Ask about nucynta. It's actually a class II drug, but without the addictivness of the less potent norco! Most any pain management doc should not have a problem writing you a script to try!:) hope it helps. I take 4/ 100mg a day. Trust me, NOTHING takes ALL the pain away, but if it can get tolerable enough to get out of bed, it's better than, thanks to the junkies abusing, not having anything! !:)

the vet prescribed Hydrocodone for my little dog to suppress the coughing urge (it's actually more of a reverse sneeze). She has something that is common to little dogs that gets worse as they get older. She has always had issues with her throat and it has gotten worse as she has gotten older. I have been giving her this syrup for a while and it has helped, but I'm wondering if there is a safer alternative

Hello, Jerry! How are you?

There really isn't anything else available that will be as effective as a narcotic for pain relief.

However, some people have had good luck with the anticonvulsants that help with nerve pain, such as Lyrica or Neurontin. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, mood swings, weight changes, headache and dry mouth.

Its something you could ask your doctor about trying.

Have you ever considered seeing a pain management specialist?

I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU STOP REFERRING TO ADDICTS AS JUNKIES! THIS JUNKIE (MYSELF) has many chronic pain problems- did not intend on becoming a junkie! you sound ignorant
