opiates
