What Is Myla Levothyroxine
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I've taken this drug for sometime now, or at least one with a very similar look. Originally I had to be represcribed Levoxyl because of a DYE used in mfg.that made me itch profusely. Is it reasonable to demand name brand from the insurance. Any advice would be extremely appreciated.

Hello. I need your help with the same condition that everyone complains about here. I also have Hypothyroid and are on Levothyroxine Sodium 112 mcg 1/day and since my dosage was increased my B.P. had gone up , I pee a lot both day and night, have more headaches, dizzy, my ankles are so swollen and painful every day, hair loss increased, gained 20 lb in a few months, joints are swollen and painful and not sleeping well. On top of all these I'm more anxious, nervous and have had many panic attacks lately. I know the sodium content in the pill is the cause for all the changes in health including the weight gains (I'm already 230 lb @ 5' 5'') Whenever I talk to my doctor about my symptoms he tells me that I need to lose weight, eat right and exercise. Well I have dental problems too (recently my dentist filed my teeth way down and crown fall off, so nothing on the right side in my mouth) Can't chew so I have to cook everything so I can easily eat/swallow and I can't afford organic stuff. When I keep gaining weight, can't barely walk I'm out of breath by the time I walk upstairs and back down how can I do exercise let alone lose weight. I have kids to take care of I don't want them to are for me not yet. I need help! I feel like a ticking bomb especially when my heart racing and have panic attack. What would you recommend? Please help! Thank you.

Hello, Shamsrumi! How are you?

Are you having a problem with the generics? The only way most insurance plans will cover the name brand is if it's medically necessary.

This medication is used to treat thyroid disorders and the FDA states that its most common side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood swings and hair loss.
